  1. he didn't serve 20% of the diners IIRC (because the dish wasn't finished yet at the point of the first wave)
  2. If you believe Tom's description of the process (and I do) then how is an "honest" process supposed to disavow those who believe in a fix? *Not* send her to LCK when she had the weakest dish in the EC? *Not* allow her to beat Casey in LCK? The girl can't win!
  3. I thought Tieler's pieces reminded me *exactly* of embroidered peasant shirts and dresses I remember seeing sold in tourist traps in Mexico in the 1970s (maybe they sell them still....). Nothing cool about it. I didn't hate Hawaa's at all. It was at least interesting.
  4. it's not like having Tieler do the finale was going to make his collection any better, so basing it on past experience doesn't get us anywhere.
  5. I thought Shirley might have already used it before realizing it had vanilla in it
  6. I thought Brooke's defense of her cold dish was spot on. Why is applying heat to a piece of meat considered the hardest thing to do?
  7. I think it's hilarious that they let Blais go first (I actually don't hate him, but he was pretty arrogant in this episode) to bash Brooke and then she wins the challenge.
  8. Because this was an extended advertisement for Universal Orlando. Wasn't that obvious? :)
  9. so I made my own recipe and it was quite nice. I based it off of this (with more garlic as in the recipe plus a whole head of roasted garlic, plus I used milk instead of water) I made my own garnish with roasted red pepper, chopped olives, preserved lemon, and chopped dill. http://allrecipes.com/recipe/216950/roasted-cauliflower-soup/
  10. and she is *so* pretty. And she's one of those who actually looks pretty IRL.
  11. ^ I *think* what was meant that it was so obvious that JoJo was going to choose Jordan that they emphasized the Chad angle to distract us. And that's what they are doing with Corrine.
  12. I have to say that the extended product placement for Harry Potter World (or whatever they call it) left me sad. I love HP and showing hordes of tourists lined up at the iconic railway platform, or wandering the streets of Diagon Alley made me sure that I want to keep HP in my imagination (and the movies) and not visit this sad imitation. Honeydukes looked like every other candy gift shop I've seen. Sad!
  13. ...in a BMW X1 Don't forget the Hidden Valley Ranch
  14. So true. I think it's a very juvenile look. Of course I'm decades past their age, but even if I were not, I wouldn't do it. LOL
  15. I would have filled it in with some sort of geometric tile accent. Something like a diamond that would mostly fill the space; such as the type of thing that's often done on the wall behind the stove. There's no way to hide it, so you might as well make it a feature.
  16. Rachel's dress was "interesting" (The long panels over little shorts) but looked like a real PITA to walk in when it's windy! But wow, when Nick goes in to dump Christina, Rachel had a very inappropriate big grin on her face. Hard to see, but no denying it.
  17. Danielle's professions of love were so "fenced off" from real feelings. It just seemed to be that she was in love with the idea of being in love, and given that Nick is the only person around of the necessary gender, there you go. "My heart is open. It's open to you. I want to experience everything with you, the good, the bad, the in-between. I don't know if that's something that I've ever really felt. I care a lot about you. This is something that I've really wanted to feel."
  18. The editing makes no sense. He gives the group date rose to Raven, who we saw absolutely no "connection" with in recent times, especially on this episode. It just seemed to come out of nowhere.
  19. ^I think that "Mr Tim" (or Miss Ann) is a Southern thing.
  20. I also noticed that when they were getting ready to get on the boat. Full disclosure I am not a "touchy" person, but I was really creeped out by it. It seemed inauthentic to me.
  21. ^I'm confused. Isn't Rachel still in the running?
  22. wow that is a standard here in metro-NYC! I remember when my mom moved from NJ to the South she noted the pasta aisle shrunk by 75% due to the much smaller Italian population. And the Kosher aisle turns into the Kosher "table." I think I also need to look for that Carolina Gold rice, probably online.
  23. Direct from the source it looks like it's under $10 for 2 lb. Didn't go far enough to see about shipping charges. http://www.carolinaplantationrice.com/store/products/Carolina-Plantation-Gold-Rice.html
  24. I have preserved lemons. And like them. I thought Casey spoke about the bitter element (in her lettuce cream -- with Romaine)
  25. I really wish they put recipes up. I'd love to try both of the dishes he tried (the "lettuce cream" sounded really interesting, and I'd love to make the cauliflower soup with that really interesting garnish of preserved lemon and olives).
