  1. The old-fashioned automat had live humans preparing the food behind the wall of "mailboxes." It was just a gimmick, really. As stated above, the Robot cooker will need servicing.
  2. This was one of those confusing episodes where I tuned out halfway through.
  3. Loved the episode but sorry that innocent guy died. So much quick thinking by Will and Faith, who were unarmed. Will was turning his cop interrogation techniques into defense attorney advice. I’m still shipping Will and Angie, and I will die on that hill. I was so worried about the fax that fell on the floor.
  4. The medical group has large annual meetings with fun events. They just had one in Las Vegas with William Shatner as a guest speaker! We missed it but two of our friends got to go. Those big roller coasters are a pass for me.
  5. I’m highly recommending a new podcast Inconceivable Truth. It’s the only podcast I’ve found compelling since The Shrink Next Door. It’s about the journalist’s search for his genetic history after finding out he was product of a sperm donor. No spoiler here. He reveals it on an NPR promotional interview. I think it’s five episodes. I’m rationing because I have a work deadline. Otherwise I’d be bingeing.
  6. I've been to Disney World a few times. Once while in high school--it was new then. My parents and I drove down from NYC. In 1975 my (now) husband and I were in college and went on a cheap spring break bus trip to Daytona. They included a day at Disney's Magic Kingdom. Imagine if you will a bunch of jaded hippie types having a blast on the silly rides. We've been back a few more times, as my husband's medical group periodically schedules meetings in Orlando, so we'd go to different parks, such as MGM Studios and Epcot. Once the medical group rented out Universal Studios for the night, so we got to go with no lines.
  7. @Mona Lisa you are right. that Sydney Taylor book is depressing!
  8. I agree something's up with Petco's database. I go in there occasionally to buy treats, toys or leashes. They have never been able to access my account for bonus points. I gave up. I also order my dog food from Amazon. Petco doesn't have our brand. Further Amazon peeve! I ordered a dress, and they sent the wrong size. I'm returning it for a refund. Not even bothering with an exchange. At least I was able to drop it at the UPS store on my corner with no repackaging.
  9. Today's peeve: I blame only myself. I ordered two bags of Peet's coffee from Amazon, and I mistakenly ordered whole beans instead of ground. Grr. Since I own a grinder (not used in years), I'll suffer through the next few weeks of grinding instead of trying to return the order.
  10. Danielle is lying to the Davises. I guess they didn’t see the talking heads
  11. Wow that other couple already lost two other wives! Get a clue, folks. This does not work!
  12. Billy is very smart! April says it would be heartbreaking if Danielle left again, but it just feels like they would be upset at losing a victim.
  13. How in the world did this happen? Asks ick. Um The usual way?
  14. This is a very valuable skill. It's very useful to be able to co-opt the people on the other end of the line and get them on your side. You don't have to be right, just get a result.
  15. It might happen (with the whale). Obviously it's a cliffhanger. They did reveal about Douglas but it was fleeting. I think he has a discussion with Robert. I can't keep it all straight, it's such garbage.
  16. Yes, and it happened in subsequent weeks. But I was able to watch on an iPad. Who knows?
  17. Yeah, but it's living with Mom that's the stumbling block . . . @shapeshifter I'm thinking your sample size of two is big enough.
  18. Wasn’t Sam going to take over the Los Angeles office? How can he transfer to this show?
  19. Letter to three wives and Picnic are two of my faves.
  20. Agree, and the AI case involved really scary people. So did they really pursue it in a safe way? There are a few people who have been filing those disability rights lawsuits and making bank off them, but they have managed to employ real disabled plaintiffs (incidentally, I don't think a shoe repair shop is required to have a public bathroom). What they do is borderline skeevy, but it passes the smell test. They really skewed things by showing that the lawyer stole identities. I suppose business owners should start buying insurance for these types of cases.
  21. TIL there is something called real person fan fiction. Yikes.
