  1. I liked the sale resolution. BUT Johns Hopkins still unresolved, as is Dele's application to Juilliard. They are limping to the finish. I wish the had more of the characters on each episode now.
  2. CBS on Sunday nights is always a problem. They always run late in football season, and here they ran late for golf. It's a first where they cut off the program for the 11 o'clock news instead of letting everything run over. I usually set my DVR to run longer on those nights. I guess that would not have worked. I did record the Billy Joel concert and the local news afterward. I guess I will have to catch the concert on the rerun.
  3. Also in the previous season she “married” the whole family in a weird ceremony they had. Nick wore a flashy suit.
  4. Ouch this is a scary screaming fight. Dannielle run!
  5. Garrick and Dannielle have a typo in their kitchen saying board! Angerd
  6. I tuned in late. Just when the nick girls were tag teaming Danielle. Once again she is overwhelmed. They want to guilt her into staying. I’m scared of those gals. It’s cultlike
  7. Now Ick wants to go get married in Brazil? That way he will tie her down.
  8. Oh, how ghastly. And even worse was the other CT case with the wife and daughters and the home invasion who were raped and killed and the police knew about it didn't go in the house. I hate even thinking about that case.
  9. That Doulos case was a horrible doozy. It was widely covered in the metro area.
  10. You are right about this, @Bulldog I think, as to protected class. But they went in there thinking it was race discrimination. I live in NYC and while I have no kids, I live and work among people involved in the private school world. There have been stories about general discrimination against either LEO or conservative people in this world. It would generate some publicity, some good some bad.
  11. I looked at a couple of other videos, as you mentioned this. There was one where the Rollers appeared on an Ann-Margaret special, and she dressed in their odd short pants. They sang Saturday Night, and the entire audience consisted of what appeared to be Scottish old-age pensioners. Mostly women. It's like they went to a nursing home to do the show. One lady was shown knitting. Another was using an old fashioned ear trumpet, the better to pick up the noise. But they seemed to be really into the music, which surprised me. I'd more expect this audience to rock out to a rendition of "We'll Meet Again." What do you know about this? Were the Rollers popular among all age groups?
  12. I caught the clip of Robert Osborne on the Beverly Hillbillies. Ha! This was part of an old interview with RO and Alec Baldwin.
  13. I tried Bird’s custard powder from the UK. It didn’t taste very good. Too bland. I guess that’s what they call nursery food. UK folks, can you confirm? Doesn’t anyone like it?
  14. Yes, they did look good together. Frankly, Ingrid was looking at Cary as if he was good enough to eat. But the script was kind of dull.
  15. We saw the cherry blossoms in the park today. The dog enjoyed sniffing around, as she always does. We tried a new ice cream flavor we liked: Haagen Dazs Vanilla Caramel Pecan.
  16. Indiscreet was kind of dull. The best part was Ingrid’s wardrobe. Those were some fabulous gowns. Related news: next week I will be attending an event at the Scandinavian Institute here in NYC about knitting. Isabella Rossellini will be a panelist. Going with my weekly knitting group friends. We’re all excited.
  17. I have always hated the alien sketch. I laughed so hard at the Beavis sketch I woke up my husband who was in another room behind a closed door. It was just so silly. I never laugh for real at SNL.
  18. Thanks all I posted too soon. I guess the Rolodex had all these incriminating facts. Not too clear. I too think Douglas is annoying.
  19. Ha, maybe she'd ask for financial aid. The selective private schools in NYC do boast of (and I do mean literally) having a certain number of financial aid recipients. To promote diversity or to look charitable. Whatever.
  20. Yeah because will Trent is also better than all the other cop shows. It’s just so well done. I’m getting partial to the new show Elsbeth, however.
  21. This was kind of a weak episode. The beef between Frank and Erin about his coming to see her about that car was so jacked up for no reason. She should have just said thanks for letting me know, I'll take care of it. Voodoo story, just weird. Looks like Baez will date the new detective. Good for her. The school discrimination story was also weak. The captain was ready to enroll her daughter in the school if she got accepted even though it would have been improper! I have heard of anti police sentiment in these circumstances, so it probably exists. The school principal was such a moron too. As soon as she heard the person was a cop she shuts down the interview instead of continuing so she doesn't tip anyone off.
  22. I had that problem this week with my Roku. I had to come back later to watch.
  23. I did not go back and watch the argument--only the search. That's where they made the comment about the trash. I think the hammer was just in a wastebasket, but who knows. In NYC there is not actually a danger of ubiquitous cockroaches these days, although I lived in some apartments and college dorm rooms in the 70s that had that problem. I do keep ordinary wastebaskets for paper garbage without covers! Of course, the food garbage containers have covers. As for the timing of the argument, I think it was a pretrial motion to exclude the evidence. The timing on TV trials is so off kilter, because TV court has trials start days after the arrest--ha! Also in Law and Order world they never prepare for trial in advance--they start investigating new theories in the middle of trials. Sigh.
