  1. Former child star Mayim Bialik has a new episode on her Breakdown podcast on the Quiet on the Set documentary. She also has guests Jenna Von Oy, her Blossom costar, and another former child star who is now an advocate on child performer labor issues. I watched part of it. It’s interesting.
  2. PSA: Looks like back to back episodes the next two weeks to finish out the show.
  3. She was also on Mom. I guess she’s a Lorre favorite.
  4. Thanks @Bastet that was a bit of a deep dive.
  5. What's the deal with Yogesh? I'm not familiar with him.
  6. I keep wondering what is wrong with John Goodman. He's supposed to be a good actor. Here he's stiff and annoying. I just watched one episode of the new season of his Disney animated show, Monsters at Work, and he sounds like his normal self.
  7. I have always liked the movie also. I think it was the fact of tuning in right in the middle where he seems to be bugging her to touch her.
  8. Are we to think that Maxine will end up with the astronaut? I give up . . . Agree that Barb and Star was unwatchable.
  9. Gregory was acting like such a jerk! But I appreciated the actor’s performance in how he displayed involuntary reactions.
  10. This ties in with the most recent episode of Young Sheldon. Subtitled "Georgie Learns Grammar."
  11. In line with the Frenzy comments, last night I watched some of Marnie, but I had tuned in in the middle and it was just too disturbing to watch.
  12. ETA: the Mitchum film, The Angry Hills, is one of his stinkers. Oh, well.
  13. I knew you’d know that one! I’m terrible at seas and oceans but Robert Mitchum, come on. TCM is showing a new to me Mitchum movie right now! Fun. I haven’t been watching Jeopardy for a while but I decided to pop back in for this tourney.
  14. @roseha I was considering sneaking my bags of coffee into the small supermarket around the corner and using their industrial grinder, where you throw the whole bag in at once.
  15. The old-fashioned automat had live humans preparing the food behind the wall of "mailboxes." It was just a gimmick, really. As stated above, the Robot cooker will need servicing.
  16. This was one of those confusing episodes where I tuned out halfway through.
  17. Loved the episode but sorry that innocent guy died. So much quick thinking by Will and Faith, who were unarmed. Will was turning his cop interrogation techniques into defense attorney advice. I’m still shipping Will and Angie, and I will die on that hill. I was so worried about the fax that fell on the floor.
  18. The medical group has large annual meetings with fun events. They just had one in Las Vegas with William Shatner as a guest speaker! We missed it but two of our friends got to go. Those big roller coasters are a pass for me.
  19. I’m highly recommending a new podcast Inconceivable Truth. It’s the only podcast I’ve found compelling since The Shrink Next Door. It’s about the journalist’s search for his genetic history after finding out he was product of a sperm donor. No spoiler here. He reveals it on an NPR promotional interview. I think it’s five episodes. I’m rationing because I have a work deadline. Otherwise I’d be bingeing.
  20. I've been to Disney World a few times. Once while in high school--it was new then. My parents and I drove down from NYC. In 1975 my (now) husband and I were in college and went on a cheap spring break bus trip to Daytona. They included a day at Disney's Magic Kingdom. Imagine if you will a bunch of jaded hippie types having a blast on the silly rides. We've been back a few more times, as my husband's medical group periodically schedules meetings in Orlando, so we'd go to different parks, such as MGM Studios and Epcot. Once the medical group rented out Universal Studios for the night, so we got to go with no lines.
  21. @Mona Lisa you are right. that Sydney Taylor book is depressing!
  22. I agree something's up with Petco's database. I go in there occasionally to buy treats, toys or leashes. They have never been able to access my account for bonus points. I gave up. I also order my dog food from Amazon. Petco doesn't have our brand. Further Amazon peeve! I ordered a dress, and they sent the wrong size. I'm returning it for a refund. Not even bothering with an exchange. At least I was able to drop it at the UPS store on my corner with no repackaging.
  23. Today's peeve: I blame only myself. I ordered two bags of Peet's coffee from Amazon, and I mistakenly ordered whole beans instead of ground. Grr. Since I own a grinder (not used in years), I'll suffer through the next few weeks of grinding instead of trying to return the order.
