  1. I found it odd that we saw Noura spinning around by herself on the beach and then the IC started off with a spinning challenge. Someone with a suspicious nature might think that production added the spinning to maybe give Noura a bit of an advantage to keep her in the game longer. It's no secret that loopy players like Noura make for a more "interesting" show. I can't wait for the reunion show to see how this Dan situation gets handled.
  2. I can believe the Dark Army is no longer a threat to Dom and Darlene. The game is over, Whiterose is broke, so who's paying them? The only one who's still active is Elliot so they might go after him just for their own protection. Otherwise they seem to me like mercenaries who no longer have a purpose. The job is over, time to pack it up.
  3. I've never been impressed by Tyler Hoechlin as Superman because he doesn't seem very imposing and now seeing him next to Routh and Welling, he looks like a skinny teenager. I'm beginning to suspect that the Book of Destiny is going to serve as a "reset button" to bring back some of the destroyed Earths. If so, I'll be disappointed if we don't see some lasting changes from this Crisis.
  4. When shows do stuff like that, I always assume budget reasons. It's cheaper to put blue make-up on the actor than to CGI a different face on him. If you watch "Supergirl" you'll rarely see J'onn J'onzz assume his Martian form for that reason.
  5. I think that only applies to commodities that rely on scarcity to maintain their value, like diamonds or oil. If you flood the market with new supplies, their value is reduced. The money that Elliot and Darlene stole from the Deus Group already existed and simply changed hands. No new money was created so the value should remain the same. More available wealth might have some effect on inflation or interest rates but I don't know enough about economics to be sure.
  6. I thought it was established last season that one couldn't travel to the alternate world if your alternate was alive in that other world. We saw some of the test subjects disintegrate when they tried to cross, so how could all those people at the end just come over like it's no big deal? Then again, the portal seemed to change from a bluish color to a golden color for no explicable reason so maybe the rules changed. I just don't understand what the deal was with all the people wandering around like returnees from a UFO abduction or why the portal seemed to change. Someone's going to have to explain that finale if it's going to make sense.
  7. I'm surprised those cops could keep up with Elliot considering all the equipment they lug around, not to mention the shoes they wear aren't made for sprinting. Are the NYPD fitness standards that high? When Elliot was leaning over the sink,. I half-expected him to lift his shirt and reveal Wellick's bullet wound.
  8. I feel this is the problem with all the CW superhero shows. I suppose it's easier on the production budget to simply put two characters in a room and have them talk about their feelings for five or ten minutes and then call that character development, but as you say, it comes off rather soapy. Old series like Wonder Woman and The Incredible Hulk had more action and emphasis on plot but were too formulaic (Banner comes to a new town, finds a problem, Hulks out, problem solved, hits the road again.) I suppose we've simply gone from one extreme to the other.
  9. -15 Celsius is 5 F, just a normal winter day in January so it's just like grabbing your car door handle without gloves. As for sliding it down your pants like Cisco did, well I wouldn't do that but it's not dangerous.
  10. The S.S. Credibility is a ship that sailed a long time ago on this show logic-wise.
  11. I don't know much about writing but I suspect Iris' big emotional moment with Barry is being saved for a later episode just before the climax. They're just getting the other characters' Emmy-worthy scenes out of the way first.
  12. I assume the kid's name being Simon Kirby was an Easter egg referring to Joe Simon and Jack Kirby, longtime collaborators in the comics field. Also Jack Kirby worked on the Jimmy Olsen comic book in the late sixties, so that's a sendoff for James, I guess. Speaking of names, what a coincidence that an evil Martian is named Malefic instead of following the same naming convention as his brother J'onn J'onzz. It's almost like naming your daughter Krystal or Mercedes and then having her grow up to be a stripper. Nice parenting, M'yrnn.
  13. Okay, how did those three(?) stooges plan on getting back to town if they were going to burn the van?
  14. Having never seen that movie, I wasn't aware that she was doing that. I'll have to see if Netflix has that movie.
  15. Annie's takedown of Ace was absolutely brutal and took me completely by surprise. If she learned how to do that in nursing school, that course should be registered as a martial art. After she left the decrepit house, did she return to the work site and fill that huge hole by herself? That seems unlikely even for someone as manic as her. Where would she get all the dirt? The odd way Annie walked in the early scenes with her arms straight by her sides reminded me of certain nerdy girls from my school days. I also find some of her speech mannerisms and expressions oddly familiar and her overuse of "dirty bird" almost makes me laugh. I'm so used to only seeing Tim Robbins in clips from "Shawshank Redemption" that I was struck by how old he looks here. Then again, he is 61.
  16. So did Jen just casually kill some people in that base or was it unoccupied? That would be some heavy stuff for a teenager with no training.
  17. I think Yukio killed the second wife because she was the one who prepared the potion that Chester gave to Luz for the abortion, which Luz didn't use. You don't mess with Yukio's descendants!
  18. If you mean the woman who killed herself on the dock with a needle through the ear, that was Furuya's second wife who he married after rejecting the pregnant Yukio. The zombie is Yukio's body that was retrieved from the water after jumping off the bridge and was buried in the graveyard. She reanimated her body after escaping the afterlife and (somehow) fashioned a lifelike mask which we saw her stitching up in a previous episode. The body that was burned was indeed Yukio's zombie shell, which should have stranded her spirit in the afterlife, but she appears to have escaped at the end of the episode. Whether she escaped as a spirit or she managed to get her body out of the fire is unclear to me. We did see footprints in the ashes so I'm guessing we will be seeing her fire-damaged body in the next episode.
  19. I really thought that was the end of her. Polly is an amazingly good shot to just wing someone with a derringer at that distance, assuming that was her intent. Oh, and Tommy? The next time you dig a bullet out of someone's arm, give them the opium before, not after. It'll make the job much easier for everyone. I was very surprised that Mosley came right out and called his a party a union of fascists. I'm not a student of history but was there a time when being called a fascist was a positive thing? The BUF actually existed though, so I guess some people thought so. It seems unrealistic that someone could wire a bomb into Younger's ignition system in broad daylight with kids playing nearby without causing some commotion, but I suppose even children learn to mind their own damn business in those neighborhoods.
  20. Something about Charlie's facial expressions and mannerisms reminded me of Fred Savage on Wonder Years to the point where I looked up the actress to see if she might be related to him (she isn't).
  21. I don't know if it's just makeup but Howell looks about 70 years old in this role (he's 52). On the other hand, the spirit did a fantastic job sewing up her torn face. You can't even see the stitches.
  22. Interesting that the zombies are so decomposed that the first one practically falls apart trying to untangle itself and the second one's head comes off in Strand's grasp, but when the humans go hand to hand with one, it becomes a mighty struggle to break free. I guess it depends on how fresh they are but I would imagine the majority of zombies are far past their expiration date (literally). If Logan's looking for active oil fields, it seems to me he'd have better luck searching the nearest petrocompany's office for maps. Unless secret oil wells exist and the companies have been (gasp!) lying to us about how much oil is left in the ground.
  23. That's the trouble with having time travel in a story; it gives the characters the possibilty of using a big "reset" button that makes all previous events irrelevant. I agree that the finale was rather anticlimactic, what with Papa X and elder Farouk simply sitting down with a couple of beers to figure out what to do about the kids. Was that a "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" reference when David pulled a fish out of his ear?
  24. A bit off topic but is it normal for someone as important as the Home Secretary to be wearing a backpack? It just seems so undignified especially while wearing business attire. Are backpacks replacing briefcases in the business world?
