  1. When they named Jor-El and then played a snippet of the Superman theme...Bam! goosebumps! Every time.
  2. Probably the main reason I rented that movie.
  3. Maybe she wanted to put him out of commission while she proceeded with her nefarious plans. Sarge had been dogging her for some time and she didn't need him possibly helping SHIELD any further. And I won't be surprised if Coulson is resurrected through Sarge. There's no way they're finishing the series without him.
  4. Oh my God! They killed Davis! You bastards!!!
  5. So this codex thingy is a genetic repository but is also a weapon powerful enough to destroy the population of a moon but small enough for Zod to carry and use at close range with no harm to the user? That's some pretty versatile tech. I wonder if Brainiac will ever get around to shrinking Kandor and what direction the show would take at that point. I find it odd that so many people know and accept that Zod is Lyta's full-grown son from the future. Was there some sort of press release to bring everyone up to speed? Lyta's death shouldn't affect Zod's future if her genetic info is stored in the codex but I assume they'll find some way to keep the character on the show.
  6. Well, now I'm wondering which episode could have used Buckwheat Zydeco's "Waitin' For My Ya Ya" as a title.
  7. Holy crap, I completely forgot that David's father was the future Prof. X! Did they mention the Xavier name in this episode? I really need to pay more attention but the trippy sixties imagery is so distracting.
  8. Good God, I hope not! This show is hard enough to follow as it is. There were points where I thought that maybe the relationship was happening in a mindscape (what hospital serves you a meal like it's a restaurant?) but at the end I decided to take it all at face value.
  9. That's how English speakers think it's pronounced, but it's really more of a short "i" sound.
  10. Considering the dystopian future he grew up in, I think Deke learned to take it wherever he can get it.
  11. The memory loss premise seems overdone by now but I'll stick with this show for a bit since there's not much else on TV. I keep wanting to say "my fanny" when I see her name, which is extra funny considering how the British use "fanny" Checquy pronounced "sheck-ay" doesn't look right to me. I would give it more of a French "é" sound instead of "ay" since it's a heraldry term meaning "checkered" or "checked" (checké)
  12. Walkers are presented to be so dangerous that you risk your life just getting near one and here's Al fumbling around in the dark on one leg to plant the tape on one while it's trying to bite her face. How was someone else supposed to find the tape if she didn't survive, anyway? And of course they both happen to be gay. They couldn't just be two women who bonded through a life threatening situation and parted as friends. (giant eyeroll) Isabelle's secret group who want to rebuild civilization are giving me Z Nation vibes. I can't wait to see what their version of Numerica looks like.
  13. There was a bottle in the snow beside Dev's hand so I think he got drunk for some reason. I FF'd through parts of the show because it was so boring so I don't really know what's going on with those two.
  14. What the heck? Did my local cable channel cut out a scene? Before commercial, Lobo's upper half is advancing on Adam and Seg, and the next thing I see (after Jayna and Dev's scene) is our heroes popping out of the Zeta Beam back on Krypton. And did we really need scene after scene inside Seg's brain? This episode seemed to drag on forever with very little advancement of the story. This was pretty much a wasted episode for me.
  15. Well, they couldn't show us Chekov's helicopter on the other show and not do something with it. Hoping they don't drag the reveal out too much. Who knew you could use "The Little Prince" as a guide to engine repair? All I know is I wouldn't want to be the one to clean off all that putrid purée. Eh, maybe the rain'll get it. We're not seeing much of Matt Frewer lately. I assumed he was the big bad but with Daniel's Warehouse 'O' Goodies, I see no reason for our heroes to have any more to do with him.
  16. I don't know what color sun Colu orbits, but it's apparently not a yellow one. I was half expecting Seg-El to break his chains with new-found super strength so he could go toe-to-toe with Lobo. Being supercharged with Brainiac's essence wasn't enough to do the job. By the way, Adam, a weapon can be used more than once, you know. Especially when you see your enemy is slowly regenerating. Also you could return to Krypton to get help for Seg-El. It's not like the two of you will be able to cure him stranded in a forest. Jeez, these superhero shows are so frustrating but as a comics fan I almost feel obliged to keep watching.
  17. I couldn't see this show lasting more than two or three seasons anyway if all the stories have to take place in and around the swamp, since Swamp Thing can't leave it. One season might be enough if given a proper resolution. I confess I don't remember much about the comic so maybe there were more story angles that I'm not seeing. I'm pretty sure that after ten episodes, I'll have seen enough green glop to last me a while.
  18. Maybe Spanish was seen as a more "neutral" language to be used between rival tribes so as not to give an advantage to either one?
  19. Aw, c'mon, Trish, why not the yellow bodysuit? Seriously though, comic book costumes do not look good at all in live-action. I'm not terribly impressed by Trish's superpowers. Her acrobatic training montage was performed by a very human stuntwoman so what special power does she have apart from slightly enhanced night vision? At least this episode gave us a break from Jessica's tiresome hard-drinking, self-pitying, I-hate-people routine. It's starting to wear thin. Oh well, it's the last season, so I guess I can take it one more time. So is Netflix done with superheroes now?
  20. Didn't Brainiac say something about spreading his consciousness throughout the galaxy? I'd assume he would have backup copies of his A.I. infecting other planets along with spare clone or robot bodies stashed away. Did the show ever explain how Earthman Adam Strange is able to withstand Krypton's heavier gravity or is that a detail we're supposed to ignore?
  21. I don't know much about airplanes, but flying a plane that hasn't seen regular maintenance in who-knows-how-long sounds like a bad idea. Better to just grab one of those many cars with the gas that never expires that seem to be everywhere and drive where you're going.
  22. It seems more like the writers are high schoolers who have recently become aware of social justice and want everyone to know it. Unlike the original series, they don't try to convey their message through allegory, they just scream it into your face for forty minutes. So far, much of this season has been a clumsy, heavy-handed imitation of the original show and not even as good as the previous revivals.
  23. I have to admit that fake-out by Mr. Nobody had me thinking that the episode count was off somehow. Vic taking him out with one shot did seem suspiciously easy, though. The comic- collector nerd in me was almost flinching when Flex and Cliff were handling what I assume were vintage comic books. I was expecting Cliff to tear one apart (Nooo!) Niles, you got some 'splainin' to do! The giant robot makes me wish someone would bring back the old "Adventures of Superman" show from the 50s with CGI effects: clunky robots, death rays, space monsters, etc.
  24. For some reason, I was fixated on Zari's and Ray's hairstyles this episode. Zari's style seemed like something from the sixties and Ray is looking like a seventies weatherman. Brandon needs a haircut, toute suite! I know they can't do nudity on broadcast tv, but a strip club where noone is stripping, (and in Hell, no less!) just looks dumb. They should have used another setting, like maybe a biker bar. Frankly, I've never liked mixing magic with sci-fi or superheroes so I'll be glad when this season is done. Hopefully they can someday return to the original premise of this show.
  25. So Flex Mentallo is yet another character who doesn't age normally. I don't know why this bugs me, but it does. It makes me wonder why they didn't just set the show in the fifties or sixties if they wanted people from around that time period. It seems that this unusual longevity should have some significance that I'm not seeing right now. So now the Negative Being can exist separately from Larry without rendering him unconscious because of Forsythe at the Ant Farm? Except Larry needs it to keep on living so they're still stuck with each other. Maybe I'm jaded, but Rita's dark secret doesn't seem so bad. She must have seen the same sad story played out a dozen times in old Hollywood. Of course, her acting as a pimp is nothing to be proud of, but it's not like she is responsible for other people's actions. Two episodes left and we've covered everyone's backstory, except for how Jane obtained multiple super-powers to go with her personalities. I assume we'll get that before the showdown with Mr. Nobody. Then maybe a season two? (crossed fingers)
