  1. At this point I really only am watching for Leonard and Mrs. C. I have to admit that when she allowed the doctor to think Leonard was her son (although, really, not sure what else she could say) was lovely. I feel that plot lines are just being recycled to death. Vicar with unsuitable love interest/sex partner, Kathy becoming something other than a STAH mom. She's right in that she is pretty much bringing up the children herself since Geordie never takes them even when it is his scheduled time, and she does have her own career. But we've already been through this.
  2. That was confusing and disappointing. Great actors but the writing really let them down. It was so confusing (especially for a show that I was unable to binge) and there were so many loose ends. Knowing the limited number of episodes, the writers should have simplified the story lines. Whatever happened to Father Tso? Having said that, I will look forward to next season.
  3. I found this episode really boring. Way too much Maeve and Caleb (and I've always liked Maeve, but that roaring 20's outfit and makeup were awful). Everything was SO predictable. Although, maybe that's the point?
  4. I'm pretty disappointed with both the Will and Geordie plots. I'm not remotely interested in the Will plot (much as I like him as a character), and yea. we get that Geordie is a product of his time. I'm not sure if I have the patience to sit through what I assume will be his increased awareness of smart. competent women through his direct contact with two of them. At this point, I'll probably only watch it for Leonard, who is wonderful. I also like Geordie' secretary (Miss Scott?) but there is only so much she can do.
  5. I thought Stubbs was supposed to be a security guy? He had no situational awareness whatsoever at the diner.
  6. Brave Maeve! I'm glad she survived. I had to laugh at the Deep's portrait at the end , with HL on a throne and his loyal subject Deep standing proudly besides him. It's these little touches that really made it enjoyable for me. I'd only ever seen Antony Starr in Banshee, I had no idea he was such a good actor.
  7. One thing that struck me was how much bearded Caleb resembles the young William (Jimmi Simpson). I have to admit that I am a bit confused by the different settings/worlds/possible time frames. Are the scenes with the advanced planes set now? In our world? Or is that part of some future world?
  8. i really wish I were able to binge this, there is so much going on I find it hard to remember from one week to the next. As others have noted, there are quite a few differences from the book characters, so I am just enjoying this on its own terms. I like the casting in terms of the actors, but they are just not faithful to how they are described. For example - I always pictured Bennie as short, but athletic, rather than tall, rangy and athletic. Poor Joe, what a shit day.
  9. Maybe I watch too many of these shows, but I thought the rational for the killings was instantly obvious as soon as the person (I know spoilers are ok, but still trying to be discreet here) had a picture of his daughter highlighted. That whole business with the clocks was preposterous, and completely unnecessary. I didn't think I could love R. Bright any more after the tiger, but the compassion he showed to the young woman was amazing (especially for those times). He could so easily have been an inflexible martinet, but wonderful acting and writing has made him a fully human character. I guess I shouldn't have been surprised at how unprofessional Joan was with the DV victim, I have to think it is partially her dislike of Morse. She came on so strong in counseling the woman not to talk to Morse, when he was hardly harassing or badgering her.
  10. I liked it, once I got over comparing it to the books. I thought the casting was great, although the exterior shots looked a bit cheesy. Looking forward to the next episode.
  11. Oh, definitely the ending. I agree, she was fine, although I did find her character as written to be somewhat annoying. And you're right, the side benefit didn't hurt.
  12. That was so sad. I have to say that I am just in awe of the casting, everyone (especially Theo James) is so perfect. Well, everyone except Rose Leslie, but that's just my GoT carryover bitterness. I didn't read the book but I sure hope there are some bright spots in this, not sure I can make it through another 4 episodes like that.
  13. No disrespect to anyone, but I simply can't stand watching Mattea (and so I don't, just like I don't watch when Mayim is hosting), for all the reasons people have already said. I don't care about her thought processes, just answer the question (question the answer?) and move on. If it's a question of filling time, then run another commercial, or have some kind of insider show snippet.
  14. I don't really have anything specific to say about this particular episode except it - like the entire series so far - was terrific. Everyone was true to their characters, there was a nice blend of action and humor. I can't believe there's only 1 episode left. I specifically got Apple + for this, and it's been worth it.
  15. S15E8: Murdoch knows best What a fun episode. I really liked Terence Myers alternative life, and his superspy wife. Certainly they are a matched pair. The dog/cat game looked like fun. I also liked the little basketball story, especially since Watts didn't seem as hunched over as usual.
  16. Terrific episode. I can't believe how faithful to the books it is. It was easy to follow even for my spouse, who has not read the books. I think this is halfway through the season?
  17. can't wait, love the books. I think it's going to be hard to convey the Jackson Lamb character as depicted, though - is he going to smoke and fart all the time? So many times, tv adaptations are fine on their own but not in reference to their source material. I'm trying to keep my expectations really low. But it's hard
  18. I was glad to see that the sharks felt like i did - the dog helmet was a good idea, and probably works well, but is just too expensive. I'd love to get noise cancelling headphones for my dog, but not for $200. I would be interested in a less expensive product, even if it's less effective (but still effective). I don't know if there was some heavy-duty editing, but where does Lori get off telling that young woman to give up her business and be a human rights lawyer because there is more of a societal need? The "young king" hair product - very competitive space nothing to differentiate them. Also - what about products for girls? It seems like there are lots of hair and skin products marketing to different racial groups.
  19. Not to offend anyone, but that was a terrible game. Not enjoyable to watch, I learned nothing new.
  20. I have to admit that I don't care in the least about anything involving Harry or Sam or what they might have been mixed up in. I'm here for the alien.
  21. I had to laugh every time they showed Tristan with his hair blowing in the wind - it's funny little things like this that make me like the show. Much as I'm glad the girls are finding romance, social acceptance etc., I really liked it when they were outcasts and had only their wonderful friendship to support each other.
  22. i have to admit that I simply don't care to even look them up. This used to be a clever, amusing show that actually taught some history. Now, it's all drama.
  23. Thanks for the clarification. Still funny, though.
  24. I had to laugh at Harry giving CPR to 42 through what I imagine was his rear hole. (trying to be classy here). I could completely do without any more D'Arcy/Ben, or anything not involving Deputy Liv or Harry.
