  1. I'm watching Season 10 but not really enjoying it. After 10 years, why is it so hard for Louisa - a certified counselor, as she's constantly emphasizing - that Martin is clearly on the spectrum, and just as clearly is a terrific and dedicated doctor? I can't even imagine a more unsupportive and belittling spouse. It sure is a unilateral marriage, where she gets her way in EVERYTHING even when it's clearly not a good idea. I am glad, however, that they toned down Policeman Joe's stupidity.
  2. The editing on this show is ruining any suspense, at least for me. Carole clearly got the loser edit - even before her steamed pudding disaster, I knew she was going to be the one going home. I'm really glad this episode actually was about their baking skills, and not their engineering. Much as I like Sandro as a person, I thought his land masses on the planet were pretty bad - couldn't he have rolled them out thinner? I really liked the technical - Prue was right, they should all have been able to make each of the elements. And, I have to say that a good lemon meringue pie is also one of my "Favorite puds." (If, that is, there is no apple pie a la mode available).
  3. A nice episode, I figure it's a make-up for that abomination last week (the live episode). There was a lot for me to like - no guest sharks, reasonable products, no sob stories. I could see the Woobles as a deal, it would be easy to expand both the crochet kits and to include other crafts, and the two people were smart and reasonable. I don't like bananas, and would never buy that product. There are tons of similar products, although I did like the gorilla aspect. Maybe its me, but that trusser (which is really a very good idea) just didn't look like it would do a good job of holding the legs and wings in tight enough. It did not seem secure to me, but then, I am not intimidated by using twine - all you need to do is wrap it and tie it. Totally loved the trans man, his story and his products. I can see that company being tremendously successful, and useful to many people.
  4. I really don't care for any of the contestants (except possibly the Lego makers, since they have good skills and a sense of humor), so at this point I just FF to the final builds. I know the show people emphasize one characteristic so we can differentiate the various teams, but I'm pretty sick of having it shoved in my face (yes, we know you are a mother/son (creepy, in my opinion) yes, you are from Canada, yes, you are old) etc.
  5. I bailed out when not one of these contestants knew that Mr. Chips was a teacher (and there was a TS before that that I thought was equally obvious). My main enjoyment of the show is learning new things, so I didn't want to waste my time.
  6. I agree with all of this - but especially, since I am a cranky oldster, the comment about Reb's sweater. Pull it up, take it off, borrow a shirt if you need to, but don't have it half on/half off. I'm not a fan of the off the shoulder look, especially in a competition that is focused on competence and results, but that was just weird. I do think Maisam was the one to go (with Rebs a close second), her show stopper was anything but. I do think she might have improved as her confidence increased, but she clearly just isn't at the level of most of the other bakers. I didn't realize how powerful my thoughts were - pretty literally just as I was thinking what a relief that Paul has stopped throwing out handshakes like they're confetti, he goes and gives out two.
  7. Glad to see the show back. A lot of the builds were impressive. I was prepared to hate the "influencers" until I found out that they were actually LEGO vloggers (I also liked their bows). I think this was held against them, I thought their build was by far the best. I think the wrong team went home. I definitely would have picked the green shirts, maybe because that mom is one of the most absolutely annoying people ever but also because their build didn't work as advertised and was pretty simplistic. I think the granddads are going to get old (ha ha) pretty fast.
  8. Did the show ever explain why Matt Daemon never consummated his marriage? I remember him saying something about his wife being hideous, but she really wasn't unattractive (not a young, blond relative, but still). I wonder if he did it deliberately so there would be no heirs when he eventually killed her?
  9. I think it was the threat to her children's survival - as explained by her father - that set her off.
  10. I think he was also triggered by Ser Joffrey referring to himself as the "Knight of Kisses," thus implying that Criston also is a K of K. I think that linkage was the last thing to set him off (along with the other issues, his humiliation, etc)
  11. She did, which, frankly I don't understand. Chicory is bitter, and why use it if you have a choice between that and real coffee?
  12. I was so glad to see this again. As usual, it seems like a very likable, talented group of bakers. I do think they should skip eliminating someone in the first episode, double up later if they have to, to let them get over their jitters and get used to baking in the tent. For probably the first time, I wasn't annoyed by the opening bit, maybe because the punny names were so spot on. On the other hand, I find Matt to be a probably very nice person but super unfunny. It's almost painful to see the contestants forced to laugh at his quips. I thought ALL the bakes looked good, obviously some more than others. I would have happily eaten any one of them, and I thought the mix of flavors was interesting. I think the contestants (except maybe with the colored hair lady, sorry, don't really know their names yet) recognized that they need to step up the flavors (especially if they need to compensate for a less than good bake). I think a number of them should have practiced their decorating skills more. I recognize that Paul is the main judge (although I am sick to death of everyone talking about his death stares) but I would like to hear more of Prue's comments (especially something other than the amount of booze in the bake).
  13. I love Alan Tyduk, and that's the only reason I've been watching, but this was just too much. Sorry, Alan, your show is off my DVR list. It was so boring, and wasted so much time on every character but Harry. I don't care about the mayor, his wife, Darcy, Darcy's lover, Judy, "Judy's Judy" etc. I don't even care about Asta the Great Explainer at this point. Spending, what, less than 3 minutes on the kids/baby SL was ridiculous. I'm really sorry, I had such hopes and enjoyed the first season, but I have better things to do with my time.
  14. Maybe it's me, but I've never understood characters wallowing in guilt over killing someone when it was clearly self-defense. Getting rid of the mayor and his wife would, in my opinion, improve the show by an order of magnitude. I also don't really care about all the ancillary characters, like Judy whatever her name is. The show can be really funny (I love pretty much everything Harry says or does) but could do without the stupid, childish humor (Judy, for example, Asta at times).
  15. I googled it, and it seems like it is just bad writing - "Other aspects of the role came to Daniel more easily, like the stunt choreography as the actor is trained in martial arts. In fact, he "toned down" the stunt work for the sake of the character, noting that he could've whipped out some crazy moves, but it didn't suit Jay's experience. " How Daniel Wu Reacted to That Shocking Westworld Scene - E! Online (eonline.com) (Sorry, didn't know how to get the hyperlink to work)
  16. What a colossal mess. At this point, I don't care enough about any of the characters (except Stubbs and Teddy) to want to bother to figure out who's real, who's on what timeline etc. I cared MUCH more about the hosts in the first two seasons, even knowing they were "just" constructs. So - an entitled white man with a gun is going to kill off everything and everybody? And maybe will be opposed by a real or not real white woman with great hair? Violent delights . . . . Words cannot express how tired I am of Frankie - not just how Caleb is constantly moaning about saving her (even the host of her he met previously) but how stupid she is - even thinking about killing Bernard instead of using him as a source of info. And yet, she's everyone's princess. Speaking of Caleb - how come he NEVER even asked about his wife? So - the show hired Daniel Wu - and kills him off without him doing any martial arts whatsoever? It seems to me that they have given up on writing (except to f* over the audience), and really just have focused on the visual aspects. Speaking of which - what was the purpose of the beaver dam looking things in the city?
  17. I just binged both seasons, and liked it a lot. I had to get over my Eve Myles dislike (I hated how EVERY SINGLE MAN in both Torchwood and Leaving Eve fell in love with her), but she was perfect here. I'm not sure what it says about me, but I think my favorite moment was when Freddy swallowed the finger - why didn't she secrete it about her person the way Lola did for the drug test? (Sorry, can't remember the exact phrase Lola used, but it was pretty funny). I was a bit confused by the end though - what the bird cam caught was her stabbing Henry? If so, it seems like she'd get acquitted pretty easily (since she is not only a stunning blonde but obviously a master manipulator of people - I could see her reading everyone she came in contact with, and deciding how to play it). She must have known she either killed or seriously wounded him - so why would she think the texts came from him? I was also confused by the whole Mandy/Delingham thing, maybe a just wasn't paying attention. I'd like it if there were a season 3, but not sure Robert is really a compelling villain.
  18. Agree about Daniel Wu - where's his awesome martial arts? I completely agreed with him when he said he was SO sick of Frankie moaning about her dad all the time. I was completely over Caleb's obsession with his daughter, we already went through the parental love as motivator with Maeve. I couldn't wait for his extended message to finally end. I also thought it sounded so stupid calling her C all the time, although we did get to know why C and not F. This shows needs MUCH less Caleb and more Dolores/Teddy/Bernard/Maeve. Or, less Caleb and more Ed Harris. Or, less Caleb and more Stubbs. I'm almost - but not quite - hate watching at this point.
  19. What a delightful game. I liked all 3 contestants, they were pleasant, knowledgeable and didn't jump all over the board. Ken's hosting was perfect. I was shocked that FJ was a TS - it seemed obvious to me that they were looking for an astronomer.
  20. When is Daniel Wu gonna bust out in some amazing martial arts? I've been a fan, since Badlands. As for the episode, it certainly cleared up a lot of questions for me. A little heavy handed (like the piano players hands, ugh) but at least it was linear.
  21. I liked Matt a lot, but he lost me when he didn't get Madison Square Garden, which seemed so obvious. That's one reason I'd be a terrible contestant even though I do know a lot of random stuff - I would freeze or blurt out a wrong answer then kick myself (mentally) for the rest of the game.
  22. I am one of those people who does not have good fine motor control, so my writing is not great even under the best of circumstances. Instead of having people write their answers, why can't they type it? I realize that there is a certain amount of fudging going on here, when a contestant is not exactly sure of the answer but still.
