  1. Has anyone ever made her Carrot Soup? I forget what episode it was in. She was making a bunch of food to freeze. I just love carrots and was tempted to make it.
  2. I think Michelle just wants the attention. She can't have any more babies and all the attention being put on her daughters is getting in the way. I also think Boob is a very creepy and controlling man. If my father was that involved in my dating and sex life, I would be mortified. I cannot imagine that an outsider would want to be involved in this family. I hope one of the girls escapes and gets away from this whole Dugger religion. Also - just want to add that I think Josie has some developmental issues. God forgive me for saying this -- but she looks different from the other children. Anna has really come into her own. I hope her and Josh continue to make strides in raising their family THEIR way. I'm glad they moved to DC
  3. I would like to know more about Shane. It's sad that his wife was diagnosed with MS. I wonder if they have children. He seems like a nice well-spoken guy.
  4. Norstrom's is a high-end department store. II live in PA, so I'm not sure how it compares to Barney's. But it's a bit more expensive then Macy's. If you go to Jane's face book page you can read about her and her family.
  5. It was Jane who stated she came from a upper middle-class family. She stated in one of the earlier seasons while she was at a cabin with Atz Lee that she grew up in a house that had 4 bathrooms and that she was used to shopping at Nordstroms -- but she said that she would not trade the life she had now and that she was very happy
  6. I just finally watched the wedding episode. I thought it was lovely, I cried through half the show. I also thought Amy and Matt were very genuine (though I wish Amy would have worn some makeup. She has terrible skin). I haved watched this show from day one and though they lost me for a while, I reluctantly stepped back in recently. I think Jeremy turned into a nice young man who is truly in love with his wife. Zac also seems to be coming into his own. I wish all the children luck where ever their lives take them. Yes, their family is disfunctional and everyone elses. It was just played out on TV.
  7. Is so wierd -- I was just at Costco yesterday and purchased a box of Tate's Chocolate Chip Cookies. They are absolutely delicious. I never heard of them before.
  8. Another Ken Burns documentary series coming on PBS starting Sunday. Ken Burns does a wonderful job with all of his documentaries. This one is a 7 part (14 hour) series: The Roosevelts. I already scheduled my DVR to record the whole series.
  9. OMG -- I don't know if anyone posted this previously, but Guiliana Rancic looks sickly. Seriously, I'm not making fun of her, it's more of a concern - she is so thin. Someone (her husband, family or staff) need to intervene.
  10. I found the Kelsey Grammer episde pretty interesting. I'm sort of a history buff, so I like hearing about the "pioneer journeys". The people who went West - were good stock and endured many challenges. Though I'm not a fan of his, it was a decent show. I will say I stayed up and watched a rerun of the Kelly Clarkson episode and I was fascinated with her background. She also seemed very down to earth and was so happy she learned her heritage. Her 3x great-grandfather was a fighter and made something of himself. I really like most of the episodes = Lisa Kudrow and Christina Applegate had me in tears.
  11. Wow -- I forgot about The Birdcage. He was great in that movie with Nathan Lane.
  12. What sad news today about Robin Williams. So sad that he couldn't make himself laugh like he did for so many others. I remember watching the first episode of Mork and Mindy and thought was strange character. What is your favorite Robin Williams movie? I have so many. But, and it may seem like an odd choice, but my one of my favorite movies with him was Bicentennial Man. It didn't get good reviews, but I found it very heart-warming and moving.
  13. Do we all want to take bets on how long CNN will do 24 hour coverage on the horrible plane tragedy today? Just want to say that I love Anderson Cooper. I just hope Don Lemon doesn't put his two cents in. Also just wanted to add that my thoughts and prayers go to all the people on board and their families.
  14. Ok, can someone tell me again, who Mindy is? Is she one of the production crew?
  15. This show is just sooooo stupid tonight. The world just evolves around Kody 24 hrs a day. It's just so effing stupid. I can't believe that the investors gave them money.
  16. Ok -- i'm just gonna say it - yes its a bit mean. But did anyone else think the woman in the pink dress in the photo of Derrick carrying Jill out looked like the woman dancing at the wedding in Steel Magnolia's (which by the way is my favorite movie of all time). I think Jill looked lovely and they both seem very happy. I wish them well. They both seem level-headed and in love.
  17. I can't wait for the new season. I love this show. Does anyone have any idea if they are returning for another season?
  18. I don't really have a recipe for my mom's ricotta gnocchi. My great grandmother (from Italy) taught her and it's all just how the dough feels. I personally have never made them because it takes a while to knead the dough and cut them. We also don't cook them in butter. She freezes them first and put them boiling water and waits until they float to the top. http://www.wegmans.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10052&catalogId=10002&productId=348051 Definitely not a family secret. The recipe calls for mini loaves, but I just make one big one.
  19. I have to say my favorite dish my mother makes is home-made gnocchi and gravy (tomato sauce). Her gnocchi's are made with ricotta cheese not potato and they are so light and airy, that if you didn't put gravy on them I swear they would float away. Honestly, I'm a pretty damn good cook. Whenever my family visits, they beg for my meatloaf - lol . It's actually a recipe from Wegmans I got years ago. Something so simple, but they love it with mashed potato's and asparagus. I'm also asked to make my chicken marsala quite often (which is a Tyler Florence recipe). i love to cook homey, heart warming meals.
  20. So now I'm sitting her watching the question and answer session -- when asked why she cheated Tori stated "you can't help who you fall in love with". OMG - it called morals. I'm only 7 minutes into the show and she's nuts. She stating she wants her kids to watch the show when they get older. Good way to screw them up. Poor kids are going ot need therapists. Also, she has way too much filler in her cheeks. She looks ridiculous.
  21. Eaudefussy ---- omg I thought the same thing. Anthony must have written that himself. It was an excellent description that he would have definitely written. I love his show on CNN by the way.
  22. Ok -- let me just say that I finally watched most of the episodes from my DVR today. THESE TWO ARE AN ABSOLUTE TRAIN WRECK!!!!!. Does he shower or wear nice clothes? She is so pathetic. No way in hell would I take this guy back. We all know he's cheated more than once -- WAKE UP TORI!!!! I feel here I am a single, 47 year old woman w/no children. Sorry but I haven't found the right guy. I have a good job, just bought a 2 bed/2 bath condo in a great area and I have a lot of friends and family. MY LIFE IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN TORI AND DEAN. I know what it feels like to be cheated on -- 22 years ago, I was engaged to my high school sweethart after dating for 5 years. We bought a home, yadda yadda and I knew something was wrong. Yes, i confronted him. It was difficult. It was Christmas Time. I knew sitting at my bridal shower that he was with her while I was opening presents from his family, but I sat there with a smile on my face. After he didn't show up to drive me home from the shower, and after I made all the excuses to family and friends, i knew it was over. He left 5 weeks before my wedding for "the other woman" and we were history, yes I was devastated. But it was the right decision as I knew I could never trust that he wouldn't do it again. With all that being said (and sorry for the long story), I have become a much better person, I know who I am and what I want and what I deserve and I believe in myself. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING, IS I'M HAPPY AND CONTENT AND VERY PROUD OF MYSELF. Tori has no idea who she is, no self confidence, and is the most needy person I can remember. I actually feel sorry for her.
  23. This show absolutely had me sobbing. The sister telling Chummy that "a touch is a memory" made me grab another tissue. Then when she painted her mother's nails, I was a mess, just an sobbing mess. I am a total fan of this show and have watched each and every episode. I can't believe I have to wait until next Spring for the new season. Everything else on TV is just crap.
  24. The last scene in The Best Years of Our Lives when Teresa Wright and Dana Andrews kiss is just classic!!! It just gets me every time.
  25. Hello Folks: I'm a long-time lurker on TWOP, but I never posted. This site is much easier to post on. I am a classic movie freak. Love them all!! Anyway, to bring a topic over regarding Jennifer Jones - I thought she was great in Since You Went Away and Love is Many Splendord Thing. Some of my favorite movies of all times is The Heiress, The Best Years of Our Lives and The Little Foxes. I could watch them over and over. All three are very different but just love them. Bette Davis is one of my favorites, I seem to like her in every movie she's ever made.
