S03.E05: Friends in High Places and Horse Surgery
Caseysgirl replied to Pallas's topic in The Conners
I’m not really enjoying this show at all. I remember Dan as being a bit more charming on the old show - now he’s a surly curmudgeon who somehow has attracted someone way over his pay grade. I never liked Darlene, even as a young child, but as an adult she’s grumpy, arrogant and completely unlikeable. Becky seems to have lost all of her charm and brains. But the worst character change of all has been Jackie. She’s so unlikeable and her hate for herself is just not enjoyable to watch. This may be an unpopular opinion but without Roseanne this show actually sucks. -
Whaaa her ring would have had to be huge to just “ fall in the water” And now she’s going to play the victim ( even though she says she hates herself). I’m sorry but Chase is coming off much better than she is. I’m still not sure what her “ business” in Charlotte is. It looks like they do videos together. She couldn’t do that virtually or go to Charlotte every few weeks and make a bunch of videos? She doesn’t have a studio anymore or in person classes & she doesn’t even like Ryan. (if this was real) why would you give up a hottie who loves you & has a lot of patience with you just to get your own way. This is not a feminist thing which I’m sure she’ll try to make it. He has a business that he just bought and she wants to make it seem like she’s the only one that matter.

Oh, and is there an emoji dictionary somewhere because I thought the thumbs up emoji meant OK or good work or, I guess I thought it meant “ thumbs up”. -

Two weeks in and I’m nearly done. These Housewive Franchises have been going on too long and have too many iterations that they’ve kind of become tropes and all the ladies look like caricatures. No one is actually a friend to anyone and they start out fighting on Episode 1. I’ve had many women friends over the many years that I’ve been alive and if even one of them (or in some cases a whole table full of people) started talking to me the way any of these women do , and in public, I doubt I’d be around the. Maybe when the first couple of these franchises started, a dramatic interlude was interesting drama, but now I feel like it’s all producer driven and all but scripted. -
I don’t mean to show my age,but someone called the Berlin Wall “cute”. Obviously not aware of the history. I think the mean girls of this season are the Boyfriends and I’m praying they don’t win. Have they done anything to help the “Alliance” that they have gotten a lot from. I think it was really wrong for them to shame the Blondies into using the timer on their one and only alliance. On the other hand, Leo could have told them what the word was since everyone else got a clue.

This cast is just so incompetent it’s hard to watch. I think Shane is an airhead but other than that he’s cute, but who in their right mind would hire him as a deckhand. Was he another actor who padded his resume ala Casey a few seasons ago. Don’t particularly care for James attitude but I guess he know the job. Elizabeth & Izzy are totally incompetent as stews and I’m not sure about Francesca. Eddie is more mature now than he used to be but I just never cared for him. I think Rachel is ok but it seems that she might get worse at the end of the season. And what is it with people being robbed or losing their luggage - that would truly set me on edge before I started a new job.

S03.E18: 99 Problems and An Ex Is One
Caseysgirl replied to PrincessPurrsALot's topic in Love After Lockup
Unless Dylan is exceptionally manipulative & a good actor, he comes across very well and Heather seems extremely paranoid and crazy. Why she would spend 5 years on this relationship and then dump him within 48 hours of release, seems odd to me. He’s a handsome guy and if he’s not playing us, seems fairly sensitive. I wish him luck. Or did we all get played by Heather’s desire for fame? Meanwhile, how did Scott not know about Lindsey’s six year relationship with Tarabelle? He moved to Mississippi and had a relationship with her mother and daughter, or so he said. It amazes me that none of these men have a clue about what bitches these women are until the minute they get out. -
Agreeing that I don’t find high maintenance people entertaining to watch & it’s particularly distressing to watch the way they are so dismissive of everything being done for them. Am I just angry at the 1% or do I just not want to spend MY downtime watching this?

S07.E02: Charleston Whine and Food Festival
Caseysgirl replied to PrincessPurrsALot's topic in Southern Charm
Shep’s party looked lame. No place to sit, no food, and gossip in every cornerI. Is Charleston like Peyton Place (I’m showing my age here) where everyone sleeps with everyone else and they all know and talk about it all the time. Is this 2020 or the 50’s? Austen grow a pair!If someone is over 25 she’s probably had a few sexual experiences and stop acting like a teenager with his first girlfriend. Had Shep not made such a big deal about it, neither of those couples had to be are uncomfortable. Katherine looked ridiculous with the big pink bow on her head. Why do all these men look they either just fell out of bed in the clothes they went to bed with or they are dressed in pastel tuxedos with top hats on? -
It’s really too bad that Al Franken didn’t have his game on tonight because, as I think Bill was hoping, he could have been a great insider source about the political game. Instead,he foolishly tried to be amusing ( he wasn’t) and completely derailed a comeback as perhaps a reputable “ talking head” for the networks. He ended up looking like a buffoon.

Really enjoy this. I love seeing the old footage of comedians spiced in with the interviews and newer comics.

Well, all the people I liked before (Chelsea, Naomie & Cam) are gone. I feel like this is the “Shep Redemption Tour” & that the whole season will be about trying to convince us he isn’t the douche we figured he was.Step 1 settle down with one woman;Step 2 start seeing a therapist Step 3 start talking nicely about everyone. It’s too late for me to believe anything positive but go ahead show, see what you can do. Meanwhile, Katherine can get her jollies by starting rumors about Cam’s marriage when she’s not around to defend it. I don’t likeMadison much but I do like that she doesn’t take any shit from these overgrown preppies, including Shep, and especially Austen.

What a truly boring season this was. And,yes, Enzo we WERE laughing at you - I thought that’s what you wanted.
-
Enzo might as well hand Cody the check - he says that he jumped on Cody’s back to win. All you have is a social game.
-
Enzo’s whining and then his incessant “ bro-ing” is changing my mind about who should win - and it’s not him! Nicole’s sobbing is getting on my nerves, too. Lady, you already won this once & you did very little do earn either win.

When I see all these old coots thinking that these “sweet, young things”are interested in them, it warms my heart when the girls turn out to be the trash bags that they deserve. Oh the ego! On the other hand, these girls are so awful that I can’t root for anyone.
-
How many times has Kail moved these kids around in their short lives? I have to say, though, her children are bright, pretty well behaved and adorable. Perhaps she is better as a mother than we might imagine.
-
I have to say these 4 are the most boring people I have ever watched! Even when D & S Try to conjure about some ridiculous drama, it’s boring as hell. Florian does not seem very bright and Georgi is as bored as hell. God, these women would drive me crazy with all the paranoia and histrionics. I think being with them would quickly deflate any man’s desire. By the way, when I see Georgi with his hair down, flat and greasy, it deflates my desire as well.

Wild Card: The Downfall of a Radio Loudmouth
Caseysgirl replied to Tachi Rocinante's topic in HBO Documentaries
This seemed like a documercial to reinstate this guy’s career. I never knew who he was and I could care less about him but I was wondering who had any interest in this other than he and his creditors.
