  1. She also said along the lines that he would throw her in the air to scare her...as punishment. I am repeating what someone posted on Reddit about Gwen's newest recap video that hasn't been shortened for youtube yet, in case I got the context wrong. It will be interesting to see the video for myself. But all of these things that have come out lately about Kody and the kids early years, as well as the info that Winn was a SOB (from Kody's nephew on social media) it does make more sense why they really pushed hard with the narrative that Kody is great, Kody is wonderful, Kody is the best. He knows damn well what a shit he is and its pretty obvious that (to quote the family advise reddit users) Robyn's two littles are Kody's Do-Over-Kids. When Paedon said that "Robyn coming into the family saved some of us" I think he mixed things up that when cameras came into the house, that is actually what stopped the abuse.
  2. Gwen said aways back that Kody was nicer on camera. It really tells a lot.
  3. Oh yes, that dihydrogen monoxide is some really scary stuff...
  4. As someone who does exactly this...I can say that sitting outside surrounded by trees and the sounds of nature may be the one thing that helps keep me "sane". I live with contentment as a hermit. I am lucky that I am close enough to town that a take away pizza is warm when we get home, but in the woods with the closest neighbor a half mile away. I have recently discovered "sound reducing headphones" and they are so amazing. I am very sound sensitive and I can wear them with just the silence or use a nature sound audio (converted from youtube) as a relaxing soundscape. Bringing the outdoors indoors so to speak.
  5. This (almost) exact scenario played out in a couch scene. It was when all five adults were on the couch (Vegas days) and Christine called out Robyn "planning to be late" to Logan's graduation. Robyn had no counter to Christine and instead looks to Kody with a "she's mean...stand up for me" look on her face.
  6. As someone who does cook every night except for two or three take away pizzas a month...it can be like a part time job. Keeping track of my pantry, freezer, grocery store sales and rotating meals seasonally and with variety is a lot of planning and organizing. Personally I am an organized planning ahead person, and a retired cook/baker professional so I do run my kitchen like a mini commercial kitchen. But I do get why Janelle would easily fall off a meal plan. I keep quick to heat up meals in the freezer for those times when I planned "X" for dinner, but something happened and we need something quick and simple. Those meal kits seem to be something that is delivered and cooked with a small window of freshness. When my daughter got her first apartment, and her first kitchen, she subscribed to one of the delivery prepped meal boxes. I was shocked, since she was a good cook and baker before finishing high school, but she wanted to have everything prepped so she could learn the volumes of ingredients and the order that those meals went together (which was a little different to how I put my meals together). She also wasn't very experimental with herbs/spices, and I guess the meal boxes helped. She didn't do it for long before she took over for herself. My best tip to anyone wanting to cook without leftovers, or to prepare bulk things for future meals is a scale. Mine lives right on the counter and all of my recipes are written for weight. If you want to have pasta sauce in the freezer for just one or two servings, just serve yourself the amount of pasta you eat on a plate, then put on the scale and tare it to zero. Put the amount of sauce you want and then weigh it. Now you know the ounces/grams of sauce that equals one serving and it can be put into freezer bags and marked as such.
  7. Thank you! This timeline does line up with what I remember reading on Reddit back then. It is also the same guidelines that my local university was following in 2020 and 2021 as well. It's always good to have it spelled out from an actual source too.
  8. No. The surgery was Sept/Oct 2020 and the wedding he officiated was summer (June?) of 2021. However the wedding did closely overlap the "traveling cross country to take Ysabel to North Carolina to Maddie's to college" trip. On camera he said a really stupid thing like "are gas stations even open?" in reference to the cross country drive...when he had obviously been traveling to gun shows and to the wedding in 2021. He was obviously gassing up his truck to get Janelle's RV in 2021 as well.
  9. No worries. I thought it was my post since I had been quoted.
  10. My husband has been a traveling HVAC guy for 27 years. Elevators and elevator technology is everywhere, not just people moving. Lots of warehouses and factories etc plus military bases once security clearances are acquired. It isn't just a job for high rise office buildings. The one joy of working a traveling job is that you can live off the beaten path as long as you have easy access to traveling. The downside as a mother of young children is that your husband is gone most of the time. And there are many many times that a three hour on site job brings 6 hours to 24 hours of travel. Depending if it is easy to get to, or even in another country. My husband was once on a job site in Iowa and they pulled him off the site, put him on a plane to Michigan. The customer sent a car to the airport and took him straight to the site. He walked in the air handler and told them what the issue was inside 15 minutes even though they had lots of people trying to diagnose it for almost a year. After the shock wore off they took him out to lunch and put him back on a plane and he was back in Iowa for dinner that night.
  11. Back then his point to Leon was that to apply and qualify as a candidate to a military academy (their reference was to the Naval Academy in Annapolis) was that they would have to attend an accredited school and not the homeschool church based school that they chose to stay in when the rest of the siblings went to public school. I think it was Kodys attempt to push them towards public school.
  12. Referencing Janelle's "Strive with Janelle" page on Facebook, she posted lives in March and April of 2020 that show the growth on her lip to be sizable. Much discussion online was had at that time about how quickly it had grown. In May of 2020 she posted that she had discovered it was cancerous and not a "overgrown scar" and she had it removed. When watching the film footage during that time it is interesting that the growth is in several different stages of size as well as the changes her lip went through during healing. She did not mention the surgery on the show that I can recall, only on her social media. My reference to schools was only to the NAU university, not public schools. At that time on Reddit people noted that Gabe said he was in school and masked. There were several people claiming to be local in Arizona and they said that universities didn't return to in class with distance and masking until school started for the fall semester of 2020. My local university also followed this schedule. That is where I drew my inference from.
  13. According to Gwen the talking heads are the producer asking questions, sometimes the same phrased differently. So my interpretation is they have a certain answer/reaction they want to create and needle the subjects until they get it. I have often thought that many of Kody's reactions are from being poked at. Without seeing raw footage we the viewer have no idea if the response is actually in reference to what we are seeing at the time. The season that was filmed during covid in 2020 is a good look at how contrived many scenes were. You could easily tell when the film crew was filming vs the self footage, and Janelle's lip surgery gave away the actual timeline vs. the timeline they were trying to feed us. There was a scene outside with Janelle, the two boys and Savannah, where they were trying to make it seem like lockdown was just happening. Yet it was filmed by the pros and the greenery in her back yard was clearly summer. Her lip surgery was well healed as well. Gabe said that in school the in person classes had everyone masked. Yet in reality as covid cancelled classes in the Spring semester, in person didn't begin until the fall semester sometime in August. Which lines up more with Janelle's backyard scenery.
  14. I guess its the professional cook in me. Just wiggle the pan as the egg hits it, cook it flat and fold up to fit the bread or roll you are making into a sandwich. It will cook fast and you don't have to worry about any uncooked white in the middle of the little circle.
  15. Even more than the "rilly" and "dill" it's Robyn's "haffin' " that is like fingernails on the chalkboard to me. "" I have to go..."" becomes ""Eye haffin' ta (grunt sound)oo"" 🙄 However...full disclosure I am in western Pennsylvania and spent years in college cleaning up the "hick" accent with red up=cleaning, hanging the warsh out on the line, pop=soda and the famous variations of the Pittsburgh "younz or yinz" depending on how thick your city dialect was.
  16. Well. David did steal the cream from the neighbors cow. Then the neighbor made him buy the cow, but the jokes on David because the neighbor wanted rid of that cow anyway...
  17. Not sure if something like this could help with pouring from above. A funnel, but with a hose attached. Usually found in auto parts, farm stores or hardware stores. I have seen lots of different sizes and shapes. I thought the one with the handle looked "handy"
  18. I am less offended by Mykelti "sticking up" for Kody and Robyn than I am by her making a broad statement that PPD is caused by "the new mother not getting enough attention after the baby is born."
  19. I have an old treadmill that my daughter didn't want to take with her and I have been using it to strengthen my knees after an injury. With Chronic Fatigue I can only do a short time and need to do it when I have the energy as well. Mentally I can't last very long so I use youtube videos to help keep my mind going. I found a channel where a man holds a camera and just walks places, he talks very little and allows the video to just be the experience of the walk. I have walked through Paris and Edinburgh and along hiking trails and through mountains. My slow walking on the treadmill is very close to his slow walking in the videos. Maybe there is something similar with people riding on bikes?
  20. I actually made it through the entire 3 hours of Paedon's interview. Transcribing pottery glaze recipes from little notecards to a word document helped keep me busy while I listened. One story that hasn't been noted was at the very very end and it stood out to me. First Paedon noted he was angry at Kody for being an ass as his Grandma's funeral (Janelle's mum). I guess Kody got up to speak and made it all about himself and his father Winn, and said nothing about Janelle's mother (I forget her name). Then he told the story behind the "Kody wanted TLC to write a contract to prevent the kids from speaking badly about him on platforms". Paedon was angry at Kody about the funeral, and then out of the blue Kody calls him to ask how he is doing and they have a pleasant conversation. Paedon softens his stance on his dad and begins to think that maybe, just maybe Kody does care and is just truly overwhelmed etc etc. He at some point after that calls Christine and mentions to her that Kody called him. Christine blows up with "OH did he call to tell you about our fight?" and then she tells Paedon that she had been fighting with Kody over him trying to get the producers to draw up paperwork that meant that TLC could sue the kids for saying bad things about Kody publicly. Not Kody suing his own children, but the more $$powerful$$ network. And then Paedon also discovered that Kody had made the same call to ALL of his siblings to soften them up to him. Not because he actually cared...but because he was trying to make them think he cared to not speak out against him. Also to be noted is that Paedon was very snotty about Gwen. Near the end he said that he gets along with everyone...but Gwen hates him. The other people who were participating in the video were all "coo coo" to Paedon and going on about how "some people just need to grow up and understand being a kid is hard and she will come around and they will make up" etc etc. At no time did Paedon state why Gwen hated him. He did not explain (imo) because he was getting the "oh...poor you" sympathy from the group, and he never mentioned that his violence of punching his younger sister in the face when he was 16 is what prompted her feelings. Gwen has also said that his bullying was "relentless", so it was more than just one incident. Paedon very much likes the attention, and he loves, loves, loves to talk about his interactions of hitting on the strippers who work at the strip club that he is a bouncer at... 🙄
  21. It's quite easy to call "bull" on anyone saying the catfish story was concocted just for the show. Even prior to JO releasing voicemails and photos it was played out quite publicly on Twitter and Facebook. 🙄
  22. This is extra odd because Meri and Robyn were both looking for a rental at the same time when Meri found the big house she still rents to this day (unless things have changed recently and no one has noticed). No idea how many bedrooms Meri's Flagstaff rental has, but it has a playset in the back yard and lots of garages for all of Kody and Robyn's stuff. They only seem to film on the outside of it lately.
  23. In my humble opinion. There are bastard men, cruel men, misogynist men, plain old women hating asshole men. But the greatest disservice to women comes from other women.
  24. I see Robyn wanting polygamy the same way as someone is in a group project. The kind of person who manages to get out of working on any part of the project, yet their name is on it and they receive the same grade as the others who fully contributed.
  25. While I have not listened to Paedon's words for myself yet, I have been reading the quotes and opinions of everyone here and on Reddit since it came out. I speak from personal experience that two children in the same household can and do have very different life experiences and personal views of their upbringing. It is very certain that family members can witness and say nothing to stop abuse that is happening right then and there, not to stop it in the moment or do anything in the aftermath to make it not happen again. Abuse can and does happen in the open in front of strangers that is not seen as abuse because abuse is day in and day out training, behind closed doors and in open crowds. That training stays with a person for their entire lives, every minute of every day and skews their perception of every experience they have. Paedon speaks in the same vagueness speak that all of the Browns have used since day one of the first episode. Sub text and implications that are left for interpretation the same as their religious texts are. It can be maddening and yet why there is so much discussion of this show from day one, including my own fascination with the show. I interpret Paedon's "Robyn entering the family saved all of our lives" as a broad statement. Robyn entering the family means that they had a new stream of income coming into an impoverished household. They had a new public profile, with many people locally as well as nationally (and then globally) paying close attention to their story. With this new information, according to Paedon, Robyn was able to see behaviors and was able to change them. Naturally we will most likely never know any exact instances of these behaviors etc, but something changed according to Paedon. I believe the largest thing that stands out in my mind is that they moved out of their religious bubble. Out from under the control that the church leaders hold over everyone in their clutches, and into a very different world in Vegas. In my opinion it is more the change from the fundie mormon bubble that "saved" the family more than anything else. The Browns always kept their religious beliefs very low key and so it is easy to forget the religious dogma and control that exists in their real world and only pay attention to what is said on camera, yet the religious aspect is always there in the subtext and can be difficult to catch unless you really understand the history of the church and know the "language" of their dogma. Like trying to learn the language of $cientology, it can be as difficult as learning another culture/language. Exactly. 1000%
