  1. Poor Nicolina! I thought she would be top 3 for sure--her and Noah both. I mean, I didn't like her as much as Grace last year by any means--still... Sort of sad the only big voice on the show gets eliminated the night Carrie Underwood coaches. :/ Nicolina's "Blown Away" performance was very weak (and, worse, they dressed her terribly there), but I never would've thought Leah would make it over her. I did think it was suspicious that Noah sang last when Nicolina should've been going last according to how they performed in the first half of the show.... Noah did poorly on "So Small," which was unfortunate because I love that song. If the arrangement had brought it down some, it would've been perfect; but as it was the band drowned him out a lot of the time. Thankfully he knocked out his second performance. Now Nicolina's been eliminated, I'm fully in Noah's camp. I had a feeling he was going to win anyway, but I couldn't help sort of rooting for Nicolina in case she might somehow manage it. Noah's the best country guy they've ever found though, imo, better than Laine and worlds better than McCreery and Chayce (hated both of those, the latter wasn't even "country" until the finale). I wouldn't be mad at all if HunterGirl managed to win, she seems nice and her original material is good. She actually did okay tonight with her two covers, whereas usually I don't think she sounds too great. Sad for Fritz. I wish the third slot had been either Fritz or Nicolina instead of Leah, that way I would be happy no matter who won next week. I just don't care for her. Her 2nd performance was actually decent, but, aside from that, I think there was only one song she had a couple weeks ago that I liked. *shrug* It would be just my luck that the next time a female contestant actually wins, it would be someone I don't like, lol. She would be the first woman to win this show I didn't like.
  2. I guess I'll delete since they did. *shrug*
  3. What a horrible choice in Camila. They could've got someone better than her. Carrie Underwood, Josh Groban, Kacey Musgraves, Ed Sheeran, Alessia Cara, Rihanna, Cardi B, Dolly Parton, etc. There are so many names (of varying levels of fame, relevance, possible salary limits, etc.) they could've reached out to. They could've even brought JHUD back what with her having a bit of a resurgence with Respect and debuting a talkshow soon, or Nick Jonas. Between that and Gwen Stefani (though I love her) having always been such a vapid non-entity on this show, this will ensure the audience is ecstatic whenever Kelly Clarkson does return, no doubt. I don't always watch the show even when they have a good lineup (last season with Ariana and Kelly was the first I'd watched in a long time), but this one's a definite skip for me.
  4. I did feel Darlene was sort of a diamond in the rough on the original show, because she came across so clever in her one-liners and had an interest in something. I've never felt like the Darlene on this show and the Darlene on that show were the same character. Maybe the actress' voice being so different on one show v. the other adds to that impression, lol. Harris is a completely different story from Darlene on the original. Like you, I feel like Harris and Aldo are fairly equivalent. Harris would have a slightly better chance at college, but she's excruciatingly horrible where Aldo seems nice despite his faults. Like others, I have a feeling the Aldo-Harris marriage won't happen in the end. I believe the other two will though.
  5. Looking forward to the Downton Abbey actors, and it'll be interesting to have The View interview one of The Real's co-hosts. I think Loni Love may have been a guest on The View before, but don't know about the others.
  6. I guess I'm alone in thinking Jackie's reaction at the beginning of the episode was the highlight of the whole episode. Took me a while to stop laughing. (But Goodman and Metcalfe are the main reason I watch this.) Darlene explaining why she bought the wedding rings was another hilarious moment--and it feels very rare to get one of those in a single episode of this spinoff, much less two in one show.
  7. I'm happy this show is still going. When it first started, I was thinking that the best case scenario would be around 3-4 seasons. I'm sort of shocked it's still here (in a good way). I guess ratings in general being awful has a lot to do with that, but I'll take it!
  8. Decent show today. I get Ana's reaction to Joy because "trauma" initially makes a person think of something very serious, but when it comes to psychology and all that, there is a such thing as little traumas. Really just a memory that sticks with you and impacts your relationship with others (whether it's just one person like a parent or the world in general) is all it really means.
  9. What a shame. I was hoping this one would get a second season, I liked most of the actors. :(
  10. Now you've suggested this, I can see it happening. But I think it's more likely he Kat ownership of the building altogether.
  11. I think it was in response to Alyssa being patronizing. "Sunny's figures are right....(this time)" is how that comes across. Just like the other day when she said "Sunny has a point," Sunny was a smartalek back at her. It was as if Alyssa was trying to be the arbiter of what's worthy and what isn't, please. Btw, her smirk today as Sara talked about how IVF will be banned and people who are trying to conceive will no longer be able to was disgusting.
  12. I've never liked Todd, so glad to see someone else get a chance there. I generally don't watch anything before Deadline anyway. Joe Scarborough, Andrea Mitchell, and Todd especially get on my nerves. I really only watch Wallace, Melber, Reid, and Maddow (when Maddow's the one hosting her show). I don't mind O'Donnell or Matthews, just don't watch them regularly. I've often wished Claire McCaskill could get her own show, but I've thought lately that, no, I like seeing her appear on all the other shows because her appearances usually bring a feeling of camaraderie with the hosts of the other shows. Generally she and Confessore (and of course Kornacki) are the best additions. I can't remember if Psaki is getting her own show or if she's just going to be a correspondent on other shows? I've always liked her manner of speaking, no histrionics. Since Maddow's show eventually will be a one-week only thing (if I'm not mistaken), maybe that might happen.
  13. It was a fun show overall despite her though. Whoopi watering Joy's flower made me laugh, and then there was one moment in the interview with Silverman where Silverman made a self-deprecating joke. She congratulated Whoopi on the segue from the abortion topic to the show she was there to advertise and said that Whoopi should've said, "Speaking of abortions, let's talk about your new show!" 🤣
  14. I hope they get some good songs this year. I did like Casey's, Hunter's (which he wrote himself), and Arthur's last year, but the actual top 3's songs (Grace, Williw, Chayce) were all a miss for me.
  15. Alyssa: "He should be allowed unless he incites violence" -- As Joy said, he already incited violence. Gee, I guess encouraging Congress, the Speaker of the House, and the Vice President to be murdered was just worthy of a one-off suspension... If he incites Congress to be murdered again a 2nd time though--then he should be banned for sure! What kind of disturbed logic...
  16. I feel like the opening topic about members of Trump administration looking for a pass after-the-fact was very appropriately timed, what with Alyssa being there and all. Sunny was on fire!
  17. I always imagined the "book" must be one, 2-hour-long run-on sentence.
  18. The jury gave Washington the most points, for heaven's sake... Please, anybody but Washington, he's awful. I'd even rather Jordan win. EDIT: YAY!!! A happy ending, after all! Thank God.
  19. Joy was referring to the phrase, "victims of rape or incest." A "victim of incest" will always be a "victim of rape" simultaneously, because the term "victim" by definition would not apply to consensual, of-age affairs involving incest.
  20. I think he has enough personality for country... Most country male singers don't thrive on personality the way pop starlets and divas need to. I mean, do Kenny Chesney or, heck, Luke Bryan have "personalities"...? Bryan was always the weakest link on the panel to me although I think he's a nice guy; I think Urban did the country role better. I liked Christian more than most did here and he's another one I would've been fine with being the winner if things had went that way. I appreciate a big Buble or Groban-esque male voice as much as a big female voice, although Idol generally showcases more of the latter than the former. I thought he was very strong last night, but I wouldn't say he was the best of the night. As for Nicolina butchering her final notes--she did that to a degree with the Heart song (like that "White Dove" song she did a couple of weeks ago, I think she got overwhelmed by the band), not in her second song though. I don't think she does acrobatics much--she's actually pretty rare as far as their big singer types go in that she tends to go softer and more intimate over "big, big, then bigger" in her performances. That and she seems to love the stage. I personally found Grace's voice more beautiful and, well, pretty than Nicolina's, overall. I do remember Grace having a couple of bum notes here and there at times, but they were seldom the last one. I believe they even ran her last big note in "Into the Unknown" during Idol's commercials all last year because of how impressive it was.
  21. I suppose this is a lesson on how you treat people, particularly those below you. I mean, you should be kind to people because it's the right thing to do, but even from a point-of-view of simple self-interest, everyone knows that you will have a fall someday especially if you're a celebrity. It happens to everyone. How bad it is and how long it lasts depends on how well you treated people. You can have people who reach out to defend you or hold you up because you were kind to them, or you can get slapped by every single branch on the way down as here, lol.
  22. I know…. I just prefer Alison Krauss. Their version was awful even when compared to Whitley.
  23. Joy is right that the talk about banning birth control now is the biggest signal so far that this is all about hatred of women and female power in general considering birth control prevents an unwanted pregnancy in the first place and lessens the need for abortion.
  24. Loved Sunny mocking Justices Thomas and Alito wanting privacy when they're overturning a right to privacy for women everywhere.
  25. Well, I knew those first three names you listed before The View hired them, wouldn't know her by name, so... I don't buy she'd turn down a million-dollar job on The View because she might've had to deal with Whoopi being mean to her if she's willing to attach herself to the much more toxic and lower class Real Housewives franchise where there's nothing but fighting nonstop all the time.
