  1. I watched tonight because I’d read Victor was going to be evicted. And it was delicious. He deserved every bit of that after being a hypocrite last week with Natalie. Too bad Paul won HoH. I hate Nicole and Paul more than the other two and was almost leaning towards hoping she’d win so I wouldn’t have to hear Paul’s loudmouth bragging anymore. But I’d be fine with her going home, although I’m guessing the show will do their best to make sure she wins PoV. What is up with Julie the past two weeks? She was talking to Derrick and asking him about whether or not people should throw their partner under the bus if it means saving themselves? Uh, yeah??? Why would anyone give up a half a million dollars to be “loyal” to somebody else, like dumbass Cody? Somehow I thought this was a backhanded way to criticize Natalie. I’m guessing the explosive jury segment Julie hinted at will be Natalie and Paulie. I hope Corey doesn’t make top 2 just so we won’t have to see Paulie smirking and mugging for the camera.
  2. I didn't get the point of the clip they showed of Candace either, although I could tell it was from Full House just from the way it looked. I imagine Joy wouldn't waste time watching a cheesefest like FH. The only positive I can think to say about Jed and Candace is they had nice earrings. Whoopi was best during the pneumonia discussion. We're so worried about a woman getting sick (what a fault), but Trump has never released his tax returns. And no talk about what he was saying on 9/11's anniversary while Hillary was getting overheated wearing a gun vest because he's egged on his voters to assassinate her. I'm glad they all were looking at Candace like she was stupid (because she is) when they were talking about the football players' protests. It must be nice to live a life where you never have anything to protest, Candace. You wouldn't want to be put out of sight, out of mind, if it was something that affected you. Ain't that the truth. What a shame we have a show with trash like Jed and numbskulls like Raven/Candace, when the show could be something wonderful like Sara, Joy, Sunny, and Padma everyday. They had the opportunity. Whoever runs The View these days clearly loves Jed/Paula/Candace's brand of misinformation and hatred (coated in Christian victimhood).
  3. Same here. I was really thinking about watching Bull because the previews looked interesting. Now I know it's about Dr. Phil, I'm not touching that show with a ten-foot pole.
  4. I loved Joy’s response to Candace’s baseless speculation. And then Candace went a different direction--now Hillary is so evil she’s even trying to infect her own grandchildren! Oh, won’t somebody think of the defenseless children!! I can't believe Sunny won't be back for 2 more weeks. This show is overloaded with conservatives now. And Sara is just sitting all the political talk out. Sometimes it seems like Whoopi plans things with her ahead of the show. Like the clothes discussion--the way Whoopi asked her about it looked completely planned. Whoopi must've put in a word for Sara to get her guest-hosting, then hired.
  5. The pain continues. I'm sure she didn't think it could get worse than Sherri and Elisabeth.
  6. Woof. Dr. Phil and HCJ is way too much arrogance for one show, goodness. I hope Keke won't be at the table again. She would give Raven a run for her money in the brat department. At least Joseph Gordon-Levitt is one guest to look forward to.
  7. I thought the same thing, although it came out to play a little during some of the guest interviews. Don't worry, the beast will re-awaken soon, I'm sure.
  8. That is such a good idea. I really wish it had happened or would be brought up in season 6 perhaps that he was a failed Savior when they go into the Savior mythology. I assumed she was cozying up to Dorothy because even if Zelena had already joined the table, Dorothy must still be important somehow. In a muddled way, I thought it actually worked similar to how, in myths/literature, trusting in prophecy is what gives it its power. Glinda thought Zelena was worthy for no other reason than she was brought to Oz via a tornado when many things about her were questionable, and only ended up guaranteeing she became the evil that needed to be defeated when Dorothy showed up.
  9. I wouldn’t put much stock in their official names. Jedidiah was already on the show this week as often as official co-hosts Paula, Sara, and Raven. Maybe her and Sunny will rotate weeks? Who knows. I wonder if the reason they’re calling Jed and Sunny contributors is that they don’t think they will be good for the show once the election talk ends in November? I guess I can see that, because Sunny isn’t very likable or interesting when she’s giving her screwed up marriage advice or dictating what women should wear, clutching her pearls over sex and dating, and so on.
  10. Yes, she was talking about how hate speech is being normalized because of Trump and how that filters down. I know what you mean. I've said it before and I know many will not agree, but I really would in all seriousness take Elisabeth Hasselbeck over Jedidiah. I could roll my eyes at Elisabeth and laugh at her insincerity, her failed attempts to be likable, her fake friends and stories, and her psychotic meltdowns. The same with Raven and Candace; I hope they leave eventually, but they can barely even speak coherently which makes it easy to laugh at them. There's no way for me to deal with Jedi though. I just end up hoping one of the other co-hosts will lose all their inhibitions and curse her out live on TV. lol I'm hoping eventually Sunny will be on almost daily. She and Joy are the only two who can counterbalance Jedi's screaming and mile-a-minute garbling. There are several co-hosts I thought would never be topped, but here we are again.
  11. Yeah, I've never understood why the writers make Snow says things like that. I've always assumed they mean it to be taken as the character being kind to Regina, not because she really feels responsible for the Evil Queen era. But maybe we're supposed to take it as Snow's relationship with the current Regina tapping into the pre-EQ relationship they had, and Snow does feel responsible for telling Cora about Daniel even though she was a child. Back in season 2, I thought for sure as everything was happening that the writers would reveal Regina was playing Cora at the climactic moment and that would be the way the writers would forge a relationship between her and the Charmings/Emma, but.... I always thought that was a lost opportunity, although I guess I could believe that Regina was really that desperate for her mother's love that she'd actually team up with her after everything (and they used that to show how psychologically damaged she is that she apparently does not hold Cora primarily responsible for Daniel's death).
  12. Not sure where to put this, but while I had no interest in this season before, I might have to stick around for as long as Billy Gilman lasts. I really never would've expected it since I grew up with his first two albums, but he hasn't really done anything big since then so I guess he'd count as an unknown just as much as Javier, Alisan, and Cassadee.
  13. The likes on Facebook praise made me laugh. And then she said he had the Young Vote! Good luck with that, because if there's one thing we know it's that young people are generally an unreliable base. Besides, I'm sure there are many young voters like myself who will not be voting for him. I assumed it was all live. Since there was no show Monday, Her Presence probably deigned to record a fourth show on Friday. That was a really lovely interview with Chelsea Clinton. She wasn’t as stiff as I remember her at the DNC and several other places. Nobody really got on my nerves today, but that might be because they only had one round of hot topics and the absence of Jed’s face/voice automatically relaxed me. I loved how Chelsea said she thought most of the untrustworthy business is about the fact that Hillary’s a woman, and I agree. If the economy didn’t force both parents to work these days, the stigma on working mothers would probably be as strong as it was 30-40 years ago. Even outside the working issue, a large number of people in this country do not like women who have any sense of ambition, in their career or otherwise. I still prefer Paula to Jed (choose your poison), so I was glad she was there instead. Hopefully next year Jed’s numbers are even lower than Paula’s and Jed is fired/relegated to Friday’s. Or, rather, Monday’s, because I’d like Joy Friday’s to be free of her. Nah, let’s make it Tuesday’s, because Monday’s are enough of a bitch without having to watch one on TV.
  14. Of course not. If the story gets any traction in the press, it’ll be “Evil, liberal audience chases innocent, Christian victim off the stage on The View.” Complete with quotes from Candace about why people have to be so mean, how hard it is to be a Christian, and that people need to have tolerance for her (the intolerant).
  15. I don't agree with that statement at all, or the other about him taking equally from the two main candidates. Anyone from the right side of the aisle who would vote for Johnson already jumped ship from Trump back in January. But of course Jedi would come out and wave the flag for him because what she really wants is for dumbasses like Raven to vote for Gary Johnson and get Trump in the White House. Her Libertarian BS is just that. And I don't think there's anything wrong with Candace being booed. If the audience doesn't like what she has to say, that's their prerogative.
  16. Well, I feel sorry for Candace and yet I don't feel sorry for her. This is the job you signed a contract to have. She was barely even there last year, and now she can't take it 3 days into the new season. And she's had numerous articles/interviews since almost the very first day she joined the show about how hard it is to be the only Christian on The View, when 1.) She isn't the only Christian on The View, and 2.) It isn't any harder to be a Christian on The View than it was for Michelle to be Jewish or for Joy to be a non-believer when they were the only ones at the table, unlike Candace who had Paula, Sunny, and even Whoopi who are fellow Christians she could lean on. (I have no idea about Jedi and Raven.)
  17. Even though I'm not a Whoopi fan by any means, I did like her smackdown of Paula and Candace on that topic. Occasionally she can muster up a coherent moment out of all her usual bluster.
  18. What did Raven say to Joy? I wouldn't be surprised if she was nasty, because she's been that way to Joy since the year before last when Joy was just guesting after Rosie left and Raven treated her like she was senile. I have to be honest that I haven’t seen much of Gary Johnson, but I wasn’t impressed. Not that it would’ve changed anything if I was, no matter how much Raven can’t handle Joy’s criticism of her wasting her vote. It must’ve really burned her because we’ve seen her bring this up before with that Pence & Teller guy and now with Gary Johnson. Doesn’t change the point, Raven, and you’re still stupid. I wish I could watch After the View. I hope Joy skewered the brat. I really thought we were going to get a diatribe in defense of Kanye when Joy made her comment. Thankfully we were spared Whoopi’s ego because Kanye does not deserve to be defended.
  19. God, I can’t stand Jedidiah. I’m glad Whoopi railed on her about what she is. One minute she’s a rightwinger, next minute she’s a Libertarian, she's whatever she pretends to be depending on what's most convenient for her spin. I don’t believe for a second that anyone who is socially liberal would defend Trump like she does. And her fake laughs and smiles, and caterwauling. F*** her. The show should be required to have Sunny there whenever Jedistupid appears. She’s the only one who never lets that repulsive troll get away with anything. And is it me or do these Foxbots all have an obsession with talking about how hip and sexual they are to try to overcompensate with the fact that they are all wet blankets? Elisabeth did it, Candace does it, Paula does it, and Jedi does it. You're not impressing anybody. Joy was hilarious when they had her go into that dumb airblowing box for the contest. And I couldn’t help laughing at Whoopi’s face after Joy threw down the goggles and they started reading the card. The rest of them were focused on the number on the card, but Whoopi was looking down at the goggles.
  20. And boy did Paula prove Joy's point about them all being liars with her reaction: "Your daughter's voice is phenomenal!!"
  21. No, I like them both equally. I might be that one person out there who liked both 5A and 5B nearly to the same degree. I can enjoy the show when CS takes over, but I can enjoy the Mills sisters, too. I know that's probably really rare in the OUAT fandom. LOL But, yes, they should've used Percival. I wouldn't be surprised if they introduced him because they meant to use him in the Underworld, but then just forgot about it or got sidetracked with Zelena's story. (It's not like that hasn't happened...) As for comparing Regina to Hook, there's also the fact that the writers have a conflict of showing Regina as being on a redemptive arc while also giving the dose of Evil Queen that made the show popular (which is probably how S6's plot came about). They don't have that problem with Hook because nobody's clamoring to see Hook as a villain because he was never that great a villain to begin with. As for atoning for his past, I'm guessing it has more to do with their desire to bring angst and conflict for CS as a relationship than their concern with Hook as a character on his own. By having him keeping a secret from Emma (with Ursula) or believing he doesn't deserve to come back to life, they are creating conflict for the relationship. Maybe the same might've happened with Regina if they had had real interest in Robin. Or, to be more hopeful, maybe it will happen with Hyde if he ends up being a new love interest for her. Shanna Marie, we probably wouldn't agree because I think Regina has shown remorse, but not in the way many of you would find satisfying as far as acknowledging directly in a face-to-face convo what she'd done to them. I think it's a problem in general for the writers that they don't want to have conversations or quiet moments with heart-to-hearts.
  22. LOL But I'm very excited by that development. Everything that's happened with them so far has been what I wanted since the end of season 3.
  23. Yes, but I'm not talking about Cora and Zelena's characters, but Regina's moral character when helping them. Isn't that an acknowledgment by the character that she's been forgiven for a load of things she's done to those around her and now she's doing the same for someone else that's harmed her? Because many of the things they did to her and her loved ones or planned to do are just as bad as what Regina has done to others. Forgiving does show how far she's come because she couldn't forgive Snow or anyone for most of the timeline after Daniel was killed. Overall, I feel like if the writers were going to given Snow-Emma-Regina a talk about everything that's happened because of Regina's actions in the past, it would've happened in season 2. Although now that you mentioned him, it would've been great if Snow's father had appeared in the Underworld. That would've been a good way to bring that up organically for Snow's character anyway. Bringing up things so long after the characters have already treated the situation as letting bygones be bygones would be weird to me, to be honest.
  24. But they did acknowledge that Regina killed her father in 5B?? As for the differing amount of flashbacks, that has more to do with the fact that Emma did not grow up in the Enchanted Forest. Her flashbacks would be hard to relate to the current plot because they won't feature Snow, Rumpel, Hook, etc. I agree with all of you that I wish the Underworld had showed Regina helping more people, but many of the people she killed were nameless randoms they were not going to waste an episode on. The only major ones I can remember are Henry, Sr. and Graham (whose actor was not going to come back). Most of the other notable characters she screwed over are still living. That's why we saw her help her father, and even helping and forgiving her sister/mother for doing similar things she'd been forgiven for doing by other people. As far as the 100th episode being Regina-heavy, that has more to do with the episode falling into the B half. It's always been this way. They both have major plots throughout, but A seasons are always heavier on Emma and B seasons on Regina. I guess the disconnect is this whole idea that the character hasn't suffered enough, which philosophically never jived with me so maybe that's where I don't get it. I'm not even sure if the writers could solve that feeling for the viewers who still hate the character, since every viewer would have a different opinion on how much and what ways she should suffer. And, moreover, I'm not sure how the show could work if one of the leads spends most of the series in jail or an asylum. There are plenty of viewers who can and do root for Regina, so I can't really follow that as a justification for why she shouldn't be the lead or the heart of the show. I don't understand how anyone can think Emma doesn't play the heart of the show just as much as Regina after nearly all of season 5 revolved around her romance and the fact that she didn't want to be alone/let go?
  25. I know this is obviously not something anyone wants to hear, but hope also applies to people who have done bad things and not just to living saints. Hope that there is always a way to turn around, hope that a person is never too far gone down the hole to climb back out, etc. Hope is a key aspect of redemption for any person. And that's why I think Regina does work as the flipside central character to Emma. They represent the different ways hope permeates OUAT: hope that good will triumph over evil, not just externally, but also internally.
