  1. Well…. That’s unfortunate. She was a dud as a coach and I'll miss the Alicia/Miley chemistry. At least Pharrell isn’t coming back (so far). I guess I’ll skip next season.
  2. I have to disagree there. Right when the show opened when they were talking about Melania, Jedi's comparison to Hillary defending/staying with Bill was the first thing to spill out of her mouth. The difference is Candace is brave enough to support Trump openly and be called out for it; Jedi's just fake and cowardly with her opinions. I agree. I'm trying to think when was the last time Sara added to the discussion at the table? I guess I'd have to go back several weeks, but my memory doesn't stretch that far with View details. But handling Candace's BS was nicely done on her part. What I want to know is why Candace would have been going to see Book of Mormon in the first place? For one, it's about Mormons--not her religion. It mocks religion in general, features gay characters and gay actors. I wouldn't be surprised if she walked out during the very first performance, "Hello!" llllol I thought this was one of Joy's stronger days. Her comments about Trump's hypocrisy in saying the media's rigging the election for him when the media is why he made it this far in the first place were immaculate. The best part was zooming out to see Candace's face after she said it, cue the commercial break.
  3. It clearly wasn't axed because it was a bad idea, but likely because the executives wanted more widely-known characters involved. No surprise they just had Cinderella (when a new adaptation of Cinderella was popular) and Aladdin (one of Disney's most well-known films) heavily featured in the first 4 episodes. Or maybe it's because Dungey just has bad ideas? Maybe since she forced them to change the A and B format, instead we'll get stupid mini-arcs of 4 episodes all season.
  4. I thought of Frankenstein, too, watching those scenes. That was definitely one of the more adult moments of the series, as far as being sexual goes. I was surprised they went there. It makes me more disappointed Hyde is gone. The actor was really great. I was hoping it was just Jekyll who would die.
  5. This is another reason I wish Sunny had been in place of Sara or Jedi if Candace had to be at the table--not just because of her delivery facts in general, but on a personal level she could respond to Candace from a faith-based perspective the other co-hosts could not (or would not) since she's talked about her religion before.
  6. Even Emma and Regina aren't so unbelievably close that they'd sleep over at one another's houses like Belle on the Jolly Roger. I forgot to mention last night that I enjoyed the scene with Regina and Emma talking, roles reversed from the Dark Swan arc.
  7. I'm guessing the Evil Queen side of Regina is looking back on the fact that she's tried repeatedly to murder everyone and it's never worked, so she's playing a long-game of screwing with everyone's heads--making Regina realize she's never going to escape temptation, enticing Rumpel to let go of Belle (his only real restraint), sending Charming on a goose chase about his father (likely leading to someone he'll be at odds with--my guess is Hook or Rumpel), making the weight on Emma to save everyone feel like an even heavier burden, reminding Henry of his cold childhood with Regina, etc. The only ones whose minds she hasn't really played with yet are Snow and Belle (if she even cares about Belle), but sending Charming on a possible revenge quest disrupts Snow's life anyway.
  8. Oh, God, not another week of Jedi and Candace together. Lord have mercy. Why can't Jedi or at least Sara sit out for Sunny when Candace is there?? At least Candace made her point about voting for Trump without screaming or talking crazy, thankfully. I'm glad Hot Topics are mostl fluff--for my blood pressure. Whoopi informing us that that was "My Girl" we just heard in the video clip they showed... Who doesn't know that song? And it repeated "My Girl" 4 or 5 times. Thanks for keeping us informed, Whoopi.
  9. That's because that one was an offshoot from this one. I still find it another case of the writers not being consistent. I know everyone loooves to complain about the writers letting Regina off the hook all the time, I’m just pointing out that Lily Sparks was correct that the same happened with Hook here. ;)
  10. Wow, I wasn’t expecting Hyde to die so soon. And I’m disappointed; I so wanted Hyde Queen to be a thing. What a waste of a good actor. Not enough Zelena these past two episodes. I’m glad Aladdin is finally going to show up. Seeing Rumbelle be hostile with each other was pretty unexpected, but go Belle.
  11. That's not as bad as the day she was commiserating with the other ladies about how hard it is to deal with all the fans who notice her on the street... I had never heard of her before she appeared on here and I don't think this show is going to make her a star either. She'd need a Rosie-Elisabeth moment to become famous, and that's not going to happen.
  12. I have to disagree completely. It's clear throughout the first two series that Violet and the others didn't think Edith could do any better. Robert and Cora commiserate that Edith will be taking care of them in their old age; Violet herself describes Edith's first interactions with Strallan (before he becomes a crippled eyesore to the family after the war and thus worthy of their condescension) as "Any port in a storm." And nowhere in Violet's dialogue did she put across the idea that she thought Edith could do better, just that she would end up a drudge/nursemaid. Edith did end up better off because this show is essentially a fairy tale, not because Violet and Robert were in any way justified in their actions. And I disagree Edith was settling either. It was clear she wanted him. Strallan allowed himself to be influenced, but Violet had an undeniable role in how it all played out.
  13. I actually find that one of Violet's worst scenes (from the perspective of her character, not in Smith's delivery, ofc), considering she had a hand in causing Edith's suffering in the first place. To me, it was just another example of the family's disinterest in her. Violet didn't really care about Edith's well-being or what she did with herself. Violet has many asshole scenes like that throughout the series (not just directed at Edith, to be clear). And, personally, I'd say Edith was equal to Sybil in series 2. The only difference between them is Sybil did her work as a nurse and Edith did hers as a caretaker. That's just splitting hairs when every job is equally important in wartime. I don't agree that Mary suffered much conflict post-S3. Her grief lasted all of one half of series 4, and from then on she circled the drain with interchangeable beaus. Unless we count series 6 where there was some small conflict over her internal superiority and arrogance blocking her path to true love with a man she considered beneath her.
  14. Sorry, I don't agree with one word of this, including the off-topic politics. Hillary's e-mail scandal is a nontroversy that isn't anything different than what was done by her predecessor; The View is not and has never been about a quota of conservatives versus liberals, but a group of women from different backgrounds; Candace isn't the only one voting for Trump--Jedi definitely will because that Gary Johnson script she gives is a load and Paula'll most likely vote for him, too; the advantage of Jedi's lying is an attempt to influence viewers (and voters) with her spin under the guise of being a supposed objective, undecided voter when she is anything BUT.
  15. I really don't care if everyone comes around on Jedi in the end, she is the worst one at the table and in the bottom three worst co-hosts of this series along with Whoopi and Raven. Paula at least owns her bullshit. Jedi is two-faced on every subject, and has only ever been genuine when she's caterwauling lies about Hillary. Even Sara occasionally gives nuggets of her real life. Jedi is just an automaton. If she were a Libertarian in any sense of the word, Trump would disgust her entirely and she would not entertain any notion of him possibly being president to shit on women/minorities. F*** Jedi. Can't stand her, and I'll be bitching about her until her ass is out the door.
  16. I hate that we can never get a break from Jedi. At least Whoopi is off for a day, Raven is never there, and Candace appears one week every four months--but Jedi is much worse than any of them.
  17. Jedi—when even Raven is capable of giving a smackdown to your feeble arguments, you’re pretty far down the rabbit hole. This is why I can’t stand her. She puts on this act of “It’s indefensible!” when it comes to Trump whenever they talk about his comments, but then turns around and tries to make this e-mail nonsense out to be a sign that Hillary is evil incarnate. Joy is right that people like her would be responsible for a Trump presidency, although I don’t think she’ll feel bad about it at all. No, I think a Trump presidency is what she wants. I have a feeling she waited until Friday to start this conversation because Whoopi most likely would’ve had a psychotic meltdown.
  18. My morality does not work that way. People are responsible for their own decisions, not the crimes of others. It's impossible to be “directly” responsible for something you had no part in doing with your own hands. Neal isn't to blame for any of Rumpel's behavior after being revived. There's also the fact that Rumpel did die to stop Pan, which would have lead Neal to believe that Rumpel had finally changed for the better and wouldn't have fallen back into the same behavior. Neal's case is a bit different than Robin saving Rumpel or Snow letting Regina live.
  19. I'm hoping Warren will run in 2024. I don't really know right off any other widely-known Democrat who might win. Maybe someone will appear, like Obama did in 2008. I like Kaine on a personal level, but would not want him to be a presidential nominee in the future (although if something happened to Hillary and he had to take over, I'm sure he'd do a decent job). I'm so glad Joe Biden never entered the 2016 race; never cared for him. I'll be honest that I'd be very happy to have Hillary in office over Obama and I'm so glad Bernie lost. I thought we were going to have a repeat of 2008 when the less experienced, more charismatic candidate won over the one who could actually get something done. I feel like, besides the obstructionism, Obama was just too inexperienced and naïve to accomplish as much as he wanted. He had good intentions, at least. As for the charge of her being a "Republican" in principle, I think it's just a fact that moderates/centrists like Obama and Hillary are the closest to "liberal" we will be given among our presidential options while the Republican Party falls farther and farther off the deep end. At least I don't believe she'll strike down gay marriage, abortion, Planned Parenthood, put through racist voting regulations, ignore climate change, etc. like what currently goes by "Republican" these days certainly would. I'll admit that while Bernie was in many ways more liberal than Hillary, his comments about capitalism at one of their debates and his socialism is one of the main reasons I didn't want him to be the Democratic nominee. I have a feeling he would've caused huge debt and higher spending than Obama--and unlike Obama it wouldn't be caused by attempts to stem a recession, but because of poor policy/ideas--and that would pretty much destroy the Democratic Party's potential to win elections in future and their ability to prevent the Republican Party from rolling back women's rights, LGBT rights, progress in combating climate change, etc. on a massive scale.
  20. Ain't that the truth. I do like Sunny to a degree, but I wouldn’t call myself a fan outright. Sara at least is inoffensive even if she adds nothing. If we could get Whoopi out the door and Paula back in the conservative seat, I’d say the show is finally more good than bad again. It would be nice to have Meredith back, but Joy does a good job as moderator. I'm glad that today Sunny kind of ignored Whoopi when she was about to start one of her tirades and spoke more to Joy. Don't look at Whoopi and give her the chance to jump in--she does that enough without any prompting. Nancy Grace wasn't too bad. That's actually the first place I saw Sunny, which is one of the reasons I didn't want her on this show for a long time. Even Joy looked bored by the topics they had today.
  21. Yeah, the caterer was my favorite for Blanche, too. I'd pick Mickey Rooney for Sophia. George and Sal were excellently cast, btw. I wonder why we never got to see Charlie.
  22. LOL Reminds me of her comments today. "That's only wishful thinking from Trump supporters."
  23. Sara is stupid, but I have to defend her on the Bill Clinton topic. She was trying to say--in regards to how there are people who criticize Hillary as not being a good choice for women either because she's married to an accused rapist like Bill (although people with that argument seem to forget they are just accusations...)--that clearly Hillary would not be married to Bill if she actually believed those women's stories. She garbles her words so much in an attempt to talk but not really say anything. You can tell it still bothers Joy. During that topic, Joy was looking at her again with that face: "Spit it out, woman!"
  24. I don’t know if it’s been mentioned yet, but Candace's daughter was eliminated last night on The Voice during the battle rounds. Which is pretty much what I’d assumed would happen when they showed her audition on The View.
  25. I have to disagree there. I saw the commercial several times throughout the week on ABC, and OUAT is the only show I really care about on the channel. During Dancing with the Stars, HtGAwM, etc. ABC always throws on ads for one of their shows during the commercial breaks of their other shows.
