  1. Well, we did spend a large portion of last season in Camelot and the Underworld. No offense, but that kind of show sounds a lot worse than the one we have, although I agree about them pushing back Emma's development to save the wedding for the end. It would've been nice if they had got married in the series premiere. Plus, I have a feeling the advertisement for a wedding would draw some interest (and ratings). And it would've been funny if TEQ+ had interrupted Emma's wedding just like Regina did Snow's in the Pilot.
  2. Boring show today. I did like the guest (actor/comedian?) even though I didn’t know who he was. The only entertainment came from Candace’s sour faces whenever Joy would make little comments like Trump not being supported by any of the living presidents and Groped Women Anonymous. This panel is just a mess. You’d think this season would have an easy job improving on last year now that Raven is mostly non-existent, but Sunny’s never on and Paula was replaced by someone completely unbearable. I’m just so annoyed that Jedi is there 24/7 and Sunny is barely ever present. On a personal level though, I’m glad for Sunny that she doesn’t have to deal with Whoopi Goldberg. I wish they were playing a long-game, and we got Sunny and Paula back at the table permanently once Whoopi isn’t there to terrorize them next season. Jedi’s only worth on this show—and I do mean ONLY—is when she’s steamrolled by Sunny. The added cherry would be Rosie O and Padma being there, too (two other people Whoopi didn’t condone being at the table because they made her feel insecure about being an idiot).
  3. This season had potential? With the premise setup at the end of 5, I was already expecting another dud like season 2. Honestly, this year's been better than I thought so far just for the fact that I didn't hate the first 4 episodes and TEQ grew on me. Not to say that it won't collapse in 6B.... lol
  4. Yes, and I'm expecting DS will be even farther down by the time May rolls around.
  5. I nearly fell off my bed when Moore made his comment about Christians who are always constantly shouting their religion, because it described the person sitting next to him although I don’t think he realized it when he said it. Of course she made the segment all about herself at that point, just like Elisabeth with Bill Maher years ago. I think the “if you don’t like abortion, don’t have one” argument is too complex for Candace.
  6. Not sure if anyone responded to this already, but that's an issue more with the Disney film. Jasmine and Aladdin's first meeting was at an apple shop (she nearly gets her hand cut off for giving an apple to a child without paying for it). I still don't care for the new Jafar. Hopefully he’ll die in the next 3 episodes like Hyde, because I just don’t enjoy the actor at all. Aladdin's costume in the flashback was awful, but he looked nice in the present. The Zelena scenes were the only good thing about this episode for me. I hope we see more Archie-Zelena interaction. Outside that, the episode was pretty boring.
  7. Who would argue that??? It was said in a serious conversation about Regina's reaction to Robin's death/Hook's resurrection. I don't consider it abuse either since the scene was depicted almost like a therapy session and Emma was asking her how she really feels. I don't think there's any evidence Regina's comment to pregnant Snow was made out of jealousy though.
  8. Different strokes. The comments you seem to think are shaming I find perfectly acceptable. And that type of dark comedy is the best kind, imo, and I'd say the friendships on those two shows are some of the strongest seen in television because of the way the humor works. Real friends know where the line between teasing and cruel is with one another, and that's the relationship they've depicted with the three female leads on this show.
  9. Well, I’d have to agree Henry was abused, but I’ve already been a part of discussion about that before so why waste time. The sassiness to me isn’t any different than the mocking jabs you’d see on Will & Grace or The Golden Girls. I find it so bizarre how that dialogue, obviously intended to evoke that prickly kind of friendship and give humor to the show, is overblown into something serious like abuse. People have enough perception to know when you’re being mean and when you’re just joking, and apparently the writers consider this the kind of relationship Snow/Emma have with Regina. And I find it believable.
  10. I thought they did more than imply it in season 2. I think they are genuinely friendly 4 seasons later, so it isn't just for Henry's sake anymore.
  11. Yeah, it's best to agree to disagree, because I don't think they are snide either. I think the reason they're humorous is because she's perceptive about other people, but completely lacks that same ability when looking at herself. As for the latter part of your post, either way, Emma knew it occurred because of the interference of time travel and that it wasn't in the original timeline. Even beyond that, I don't find it glaring it's never mentioned considering Regina wanting to murder Snow was not new information to anyone. *shrug* The reason I don't follow that criticism of the Regina-Emma-Snow relationship is because their relationship had an external justification for why they let the past go more easily (Henry). Belle had no obligation to interact with Hook at all, since they aren't related in any way.
  12. It really depends on how you interpret the characters, I guess. For instance, I consider Regina's sassy one-liners a personality trait and not abuse in any sense of the word, much less would I consider it "putting down" someone. As for the burning-Snow-at-the-stake that's brought up ad nauseum, why would Emma react to that towards Regina in the present? For one, at the end of 3B, the group had already tried to leave the past behind them because Henry connected Regina to them and the fact that Regina very much wanted Snow dead wasn't exactly some kind of new information for Emma. Moreover, it happened in a time loop--essentially, it never happened at all. Why would Emma get pissed about an event that never occurred before a time loop caused it to happen?
  13. What I’m hearing is this: Belle is unrealistically close to Hook, but who cares if the writing’s inconsistent because I’m satisfied. And I don’t know what your definition of being shoved down one’s throat is, but I’m pretty sure the past episodes have done that with Belle and Hook already. When you attempt to murder someone, a normal person would not have a different opinion about the situation because the attempted murderer didn't mean it personally. And, sorry, but I don't get this argument about how you supposedly can attempt to kill someone and not mean it personally anyway. He wanted to inflict the same pain on Belle that Milah felt--and, worse, for nothing she even did to him.
  14. We finally get rid of Jedimotormouth and get saddled with a Whoopi/Raven combo. So much for Joy(ful) Friday’s. There is such palpable tension between Joy, Whoopi, and Raven. They are constantly trying to put Joy in her place, and it’s infuriating to watch. I mean, when Whoopi was calling out both Paula and Joy about not wanting their kids to move far away, I wish somebody had the guts to call out Whoopi for a change—“That’s easy to say when your child and grandchild and great grandchild all live with you.” Like flying back and forth nonstop every week is at all feasible even for a rich person. And then they couldn’t stand the fact that the other women were talking about birthing gifts (or whatever they’re called), like what they think is the end-all be-all. Even Paula had to explain to Raven that they are talking about the mother, not the child because Raven was clearly too dumb to get it. I’m just looking at how those two expected The View to treat their birthdays and you know Raven would want a huge hoorah if she gave birth. I’ll be so glad when Whoopi and Raven are no longer on this show, they are just rancid.
  15. The face I see is, "How did I end up here?" You can tell she wants to be anywhere else and holds all the other panelists in disdain. She and Raven are surprisingly very similar--and no wonder they were cast almost at the same time--in that they are both in the bottom 5 stupidest women to ever sit at the table, but believe they are superior to everyone else and rely on facial expressions because they're incompetent speakers. At least Sherri, Jenny, and Debbie didn't have egos the size of China. I thought Candace had a bit of purple in her shirt/dress/whatever? I thought it was funny the two of them decided to feign interest in LGBT concerns.
  16. The problem for me isn't that Hook and Belle are friends or that Regina and Belle aren't friends. To be honest, I barely care about Belle at all. It's just the double standards. Regina-Snow and Regina-Emma friendships are OMG so unrealistic, unbelievable, the writers are stupid, how many times did she try to murder them, how could they possibly be friends with her???!!! But Belle moving in with her 3-times-attempted murderer gets an A-Okay. Is it because one character is Hook and the other is Regina? Because Belle doesn't push back on Hook for what he did to her any more than Emma/Snow do Regina. Actor-chemistry is not at all a problem between Jennifer Morrison and Lana Parrilla, or Ginnifer Goodwin and Lana Parrilla. The chemistry between those two pairs were the foundation of the show, so the argument that they lack chemistry is pretty hard to believe.
  17. How is trying to murder someone not personal? And he attempted it 3 different times. That's even worse than what Regina's done to her. I guess I can see Rumbelle fans' argument from the perspective of her being unbelievably roommate buddies with Hook even if I find Rumpel repulsive and Belle's taking-back-her-power scenes to be the only time she's enjoyable. I'm guessing a lot of the dislike of Belle's relationship with Hook from Rumbelle fans has to do with the way that relationship has to be viewed for someone to be a fan of it at all--that Rumpel is a tragic figure who's been twisted into evil by becoming the Dark One and having been abandoned by a harpy wife* for another man because she thought he was a coward instead of believing what he said about the prophecy. (I don't necessarily view Rumpel that way, but I'd have to interpret the show that way in order to really support Rumbelle as a relationship.) That's why watching Belle be friends with the man who indirectly helped to turn Rumpel into the person Belle now rejects would definitely make a Rumbelle fan salty. The appeal of the B&tB relationship is that the good woman will "save" the lost man. The show seemed to be following that trajectory for a while and they probably will course-correct soon, but having Belle give up on Rumpel and denigrate him (while deserved, imo) is pretty much the antithesis of the concept that would make someone a fan of that relationship in the first place. That's why I think a large number of Rumbellers likely quit the show in 4B. *I do think Milah was a horrible wife even if Rumpel is awful.
  18. Yes! I remember how handsome he was when he performed “Don’t Walk Away” at the Tony Awards some years back, and he looked nothing like that in Hotel, but he’s really slim this season. Too bad the character is slime.
  19. I'm sure if he'd said "Christians are rapists and murderers," she wouldn't think his other controversies are "nitpicky." She only gives a shit when something directly affects herself, screw the rest of us. If I was in the audience, I would've booed as loud as I can after Whoopi and she acted all offended that people reacted to her offensive words even if I wasn't one of the people booing originally.
  20. I would laugh if they actually got Jessica Lange back for one episode to play the original witch.
  21. Ugh… Candace the Eternal Victim Queen, I can’t take her. If they want to boo you, get over yourself. Joy was absolutely right that Hillary has no obligation to shake hands with somebody who incites people to assassinate her. That’s all I care to say about today’s trainwreck.
  22. I don't think that season was at a noticeably higher quality than usual. It may just seem that way because 4B was noticeably worse than usual.
  23. I have to disagree. Usher, Blake, and Adam were all dismissive and condescending to her during the auditions of their second season together. That's why I wasn't surprised when she said it was her last season.
  24. Sorry, I didn't mean to come across like I was correcting you. :P You write the best posts on this forum.
  25. I'm sure Joy mentioned that one day. I can't remember if it was the same day Clay was there though. Maybe Joy is a viewer of Bill's show and picked it up there? I loved Joy mocking Jedi's feather duster skirt. The interview with the ABC journalist/debate moderator was the only thing worth watching. Thankfully Candace didn't have much to preach about today.
