S04.E21: The Bank Job / S04.E22: Crime & Punishment
SnoGirl replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Brooklyn Nine-Nine
So I just finished binging this series, and this last episode was killing me that I couldnt go right onto season five. I felt like Jake saying "cool cool cool cool cool" over and over again. I'll admit, I didnt see the double cross coming at all. I can see Rosa surviving in jail, but Jake? He was crying just being in Florida away from his job and Amy. Really jail should be awful, so I dont know how they're going to make it funny or without consequences for Jake and Rosa. I hope the first episode is Nine-Nine find evidence to get both of them out. Compared to the other seasons finales, I had a sense of dread for Nine-Nine. -
And when I was a preteen, I was introverted socially awkward and would have killed for more characters like Newt in movies. Heck, you could probably argue Jacob, Tina and Queenie are all against the grain. I would have mooned over all of them when I was twelve. And I'm not on the spectrum so Newt was enduring to me...and my feeling wouldnt change if he was. Back when I first read the HP books, my favorite HP characters were Neville and Luna, I always felt Rowling could write a minibook of what was happening at Hogwarts while Ron, Hermione and Harry were camping the seventh book away. Im not bitter, I promise. Once again, Neville and Luna were different, socially awkward and not the normal types. I hope Rowling holds her ground. I want to see Newt all over the world with all of his magically creatures. And Jacob being an awe of Queenie and Queenie fawning over Jacob. And Tina being super confident and show us more of the woman who became the Auror. And while Im rolling on this wish train, can I ask for different ethnicities, more body types, and someone with an actual disability like limb difference or severe hearing loss. A girl can dream.

I LOVE that video! All the reasons he listed are reasons why I love Newt. But is the ending true? Is the studio considering demoting Newt for a different lead because critics didnt like him? Because I will be crushed. I would watch all five movies for Newt, Tina, Jacob and Queenie! No offense to Jude Law, but I am not interested in watching a Dumbledore vs. Grindwald movie because of Depp. I have faith in Rowling's story, I really hope she wins the day. We need unconventional characters and inconventional stories! And plus, you know, Hufflepuff for life ;)

I liked Eddie's performance because it was different. Newt wasn't the typical big damn hero, he was socially awkward, quiet and an outcast doing what he loved and didnt give a damn what other people really thought. Really, he's a grown-up Luna. I loved his and Jacob's friendship, I thought it wad definitely earned. I will join you on that small boat of your opinion about Snape. I never liked him nor how he was awful to Harry. I get he was bitter about Lilly, but man, he could have done more. Make better choices, be a better person.

I wish I lived in a big city. I dont think I could ever find the books she leaves behind, but it would be fun to look. I wonder if The Handmaid's Tale is the next book to be read in her book club...

I feel like I should have more fun things to say like SCIENCE BROS! but all I can think it why is Robert's shirt ripped in the middle?? Its dumb, but I want to know.
-
Well, now all I want is an ending. Whether its one episode, a movie, or the 8 actors all together talking through what would have happened next. Scratch that, I would need the secondary actors too. I just hope its not an article with the writers and creators telling us what would happen next.

I dont know if this is the right place to post this, but I just watched "Batman and Bill" on Hulu, its a documentary on the co-creater of Batman. I literally cried through the last fifteen minutes. I want to show clips of it now when I teach citations to my students. Who knew Batman could be used in the classroom? Did anyone else watch it?

What. The. Hell?!? This is hands-down a super original show, I cannot believe they decided to not renew it. But Wolfgang. They havent rescued Wolfgang! I cannot believe they're going to leave us hanging, we didnt even see the eight sensates physically together. Im crushed.

Jughead: Because how often do we get to name a thread Jughead?
SnoGirl replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Riverdale
Im watching this for the first time on Netflix and its curious that Jughead wears and "S" and his father is in the South Side Serpants. I know Jughead wears the letter in the comics but it is curious. A forshadowing to whats to come for Jughead? Or just another comic call-back...I have finished the series, so it'll be interesting what Season Two will hold. -
That quote breaks my heart. I want Leia to be the forefront of the last movie. Life is not fair. Maybe when it comes out, they'll spill what her role was really supposed to be. Those pictures are gorgeous. Is it December yet??

I liked the episode, but I wish we would have ended it with Iris taking a deep breath, wiping her tears and turning to the team to say: "We're going start working on fixing this now." Also, is this the headline we're been seeing from the future? Flash mysteriously disappears, even though the team knows where he is? Iris takes his last name even though he's gone? No more love triangles with Iris and Barry, I hope when they get Barry back, we get to hear Iris say something about how mad she is that Barry told her to move on.

What Whhhhat? Well, I'll say, I thought Agents was setting up some storylines like Bobby and Hunter, Ward or Triplett making a reappearance (I know the actress that plays Bobby landed a pilot, but one can hope), Hope crossing the dimensions, but all those expectations were all blown apart. Space? We're in space? I thought the jail was similar to the prison Starlord and gang were in in the first Avengers. I'm shipping Quake and Ghost Rider. Wow, that fight scene was amazing. And their shared looks, I know thew both suck CGI money, but man, I could watch them both kick ass all days of the week. Poor Fitz, he just looked awful all epsiode. Guilt is an awful thing. Loved the dinner scene...it reminded me of Schwarma scene from the Avengers. And Coulson's quip of "This is the first time we've been together in a long time." I think Coulson is sick/dying. Selling his soul might be too obvious. Radcliffe's end was sad, but true to life. One second you're here, the next you're gone. For a moment, I thought he got out.

This is my problem with the whole MU. You can have this connected world but never have the pieces interact? Even mentioning calling Ironman, but he cant come would be better. Having a board in Coulson's office of him trying to track/figure out where Captain Amercia or the Winter Soldier are. Mentioning a constant ruckus in Hell's Kitchen in passing, or even more daring mentioning something with Legion. But I just dont understand why they dont talk about those connections more or have people appear on each others shows, isnt the money coming out of the same pot? Or Hell, having some more leaders in command at Shield. They blew up one base and everything went to Hell in a handbasket. Where are the agents abroad? Back to topic, I'm really excited for this season finale, and even more that its not the series finale. There's too much angst with the dual-life story lines that need to be resolved. Im nervous Fitz is going to be sacrificing himself. Whose turn is it between him and Simmons?

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in the Media
SnoGirl replied to ottoDbusdriver's topic in Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Well that is sassy! I just clicked on it and it still goes to the White House's page. -
Why on Earth didnt Emily try to make a legit run for the border? Going around the block would not by my first choice of escape. I did love her short-lived smile. I loved the last scene with Nick and June. After hearing her admit to Luke that she liked to be on top, I loved that she got to have her moment again. It was a beautiful scene, I was slightly uncomfortable at how real it was. I felt like I was spying on their moment. On the shallow end, I absolutely love Serena Joy's blue knit sweater. Any knitters out there know of a pattern similar to it, I'd love to knit it.

Anyone have a theory on how Snart is around next episode?
-
These were my favorite two scenes too. I didnt think Wolfgang was my favorite Sensate, but this season he definitely was. He doesnt smile very often with the cluster outside of Kala, but when he does, he's adorable. I think Wolfgang has a special spot for Lito, I wonder if Lito reminds him of an innocent Felix.
-
I went back and watched it again just to watch that rescue. No Wolfgang. I was trying real hard to keep track of everyone, the full body suits made it hard. Sun, Capheus, Nomi and Amanita were picking up Jonas from his house. Riley, Will, Lito and Kala picked up Whispers. Whispers was in Parliment? I'm guessing Wolfgang is in another facility but close to where Will and crew picked up Whispers. Plus, I'm no medical expert, but after all that torture, there's no way Wolfgang is walking out of wherever he's being held right? He's going to need help? I was thinking as the second series went on, for all the scrapes he gets into compared to the rest of the group, he's never too banged up. I felt awful thinking it after watching this episode. How he looked at Lito and Capheus when he visited, was just awful. I was disappointed we didnt see them all meet too. Maybe a flashback next season? I kinda hope we have a language issue too. Wouldnt it be funny if they realized they were hearing each other in the language they spoke when they visited but in real life, its kinda a struggle? I dont mind the visiting, but I do hope they do get to stick together for a little bit. They all have such sparkling chemistry with each other, it would be a shame if we don't have them together for a couple of episodes.

I am bummed. I completely agree with this. I always thought this show was doomed because its on Fox, but I was holding out hope for it. I hope the first season is somewhere where I can watch it again like Netflix or Hulu....

On the News! The Defenders in the Media
SnoGirl replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in The Defenders [V]
That opening scene with Jessica, Misty, and Matt was definitely worth the wait. Between all the individual set-ups, this might just be just as great as the pay-offs of the Avengers and what's going on right now with Agents of Shield. I can't WAIT!!! -
I spent the entire episode stress crocheting. Fitz has always been my favorite, and getting him to the backdoor was driving me bonkers. Was it just me, or did we have a missing scene at the beginning? Where was Ward? Was he killed? How did they get back to the Shield secret base? That ending, whew, Mack always gets me in the feels. I feel like we might still get Mack back, but I'm seriously doubting anyone else leaving the Framework. If I was Daisy, I would have told Mack about the machine to make bodies back in the real world. But I still dont see how they could pull it off. Its at Madam Hydra's place, knee deep in Hydra agents. They could maybe get in with Hope and some agents like Tripp and Ward, but then Mack would have to get out AND get to and through the backdoor. Add that to the insanity that could be next werk from the previews, and I just dont think they have enough time. Now, Im saying all this even though I want Hope and Tripp back. I did love Tripp with Hope at the end. It made me feel, there might be some hope to get Tripp back (I know, bad pun). He has so much chemistry with everyone. Come on Powers that be, bring back the Funk! So Shield is all in trouble again right? That's what Team YoYo was talking about? Man, Shield needs to go back to the shadows, their business is constantly in the news. This show, this season has been the best pay-off for being a long term watcher. Man, I really hope we get another season. *crossesfingers*

That's Caitlin's comic story?? So much better than what we're getting! I would have watching that...imagine all the funny scenes we could have had of Caitlin cozing up to someone just to stay warm. Sometimes I hate the multi-verse/timetravel bc we can't rule people out as Savitar bc we know where oringal Team Flash were in the story, but not where timejumpers or versejumpers are. I want to vote for Hunter, or Joe. I'd put Cisco on that list, but I feel he's too short. I also wish we would have seen Barry say to Cisco, "You. You're not allowed anywhere by Caitlin. And you need protective gloves like yesterday."

I saw that too. I just hope its really true. Braun ruined the Brewers for me for awhile and I want Eric Thames just to be awesome!
-
Brewers can never have nice things (and its so Braun's fault). Eric Thames is on fire, he's one of four ball players to hit 8 homeruns against the same team in a calendar month. But because Braun ruins everything, I'm worried Thames is doping. I just want to cheer for my hometeam and not have to worry about my boys trying to cheat the system!
