  1. My favorite seasons are 1 and 2, then 4, 5 and 3. Shaw really was a bummer, wasn't he? I'm still ticked Netflix took it off. It was such a fun show.
  2. Just give us the not-Anna reveal already. Not-Anna (I'm assuming Alex) is being downright coquettish and that's completely OOC. And I thought Andre was some sort of super profiler for the WSB, so now he just looks silly. Why is Kiki still wearing that weird print thing that she had on during Tracy's goodbye? Everyone else has moved on to a different day. Did wardrobe forgot to tell her to change? Valentine forgot to cry when begging Nina to stay (idiot - good riddance!). Maybe he was dehydrated.
  3. I'm just speculating it as a possibility. Oh, I know it's his show. But how I wish he would do what you said and tone it down. Waaay down.
  4. I'd be happy with another season but only it wouldn't be the season I want. My favorite characters are Schmidt, Cece, Winston and Ali. My least favorite are Nick and Jess - the leads. And another 13 episodes would probably be all about them. Now if it were an even balance among the six then I might still be able to enjoy the show. I did a re-watch over the holidays when a lot of shows were on hiatus; it still holds up for me because I focus on the ensemble. I think my favorite moment from the whole show is when Schmidt joins in on the Indian / Bollywood dance. I really came to love Schmidt / Cece and Winston. ETA: in an case anyone wants to revisit that because it's such fun:
  5. OMG, Tandy is irritating. I do like every other cast member and if they get a fourth season, I'll watch. I'm almost always a completist when it comes to such things. But Tandy is killing me. I would have lost it on him ages ago.
  6. I voted yes. I think Mike will be the one person to get and survive the virus, which is the surest way to continue the existence of humankind. A recovered survivor means that a vaccine is possible. Now, if there's a season four, they would have to luck into meeting an infectious disease specialist. Or at least a genius bio-scientist. Dark as this show can get at the end of the day it is still a sitcom.
  7. When I was 12 I had to stay home sick from school with a lovely case of chicken pox. My Mom put the TV on a channel that was mostly cartoons or talk shows, but those ended and an old, old movie started. Black & white and with the remote was across the room there no way in hell I was getting up. So I had to watch. To this day I am grateful. The movie was "The Awful Truth." I will never crush as hard and fast, or "love" an actor as much as I did that day. And going forward. It didn't even matter to my 12 year old self when I found out that in current time he was old and gray, and retired from acting. When he died I cried. A lot. I own fifty-seven of his movies, and the goal is to one day own them all. I love you, Cary Grant. (He enters at 1:22 - nothing against Ralph Bellamy , though.)
  8. So did someone leave a bookmark in the Ch section of the dictionary? Before we had the Chupacabra. Now we get Chimera. Oh goodie. Jane's last week and she wasn't even in this episode. JE deserved to be on every day for her exit story but instead we get random hookup Sonny, with a mystery brunette, sort of Brenda type. Who I'm also guessing is the divorce attorney. Unless HBS shot a bunch more scenes we don't know about; that was an awfully quick appearance in the Valentine story and was hardly worth the visit.
  9. OMG. There isn't anything right about that dress. Not even one little thing.
  10. I'm enjoying watching FH play the differences, with just enough touches to clue the audience in that she isn't Anna. Like the first few times she answered the door she checked her hair. There was just enough of a hint that she was making sure it was Anna's hair, that she looked the part. Plus that's something that Anna just wouldn't do. It reminds me a bit of when FH had to play Olbrecht. I'm not so hot on the story but it is interesting to see what choices FH makes. Yeah, it's definitely time. Maybe with JE's departure (sniffle) they'll pick up the pace.
  11. The slam it and suck it girls! I loved those scenes; they were so much fun. Remember when this show could be fun? And people had friends? *sigh*
  12. Sometimes I forget how good JLD is at physical comedy. That failed attempt to get over the barrier so that she was practically planking, then Gary straightening her up and plopping her down was amazing. I love Richard. I think he's my favorite character; he's an oasis of sincerity in the middle of all the meanness and backbiting.
  13. My favorite concert movie. For a while it played at midnight at a local (no longer existing) art house theater and I saw it at least 20 times. Once my friends and I had the place towards ourselves - it was in the smaller screen room - and we had an impromptu dance party. I love live "Psycho Killer." And "why a big suit?" And I loved, loved Melvin and Howard. That movie made me want to believe Melvin. RIP Mr. Demme.
  14. During the Kiki and Franco scenes I entertained myself by reading the fake names on the items in the vending machine. One of the chip bags was called Cringelos. Spot on, props department.
  15. Ooh, thought of another one. Entirely different vein though - the conference on the mound from Bull Durham: (Sorry to follow my own post; the one above wouldn't let me edit below the clip.)
  16. In The Black Stallion, when boy and horse are stranded on the island - the part where the horse and child finally bond and the stallion let's the boy ride him. This always gets to me. That was one gorgeous film. I couldn't find a high quality clip, but there was this one (It really should be seen in all it's lush glory though):
  17. Now that I've just finished watching Selfie, I have a crush on John Cho.
  18. And I agree with you. Completely. x1000. I read this in an interview that she gave - an opinion that she expressed about herself. It was in response to Shirley MacLaine's comments after filming Terms. I was taken aback because she was so damn honest about it, right down to the sucking on MacLaine's toes during the filming of a scene (Debra was not in the scene and out of the shot) and bringing up Gere's without being asked. This was a long time ago, when Winger took a self-imposed break; she was returning to make Shadowlands (1993) and there a long print interview - about how she really needed to get her shit together, regain perspective, etc. I can try and find it, but it predates most online stuff. I could have worded it better - she was troubled and had issues she needed to work out. It was her choice to take a break. Difficult was a poor word choice on my part and I apologize. I still remain a pretty big Winger fan though. One our best actors.
  19. I've been watching Selfie on Hulu and am now thru episode 8. Boy, do I feel stupid that I didn't give this a shot when it was on the air. So cute, so funny, and I think I'm in love with John Cho (I was in like before.) He and Karen Gillian are wonderful together. Dammit, I'm going to be sad when I finish my mini-binge. And belatedly sad that it was cancelled so quickly.
  20. My Dog Skip. I cried for three hours. Then I started to cry again when I went to bed. I have not watched a dog movie since. I guess I can't handle them. E.T. and Up. And, yes, Terms of Endearment. I wish Debra Winger had not been so out there and difficult; she had so much talent and potential.
  21. I think my favorite part of the episode was DZ's face when Ned and Olivia told him about getting married. "Yeah. Okay. Whatever."
  22. I just finished watching. I usually read more posts before I write, so apologies in advance - I've only read the first page. My God, the look in Zeke's eyes: a combination of pain, confusion and yet composure. And then to hug Varner goodbye? You're a much better person than I, Zeke. Geez, I'm still crying. And Varner? Using being transgender to illustrate someone is capable of deception? Really? Fuck you, Jeff Varner. Fuck you. May I never see you on my TV screen again.
  23. I see what you're saying and you might be right. I just think it would have been the better gamble to go against the unknown rather than be up against Streep in Sophie's Choice. More on Chris Pratt - love him from P&R, think he's a good choice for franchises like Guardians and the Jurassics. But I'm still waiting to see if he has the chops to carry a "serious" film. Something I can't quite put my finger on seems to be missing; I'm not sure what word I'm looking for, or how to describe it. Gravitas, maybe?
