  1. This is going to come off as incredibly misanthropic, which I'm not really, but I've had four dogs in my life time and I think if you gave me forever and ever with them at our favorite park by the lake I'd be good with that. Jason's test seems as if it should be the easiest to pass, but I think - keeping the character in mind - it was actually the hardest.
  2. Took a peek at Genie's twitter and she looks relaxed, happy, and just plain amazing. I'm going to miss her and wish they had managed to work things out.
  3. I know it's just a TV show, but it bothers me that they continue to show Grace mixing her many, many pain pills with vodka. That's just plain dangerous. We lose people every day, with the current opioid crisis, who make that same terrible mistake. I see no humor in that. Jacob gave up too easily. But I still like the show. :-)
  4. Hell, there's an episode of Cheers where Sam and Carla are exchanging deep, dark secrets and Sam's is that he flips off the partial toupee covering his bald spot. Filming that before a live studio audience (who went nuts) and then for broadcast to millions is the definition of taking it with grace. And good humor, perspective, etc. I love Ted Danson. The Sam Malone towel toss was everything. I liked the episode; in fact I'm beginning to think they can't do a bad one. But I liked it in an "isn't this odd?" sort of way. A good kind of odd though. And now I wait nine months to see how and when Team Cockroach gets back together.
  5. Shut. Up. Carly. Just shut up! KSt is really bringing her A game. And I liked MSt today; she actually seemed to be taking her acting cues from Kirsten instead of being in her own performance universe. One more time: Shut up, Carly!
  6. Parks and Rec The Office Frasier The West Wing Friday Night Lights Chuck Sports Night White Collar The Middle Friends Samantha Who? The Good Place Bored to Death Cheers (First five seasons, not a Rebecca fan.) Community (minus the last season shown only online) Episodes Northern Exposure WKRP Cougar Town (Mostly the first three seasons)
  7. Entire Series now streaming - Thank you Hulu! :-) (And I was just about to bite the bullet and buy it!)
  8. This was the first time in ages that this show drew a tear. KSt was the standout followed by DZ. I even misted when KG said thank you, so simple yet spoke volumes. I didn't even mind MSt going OTT because that's who she is. I think this was well done (a sentence I wasn't sure I'd ever write again about GH.)
  9. I keep hoping that one day Glenn will clear his throat and say in a completely different voice, "There... that's better." I enjoyed the brief bonding between Amy and Cheyenne's Mom over loser, clown Beau. Then to have it turn and for her to use it against Amy made me a little sad. Amy's due for a win. It would have been an interesting twist for Amy and Brandi to become friends; Amy could use a real one.
  10. Me too! I was unsure if I should list it but I saw it on EBay ages ago and had to have it. It's crappy quality, but I don't care. What a jewel of a show. And I think the only comedy to ever win the Emmy for best show after being cancelled and only running for one season. Even after all these years, I think it still holds up. Do cartoons count? I have a box set of Warner Brothers Looney Toons, I found it in a sale bin for $9.99. I couldn't believe it!
  11. The West Wing Friday Night Lights Chuck Moonlighting (I almost never watch anything from the last season.) Boston Legal Northern Exposure Sports Night Trophy Wife (even though it's just the one season) The Starter Wife (I loved Judy Davis in this; Amazon had a special a while back - both seasons for $14.99) Scrubs Better Off Ted (If Netflix ever stops streaming them, I will find a way to buy Parks & Rec and The Office. And if only there was a way to get Murphy Brown...)
  12. This really pisses me off. I don't watch for the Trio of Stupid and Suck; I watch mainly for Genie, Finola, Kevin, Ned, infrequent Mac sightings. (Before last year Jane E. would have topped the list.) In the soap in my head these are the characters that should be running Port Charles. And now that Billy is Drew and head of Aurora, he would have been a perfect business foil for Ned instead of sad sack Michael. I wanted more Laura and Kevin Collins, not less. Or worse, nothing. Van Etten was just starting to show glimmers of story: planting non-mob seeds, more scenes for Monica, a slow build for FH and ME, Laura's mayoral campaign, and an occasional nod to show history. Damn, I hate the Corinthi. Frank is an ass.
  13. I cracked up laughing when MB leaned in to whisper the end of his line: "... smoke him out." WTF kind of acting choice was that? So weird. Free Joss from the sister wife clothes (that top.) Please. TB is doing well with Kim. I've stopped seeing her as a past Carly, so good for her.
  14. Anders Hove and Ian Buchanan? Are they both going to be on the show? I have mixed feelings on a Duke return since I've been liking Anna and Finn. And I was always Team Robert over Duke. Well, over anyone. I want Anna's HEA to be drinks on the beach with Robert (shades of Night Shift 2.)
  15. If only they had put the guys together in a band, and kept them there, a couple of seasons ago. Together as a group even Gunner is fun and that's saying something. I'd watch the hell out of that show. Rinse and repeat with Juliette. And she's so isolated from the rest of the cast. Again.
  16. I miss smart, snarky, competent Amy. But I still enjoyed the episode (except for the meat.) This past summer I did a partial rewatch of the Mary Tyler More show; I had a bit of a flashback to Mary's parties. I love Sandra's devotion to Jerry. Dina for the win - she's becoming my favorite character. I don't feel any chemistry between Jonah and Kelly; they're kind of just there. But I've always liked Feldman and am glad he's found a good vehicle (finally!) where he's a lead.
  17. The art work in Sonny's office is so ugly it takes me completely out of the scene. Not that I end up missing anything entertaining or important. Was that an anvil cut, when they said Faison has another son, and the next scene is Griffin? Now that would be truly weird. Bench at some point will be a big bad something but they've spent so little time on the character it won't really mean much.
  18. As a rom com fan, I highly recommend The Big Sick. I've seen it twice and, over time, think it will be one I watch again and again.
  19. I still stream on Pandora (free version) on occasion because I find that they have remained consistently the best regarding recommended listening. I have ten stations set up and keep it on shuffle all the time so I get a good cross genre mix. A thumbs up automatically adds for playing again. Plus, I'm loyal - I've been on there since the beginning and I like to be supportive. :-) I hear a surprising number of songs I like on soundtracks, both TV and movies. I found Barns Courtney from Burnt and have liked most of his stuff, and quite a few other artists as well (Cold War Kids, Moon Taxi, Cage the Elephant, etc.) Sometimes a soundtrack will also remind me of older songs that I used to play and I'll go 'Hey! I still like that' and I'll add it to my playlist. (I just had this happen with songs by The Buzzcocks, Phantom Planet, and The New Pornographers.) For daily streaming I'm on Amazon's Music unlimited. Already being a prime member made it a much cheaper monthly fee; it was actually free for a bit when first introduced (for members) and I decided to keep it. I'm already Bezo's bitch - two Fire tablets, the Fire TV stick and let's say hi to Alexa... They are kind of hit and miss on recommendations though. I have a rotating favorites playlist that I change up every month or so. And I just surprised myself - in my general songs library I have 9,051 songs. Even giving that's it's been a few years I'm wondering now how I have so many. One of these days I have to make a yet to be listened to section and find out what hell I've got. I can't remember the last time I turned on a radio. I have heard some pop, rock and R&B/hiphop when in friends' cars but, yeah, that can get pretty repetitive on the songs that get played. I listen primarily to rock, singer/ songwriter, and to some hip hop and reggae.
  20. I'm truly impressed you made it through. I remember dying of both embarrassment and laughter during the trailer. It's been a while, but I used to occasionally watch 15-20 minute sections of Ishtar. That's all I could ever tolerate; take all the bad things you've ever heard about this movie and multiple by a thousand. I guess I just needed a reminder, every five years or so, that Beatty and Hoffman could actually be that bad.
  21. I liked seeing Brit again, even if only for a few episodes. I wouldn't mind having her back for longer. She got off to a rocky, and very forced, start - but she grew on me by her exit.
  22. Oh, it was. I remember reading that Lauren Bacall bought her apartment in The Dakota for just under $50,000.00 - including a lot of the furnishings. When she passed -many millions of course. I'm just starting this, but am loving it so far.
  23. Josh Lyman: "I love Foo Fighters." Me too. I keep watching the Christmas medley on YouTube. Still smiling! Geez, I needed that!
  24. So sad to hear this - Green Thoughts, 11, and Blow Up were all albums I wore out back in the day. Also saw them live a few times; a very good rock / power pop band.
