And it's just laziness on Amy's part. Well, laziness and entitlement!

There's a funny story on FB (19 Scandals & Counting) about Amy scamming an Etsy store lady out of a $45 tumbler she personalized for Dax. Amy asked her to do it for free in return for her advertising it to her insta subscribers. Amy never did her end and is now apparently crying victim that the woman kept after her. The Etsy lady called Amy (who the commenters are now calling ScAmy) a celebrity. That in itself is funny!

Mr. BB & I are married 45 years today! It was also a Friday when we got married lo those many years ago. Our new loveseat was delivered and it's beautiful. Or it was until I buried it in blankets for protection from our kitty! He's not much of a furniture scratcher at 17 yo, but a new piece might entice him to naughtiness. We popped out to get some Chinese food and took a brisk walk around our town square. We're enjoying the milder temps.

I watched it and you are right. Jill does seem happy and relaxed. I'm so glad that they love their dog, who is very bouncy and full of energy. That's not always the norm with these families that we discuss on here!

I'm sorry you got hit with all that snow, @Jeeves! I saw a funny meme about the weather we're having today, chastising the weather for being tricky and springlike after trying to kill us last week! It's 45 in the Chicagoland area today. We're going to take down Christmas, including the outdoor decorations. Who really knows what tomorrow might bring?!

I found a podcast that covers Kindred. It's Black Girl Nerds and it's good. They cover other things as well.

Finally some comments and good ones too! A lot happened in this episode, but not much is clear yet. At least Dana's aunt finally believes her and she saved her from a bad modern day situation. I do wonder where they found Olivia. Is she by the accident site? I would have thought she'd be with Dana, since she was lying on top of her, trying to protect her. Is she alive in present time? Is she no older than the day she disappeared? I don't know if I'll even care by the time another season rolls around. I thought Tom was going to find Kevin's phone and that everyone would think Dana was a witch or something. I've probably seen too much Outlander! I thought that Alice might be the ancestor, since that little girl showed so much spunk when Kevin was with her at Olivia's cabin. I wonder too, if the nosy neighbor lady is tied in somehow? She mentioned someone from her past - a sister she hadn't heard from in years. It would be interesting if her ancestor was Margaret! 'll have to go back and watch that part and look to see Kevin's hair graying in his last scene. Missed that, though Alice looked older.

Christmas celebrations continue. Today our youngest and her husband are coming. Tomorrow is her birthday, so it's a double celebration. Our anniversary is on the 30th, so we are also having a loveseat delivered today. It's our anniversary gift to each other. We have a delivery window of 9am-9pm; hopefully that window will shrink as the delivery guys start their day! Anyway, we're not planning on going anywhere today. We got a bit more snowfall overnight and it's snowing right now. Can't wait to see my baby, who is about to turn 36! I hope every small talker is doing well today!

I'll probably see this season through, but I don't think I'll bother with another season. This is really not a well done program, imo. It's a shame. It probably could have been a good movie. I guess the show runners think our ancestors were very gullible. Kevin and Dana are doing very little to adapt to the time period. At least Dana is now wearing period clothes, but Kevin continues to skulk around in his regular clothes for much of the episode.

I am either the only one watching or the only one watching one episode at a time! I can't figure out exactly where this is going (even though I read the book this is based on). I guess Dana is afraid she'll never be born if her direct ancestor is sold? Dana trying to move the chess pieces that make up her past is rather confusing. At first I thought Dana was going to accidentally get Winnie killed. I was thinking, "What about her descendants!?" I think Olivia will look out for her. Keeping the very unpleasant Rufus safe seems to be her focus. It's jarring to me that all of these people in the antebellum South don't much mind Dana running around in pants and Kevin's odd apparel and tattoos. Kevin needs to put away his iPhone before someone sees it. I could have done without all of the vomit scenes. At least Dana and her Mom finally hugged. I was beginning to wonder why there is no warmth in that relationship.

One of my friends came down with Covid on Wednesday. At first she was still texting me and making comments in our group thread. Yesterday she didn't respond in either. I'm sure she's wiped out and sleeping a lot, but I can't help but worry about her. She is on an antibiotic to relieve symptoms (Paxlovid? or whatever the latest treatment is). She's very sad about missing Christmas with her family. Please keep her in your throughts & prayers.

We're just watching one episode per night. Boy, those neighbors are annoying as is their "neighborhood chat". I keep worrying that Dana and possibly Kevin will be killed by police due to their neighbors wild speculations. I do appreciate that Dana's black eye causes concern that she is abused by him. But really? Opening the door and peeking in your brand new neighbor's house, then spreading unfounded gossip? Kind of over the top! I can't figure out what the deal is with Kevin. He seemsto be hiding something that his sister is aware of. Mental issues? Recently deceased wife? I'm not sure, but it does look as if he's going back to the past whether he likes it or not! '

I read the book years ago too and I think I like the idea of setting it in the present (well, part of the time anyway!). I kind of don't like Dana as she's been introduced. I agreed with the aunt that she was doing impulsive things with her inheritance. If I had never read the book, I'd have thought that the time traveling was related to the new house. I love that they tied in her mother, stuck in the past. I was surprised mother and daughter didn't hug though. Even if you thought you were dreaming, wouldn't you take the opportunity to hug your long dead mother or that the mother would hug her trapped in time daughter? The scenes in the past were terrifying.

These changes are going to take some getting used to!
