S33.E13: I'm Going For A Million Bucks / S33.E14: Reunion
alexa replied to Tara Ariano's topic in Survivor
I can't really answer this because I didn't see it at all that he exploited his mom. I fully believe his mom and family wanted him to do this. It was clear throughout the season how hard it was for him, but at the same time he was glad to have something he could do for his mom. And then at the end for him to spill out the story--did it help him win? Sure, but it was clear to everyone there how he really felt, how the situation impacted him, etc. I just don't see it quite as negatively as described in the question above. -
They were in Europe for quite a while at some point this year. She had some event she was hosting and then they must have travelled all over because she posted a lot of pics on her instagram. I remember wondering how on earth they could afford such a long time there since the whole family went.

I saw part of yesterday's show and was so confused about how it went from a story of a dysfunctional family to selling Dr. Stork's book, and how that would help them? I rewound back to see if weight was ever mentioned in the family's story, and I didn't catch that but maybe I missed something. Dr. Phil is just crazy with how he sells stuff....this was a bit much, and I am sure the family felt shafted. I also didn't like how they outright just came out and told them they were fat, as if they needed someone to tell them they were overweight. It was kind of mean, esp to do it to the dad from a picture from the video.

I am so happy with this final 6 as well. There are a couple hanger-onners (I include Ken and Brent in this group).... but overall I like everyone reasonably enough. I love how the game keeps changing up in regard to who votes with who (in some regard), and there have been a lot of surprises without a lot of hurt feelings. Now, that is how Survivor should be played. I think last season and this one have been a nice change with how the voting has taken place. I really like Jay, and I like Adam as well. I like that they have had a complicated relationship but still take the time to talk to each other and figure each other out.

I am never a big fan of the pics photographers like to take with everyone looking at each other. I am a traditionalist--if you are going to pay for pics, let's look at the camera and see everyone's faces. lol.

S02.E06: Who Needs Josh When You Have A Girl Group?
alexa replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in Crazy Ex-Girlfriend [V]
I pretty much hated this episode. I just really disliked Rebecca and everything she has done in regard to her relationship with Paula lately. The awkwardness she created at the forced party and then looking at her phone, etc just was all wrong. I also didn't like how she involved everyone in what she saw on her phone. I just feel like she is never going to grow up and it is very wearing to watch. -
Yes, I saw that too! Their main cake was a donut cake, but I saw that small cake with the logo. lol

I meant to add to my earlier post that Nova is simply beautiful and adorable. Her parents might be annoying but she sure is a cutie! :-)

I just saw this reunion and you are all right....Dr drew is clueless about Gary and Amber. He always seems to find a way to suggest a stupid solution to at least half the cast members. Drives me nuts.

I totally agree that Deb's boyfriend is all kinds of scary and very odd. He had no right to go on about someone's deficiencies on their first meeting, and the hug was creepy. I would have said, please do not hug me....a handshake will do just fine! And then I would have told mother that I would never want to see him again.... ugh! I also think Amber is silly to think surgery will fix everything, but that is Amber. Does she think if she is "fixed" she can't ever gain weight again? And plus she isn't really losing weight from this surgery...it is still mostly there. Good luck with that Amber.

I loved Amber talking about her posh neighborhood to Leah and then how the next scene is them sitting in their garage! Lol! I also noticed there was something wrong with one of Ryan's eyes at the end of the show so I guess that explains the sunglasses. I do feel bad for Ryan's girlfriend showing her underwear....

Thanks all. I pay enough for our cable package and really only have a certain amount of time for tv. We rarely watch movies and so far none of the Netflix original programming has tempted me. Plus I would never want to watch tv on devices...I prefer the tv. So I just don't want the hassle for something I wouldn't use. GG will just have to wait until they release it to DVD.

Does Netflix eventually put their shows on DVD to be purchased? I am so bummed I can't see this but I don't want Netflix.

I think Laurie is a sweet girl, but I am just not a fan of her dancing most of the time. It always comes across as frantic instead of fluid for me. I do like her energy and presence, however. The freestyle was cheesy in the beginning for me, but then some of the choreography I kind of liked as the song went on.... I prefer James and Sharna's style much more...I am hoping they win it.

Wow, that is interesting. I haven't been watching, but after reading this I checked out online stories and there are all sorts of them discussing this. It just goes to show how stupid they were for doing a reality show in the first place to show their relationship...I am sure Lauren is thrilled to be rejected like this in front of many.

Well, I ditched this show after a few episodes, so it is all good. Glad it is a story you are interested in, and hope you continue to enjoy it.

I totally agree about the SAHM thing...if you are going to do it, do it right, and Cate is not doing it right, at all. She should go work for the sole purpose that her daughter would be better off--she would have the chance to be in an engaging environment, and see her mom actually DO SOMETHING.
-
I totally agree about the Erica situation...she should not be riding this storyline out as if she has no other options. Her character is too strong to be the girl that has to look like a loser every day at school, esp at the hands of 2 characters that are much more meaningless. Last season the Goldbergs really hit it in most episodes...funny, touching, etc. This year they are struggling. I hope it comes around as they still have some room for good storylines.

To be fair we only saw them drop off the kids in that one scene. Most other scenes Maci is at home interacting with and feeding her children. So, as to how much they go to daycare we don't know, but I don't get the sense it is an all day thing every day. If it is I could give these 2 the benefit of the doubt that there is a reason compared to all of the other moms who really show very little care for their children. As for the Bud Light, honestly if she is not drunk all day long while caring for them, as grown adults it is up to them how they spend their free time. It really is no different from the cocktails that parents of my generation had on a regular basis. I am not a huge drinker at all, so I understand your comment, but also think drinking is okay in moderation....and as long as it doesn't interfere with your life.

On the topic of Maci, I do have to say each episode I notice how she is such a calm and loving mother. She is really good with her children...when she feeds her babies, she looks like she is actually participating in it versus just throwing them a bottle as the others do. I also think she attempts to think about how they feel about situations, such as Bentley, trying to protect them when she can. I do think she can be annoying, but at the same time Taylor and Maci are showing themselves to be great parents. Farrah has changed somewhat this season. She occasionally sounds normal and totally confuses me. Then she goes back to her crazy self, but I do see some changes in how she interacts with people. Now, her firing of that employee was simply odd. Take off the glasses and learn some grammar.

S23: Maureen McCormick: It's Marcia On The Dance Floor!

Re: her neck. It is really noticeable, and has made me extra conscious of putting the moisturizer/sunscreen in that area daily. But I wonder is that normal for her age because I don't know that I have ever noticed anyone's neck that much before when they get older. I don't know if it is a genetic thing in her family or if she really took awful care of her skin growing up?
