Ed and Rosemarie: The Long and the Short of It
monagatuna replied to OnceSane's topic in The Couples (Spoilers)
Best scene on any of the 90 days that I've seen so far (besides Kenny and Armando's wedding and anything with Erika--oh, and Pole running). -
CA here, and in the two weeks my county lifted indoor mask restrictions, I promptly caught COVID and only now, five months later, am I feeling back to normal. Now I wear a mask indoors everywhere unless it's a party where I know everyone is vaccinated and not exhibiting symptoms (or better, recently tested negative). Meanwhile, my mom (from WV) came to visit and I had to remind her every time we went in a shop to put her mask on. It's different everywhere you go--and I assume Flagstaff is relatively lax. I just hope this entire season isn't spent on rehashing ancient, outdated COVID guidelines. We've all had quite enough. Let's get to the good stuff--Christine's flight for freedom!

I mean really, in all likelihood they never celebrated Thanksgiving because Whit doesn't like turkey and pie, and in fact forgets to eat most days, right? And of course if Whitney is not going to eat, no one else should, either. -

I know how this feels and I am so sorry you had to go through this. I hope you are doing well now and wish you (and Ysabel(?)) the very best for the future.

I'm sure they'd end up having a flat tire somehow.

Christine Brown Woolley: Nacho Sister Wife Anymore
monagatuna replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
I never really watched the show in real time, but it's on right now and it's the one where Kody refuses to let Christine's kid--the one with scoliosis--go to get surgery, determining that he is smarter than the doctors who agree she needs the surgery now, and won't let her go because of the pandemic (never mind that her condition has been worsening since long before the pandemic, but nooooo, they needed another McMansion to decorate with Live Laugh Love signs). It was utterly heartbreaking to watch her say "I don't want to go get surgery alone," to which Christine replied, "no, I would go with you, I won't let that happen to you. I wouldn't do that to you." Camera pans to Kody glaring at them because he knows he is the one allowing this to happen to her. He's disgusting and I hate him. I hope that girl got her surgery and is flourishing. -

Part of me is like...ew, gross...but part of me is like, well, we DO need to destigmatize women's pleasure...just...could someone else take it on? Like, anyone else? -
Kody Brown: The Man Who Survived a KNIFE to the KIDNEYS!
monagatuna replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
It sure is--I've lost hair twice in three years for various reasons and had covid over the summer--I am counting every strand that falls from my head worrying about losing more. But I don't think that's Kody's problem ;-) -
Kody Brown: The Man Who Survived a KNIFE to the KIDNEYS!

Hello, have you met Mormon names? Not a thing about them makes sense. I can't see "Mykelti" without pronouncing it in my head with a long Y sound. Also, I get that naming kids after people is a thing, not my cup of tea but whatever, but this sort of letter salad to honor seventeen different individuals is just weird. Buy her a potted plant or something, don't assign a letter of your kid's name to "honor" her along with a dozen other people she'll barely know. -
Same for me. I have a very loose definition of cults, but some of the more extreme ones, like FLDS, is pretty fascinating and scary to me. However, as people were discussing whether they watched the show or not, it made me realize I never really got into watching this show. I actually thought they were bio sisters (excepting Robyn) for a long time, and didn't get to see the horrifying Christine vocal act, or the catfish drama, go down in real time. I mostly just participate on the boards, and end up having to google some of the references I don't get. Occasionally when I need brain candy I'll fire up an episode on demand to have something on for background noise, but I don't think I've ever watched the show in real time. And yet the amount of mental energy I expend on these people is really embarrassing.

Christine Brown Woolley: Nacho Sister Wife Anymore
monagatuna replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
I think the relationship is the bedsore, here--festering, unhealthy, unsanitary, and unsafe, borne of a body that stayed in one place for too long. I don't think Kody stayed in her bed long enough to infect. Infest, maybe, but not infect. -

Haha I've never heard that expression. I love it--it's exactly how she looked! -

I get it repeatedly, eyebrow lift, the works--I even got it in my neck last time. I'm a huge proponent. But I wouldn't blame Christine for not getting it here. As a previous poster mentioned, her face reflects her life, and right now she looks absolutely joyous. I can't imagine wanting to change the joy on that face. I'm so happy for her. -

This is all so true. I remain convinced that I'll never like her personality, but I do feel bad for her addiction issues and eating disorder. That's a real problem that will require a lot of hard work and treatment to heal from. But like you said, you can't get past it without taking that first step of admitting your problem, and if she does that, there goes her show and her fanbase, and possibly her fabulousness (in her mind). I'm not here to body-shame, or to shame those with mental health or addiction issues. But I do find it sad when people are unable to manage their issues, whether they be mental, physical, or both. -

Normally I'd have said a round of botox would clear that right up, but that is a great picture of her. I think those lines really work for her. She looks great. Edit: Not that it matters what I think--she's allowed to do with her face what she likes. All I'm saying is losing 200 pounds of ramen noodles really works for her. -

I'm sure there are plenty of recurring rashes that Kody's responsible for. -

There was also that comedian early on who aptly said (paraphrasing), "for someone whose life is so fabulous, you sure do cry a lot." -
Yep, and you only need three for the celestial kingdom, right? If your partial husband is not a narcissist, and is realistic and caring about the needs of three women (which....lol), he'd know to stop at three. But no one cared to see the personality beyond the ringlets, and no one banked on the Dark Wife becoming the permanently favored one.

Also LOL at Whitney trying a fast. Oh, wait, I forgot, she's already OMAD. If she even remembers to eat! What a liar. -
Christine Brown Woolley: Nacho Sister Wife Anymore

Makes sense. I only just learned that their season was coming up later this month (no idea how long they've been airing commercials, but it's likely a recent thing), so they probably asked her to sit on her departure and her announcement was strategic to drive interest. Even on this forum, everyone was complaining that it was more pandemic boredom. I only considered tuning in after I saw the announcement that she's leaving on these boards, and I suspect I'm not alone. -

If there IS an NDA, there are likely ways around it. After all, don't they already have a (lol) NYT best seller out about their early lives? A decent attorney (hell, a 2nd year law student*) could read any potential NDA to find out what her options are. *A law student would be incapable of maintaining attorney-client confidentiality and if the presence OR contents of the NDA are intended to be kept confidential, she'd get in trouble for sharing it with them, so I am not advocating this. Just saying that NDAs are fairly simple to dissect. She could probably read it herself and get an idea of what it covers and if/when it expires. -

It's a battery (common mistake to call it assault). A&B usually go together because assault involves fear and/or physical contact, and battery involves physical contact. So you can have both, or either. Here, it's likely only battery because it was a surprise attack and he laughed it off. I'm not a criminal lawyer, though. This show has been circling the drain for years, but this is the last straw for me. I'm no Buddy cheerleader, but no one deserves to be battered like that. I haven't checked social media or anything, but I really hope her ass is getting dragged for it.
