  1. Per Jesse, that was his mother but not his father. That was his step-Dad. I do not believe they've shown his father or really made much mention of him. He was also in the military for a couple years so I am guessing that he may have gotten some of his discipline and control behaviors from that if not from his father as well.
  2. It's like I can actually see and count his pores in that picture. And her...it's like she's melting right in front of my eyes. It's so bad!
  3. That's what I thought. It's just cruel to expect someone to go bike riding after a long flight like that.
  4. This definitely makes me think there was extra incentive to stay together.
  5. I thought it was said that he was Jehovah's Witness. I could be wrong though but I know MJ asked Asa about what religion they'd be bringing the baby up in episode 1 or 2.
  6. That was kind of my point in the next sentence that was left off of what you quoted. I said my guess was that, unless it was shenanigans like you stated, she may have flown through another European country before ending in Amsterdam.
  7. I just went through Schipol in July on my way to Poland. I flew from the US to Amsterdam (Schipol) to Poland and I was able to shop and sample. At no point did I go through customs in either country except on my way home. My guess, unless it's show shenanigans like you say, is that she had a lay over in another country where once she landed at Schipol it would make going through customs unnecessary.
  8. You know, I thought that at first but on this last episode I smelled a huge gust of desperate on her. I don't think its the same desperate as Danielle just a different brand. I don't think Darcey is as okay with the aging process and dating a young guy allows her to keep telling herself that she's young and desirable. Admittedly, she was extremely good looking when she was younger and I think she's grasping at anything that will keep her thinking the world still sees her like it did when she was in her 20s.
  9. Her face once the producer pointed it out was the most interesting part for me. It wasn't embarrassment at saying the wrong name. It was a look of "oh crap, everyone knows now." When I heard him say that I wondered if he was including the engagement ring in the amount he has spent.
  10. I could have sworn the person filming him asked him if he thought polygamy was wrong and he said yes in one of his talking heads.
  11. I felt so torn with him. He did seem really sweet and sincere and I get that he felt he had to continue to keep polygamy because he had made a commitment to these two women but ... I don't know. You are still raising your kids in polygamy. I can only imagine that being confusing to kids as they grow up to hear their parents tell them polygamy is wrong while still living it themselves. I also got a weird vibe when the younger sister talked about how she and him stayed up after her sister fell asleep and ended up getting really close when she was only 14. It seemed predatory. I felt for the wife sitting next to her sister listening to her telling this story.
  12. Yes, but Heidi Klum still walked around in lingerie which he has a problem with. I remember she did that with her brother or someone but that still doesn't preclude her from also wanting to model. I could be remembering wrong but I think Russ also had a problem with her going back to Colombia to help with the shoe line.
  13. I think this is the very thing that makes me dislike him. He knew who and what Pao was when he was with her in Colombia. He knew she liked to dress sexy, go out and party and I am assuming wanted to model. He brought her to America, married her and expected her to become a different person because the values he has for the woman he is with are different when he marries them. I am tired of listening to him whine and complain every time she has a photo shoot or a job opportunity and how he needs to be on hand to supervise. Pao isn't following him to work to make sure he doesn't do something she doesn't agree with. If he doesn't trust her then he needs to get a divorce and move on. He doesn't get to treat her like a child who needs their parent on hand to make sure they don't act up. Either accept that you married a woman who likes to dress and be sexy or get a divorce and marry a more conservative girl.
  14. The key, for me at least, is who is considered the residential parent. I wonder if dad is the residential parent for school purposes. It just seems very odd that dad lives 2 hours away and you are going to be gone for 6 weeks and the girls still have to go to school. That leads me to believe that dad may be the residential parent and she has custody of the girls on weekends and some evenings. Then again, who knows, maybe dad is really understanding and accommodating.
  15. I am with you on feeling sad for Jenna. She really is a good competitor and I like her more than most of the people on this show. However, I was actually kind of happy that Kailah won instead of Jenna because Kailah may actually fight back and get revenge. Jenna always seems like she rolls over for whoever crosses her. I think its because she is a genuinely nice person and doesn't hold a grudge but I want to see players come back and screw over the people who double crossed them and that's not something I see Jenna doing. I feel terrible for her having to be in that Redemption House, especially with Amanda.
  16. I am confused. Why are there rappers and comedians if this is supposed to be All-Stars vs. Pros? Or is this supposed to encompass all BMP shows not just The Challenge? I recognized only 2 of the pro athletes. The bolded part I agree so much with. I lost a lot of respect for him when he was content to let Kaliah take the fall for what he did. That is cowardly in my opinion. I am surprised there isn't any left over resentment on Kaliah's part.
  17. While you may disagree, I believe like MJ that if you are going to be on a reality tv show that is supposed to be about your life that you should be depicting it honestly. YMMV
  18. GG said on WWHL that Asa and MJ went to the same doctor (she didn't say specifically fertility doctor or gynecologist) but it makes sense when you pair it with what MJ has said about her and Asa going to the same fertility doctor. I can't speak with any authority on how Asa got pregnant but my guess is that she went to a fertility doctor who may have given her shots or pills to aid in the likelihood of getting pregnant naturally without invitro. I'm 36 and never been pregnant and when I spoke to my gynecologist about wanting to get pregnant she immediately sent me to a fertility doctor because of my age. If Asa is 40 and had wanted to get pregnant, I wouldn't be surprised if she was sent to a fertility doctor. I kind of understand if this is something that bugs MJ. Yes, Asa may have gotten pregnant naturally in the sense that they had sex and got pregnant but if she had help with the use of fertility drugs there shouldn't be a reluctance on Asa's part to tell that part of the story too. I don't know if that reality fits in with how Asa wants the story to be told though. I'm not sure Asa likes to show people the warts and all side of herself and her reality.
  19. Mumbles, thank you so much. I might do a re-watch as well.
  20. LOL! That is exactly how I felt. I thought for sure Wes was going to blow it and lose but he didn't. I was rooting for Wes the whole time but I wasn't sure the universe would smile down on the challenge again and let John get beat by his nemesis. I did have to laugh at John's comment during the hot dog roll challenge; "You know it's a good challenge when I have my arm around Wes!" I died laughing because it's true. I do think John and Wes don't hate each other as much as they used to and now it's more of a "friendly" rivalry. Don't get me wrong, I don't think they're really friends but I don't think the hate runs as deep as it used to and I think they both understand that they have a part to play and are enjoying themselves along the way.
  21. I agree with this. Top Chef usually takes people that are insanely talented but most of the world has never heard of and pushes them into the spotlight. Iron Chef is for established and respected chefs. That said, I am not convinced that Iron Chef is harder than Top Chef and I think if you've been an Iron Chef for a while then it becomes relatively easy for you to dominate. I think you see the same kind of thing when Top Chef contestants come back to the show. They have an advantage over the newbies because they've figured out the quickest way to shop for ingredients and not waste time. They also have a better idea of what the judges want to see (same goes for Iron Chef). That said, I think the advantage for Top Chef starts to dissipate as time goes on and things start leveling out which, in the end, makes it a harder challenge. Eventually the newbie chefs figure it out and start standing out because they've had the repetition. Iron Chef doesn't allow for the leveling out that happens on Top Chef with new chefs because it's a one and done or a one and wait 2-3 years and try again. In the culinary world, I think Iron Chef is seen as a higher accomplishment than winning Top Chef but, personally, I think Top Chef should get more respect. They really put the chefs through the grinder on Top Chef.
  22. I know this isn't the right place to talk about episode 3 but there isn't an episode thread started. Maybe for this show and All Episodes Thread would be better since there isn't a ton of interest. I was a little confused by Veronika's situation with her husband. She spoke in earlier episodes about him having a long affair and that they worked through it and stayed together. Now she is talking about another year long affair that he had but in some moments where she is talking about the affair it sounds like it's the first time. Did her husband have 2 separate year long affairs or did he have 1 year long affair and the editing is wonky? I feel like it has to be 2 separate affairs but I know I've listened to her speaking in her talking heads and I've second guessed myself on the 2 affairs. To be fair, I am usually watching this show while doing something else so that could be my problem. I had to laugh at Tania's boat. I realize no one said a yacht but I'm pretty sure most were expecting something a lot more grand; I know I would've. Tania inviting Shiva to her wedding with a knockoff invite is pretty sad. If I were Shiva, I wouldn't go and I don't blame her for not going to the tasting. I wonder E! told her she had to include her castmates and that was the reason behind the rushed knockoff invite. I still really like Shiva and she seems like a really good friend. I'm glad to see she didn't divulge Veronika's secrets even though everyone knew she was keeping a secret. I do feel bad for her though. I don't think Mohammad has any desire to marry her but she is still holding out hope. I think it is cruel of him to propose to her knowing he doesn't want to get married again.
  23. I really like Shiva, Katie and Veronika. I'm not that big of a fan of Shawna. I thought she was terrible in the interview and I had to laugh when she dropped Lorenzo's name. I can't really keep the rest of them straight.
  24. Me too. I kept waiting for some indication that she wasn't really brainwashed by IHM. For a moment there, I thought she might actually be brainwashed so it was a relief to see that she hadn't fallen for it but had decided to bring it crashing down. I'm also happy to see that Shaun seems to be on Megan's side. I hope that stays the case. That said, I really hope Megan isn't still wanting to save her relationship with Kyle. I'm hoping part of her plan to bring down IHM will include bringing Kyle to his knees. Her kidnapping had his fingerprints all over it and he left her there to be victimized by this organization. He's as dirty as they are at this point.
  25. I agree with the "as a southerner, here in the south" crap. Drives me crazy because it seems like it happens on almost every reality show involving someone from the south. Plus, it's always in relation to something so generic, like "here in the south, we say thank you," or "as a southerner, we always wipe our asses after taking a poo." It's something everyone does but for some reason because a "southerner" did it; it must be different and special, but, what the heck do I know as a Yankee from the Mid-West.
