  1. The TV Shows on DVD.com website reports that The Grinder will be released on DVD (3 disc-set) on October 11th. http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/n/22710
  2. Photographer George Barris, who took the last pictures of Marilyn Monroe, Dead at 94. http://people.com/movies/george-barris-marilyn-monroe-photographer-dead/?xid=socialflow_twitter_peoplemag
  3. Sorry to be that girl #2: Jed's daughter who got kidnaped after graduating from Georgetown & getting drugged by her would-be French Royal, playboy, boyfriend is Zoey, with a Y at the end; not Zoe, with an E at the end.
  4. In the gray, subtitle-ish area for this part of the marathon diary, it says "Barlet" in 1 place where it should say "Bartlet".
  5. The Hollywood Reporter says Anderson Cooper signed a new deal with CNN today & he's now out of the running for Kelly's Co-Host seat. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/anderson-cooper-staying-at-cnn-935046
  6. Gloria Naylor, Author of The Women of Brewster Place, Dead at Age 66 from a Heart Attack. http://www.ew.com/article/2016/10/03/gloria-naylor-dead-women-brewster-place-author-dies?xid=entertainment-weekly_socialflow_twitter
  7. If you're familiar with the a capella group Straight No Chaser (& if you aren't familiar with them, I recommend them highly... Though I recognize a capella isn't everyone's "thing"; this is "cool" a capella though), they're releasing a new Christmas album, I'll Have Another...Christmas Album, soon (with the name Straight No Chaser, they incorporate "drinking"-related themes into their album/CD/EP titles). Jana is the guest artist on 1 of the tracks & it's apparently available as the pre-release download on most/all of the legal downloading sites. Here's the link to Straight No Chaser's Tweet about the song. https://mobile.twitter.com/SNCmusic/status/783001314938675200?p=v
  8. They started 1 about 10 hours after you posted & asked, it looks like. It's here in this forum, not separate.
  9. Josh & Hrishi recommend listening to David Axelrod's Axe Files podcast this week. Lin-Manuel Miranda, Tony-winning (now former) star of the Tony-winning Broadway musical Hamilton, & noted Wingnut, talks about Santos & Obama there. https://mobile.twitter.com/WestWingWeekly/status/782991557385330688?p=v
  10. Remember that tournament they had on Chopped awhile back, where 12 former (I think) contestants came back to play for 1 of 3 spots to cook against Robert Irvine in the last round of the tournament, I think with the winner winning a certain amount of $ as well? I just saw/heard an ad & they're doing something similar again this year--starting Thursday, October 20th at 9PM Eastern, I think they said. Only this year it's a Beat Bobby Flay tournament; the F3 chefs will go against Bobby Flay this time.
  11. Paul's hosting a new show that just started last night (Sunday) on Food Network in the US. It's called Bakers vs. Fakers & it's basically a baking-oriented version of another FN US show, Cooks vs. Cons (which Iron Chef Geoffrey Zakarian hosts). The point is, the judges have to see if they can pick the professional bakers (or cooks, in the other show) from among the 4 the show starts with, based solely on how they prepare certain dishes--do they think their technique(s) is something a pro would use or not. Each round eliminates 1 until the last 2 (or 3, I never remember) are left. Then at some point before the end, they vote on the winner from among those left, without knowing if they're a pro or not. If the judges select a pro, they win a certain amount of $; fakes who are chosen win a slightly bigger $ prize. New eps are on at 9PM Eastern/8PM Central Sunday nights. That appears to be the only timeslot it's being run in & I also don't know how many more episodes there are... Sorry.
  12. Minnie Driver was on Jimmy Kimmel Live, promoting the show, the other night (I think it was Thursday, but may have been Wednesday--good interview, in my opinion, if anybody wants to find it online). Among the stuff she said in connection with the show was that it's based on the real-life family of the creator. If there were 3 kids in that family, then there's 3 kids in the TV version.
  13. Not unless Mischa's a Latina. This version is supposed to be more ethnically diverse, with Krystle becoming Cristal.
  14. The George Cross is a real Civil Honor for British/Commonwealth citizens presented by Her Majesty, the Queen. Presumably Steve & Danny's were honorary & given because they helped Langford with the mission. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Cross Someone, somewhere else I was reading about the ep, pointed out that Steve wanted the plane to be lower in the air because he was actually having trouble being back in a plane, since the last time he was in 1 was when he was shot, almost died, & needed his liver transplant from Danny.
  15. I think you're in the wrong thread. This isn't for the Kids' version. It's for the Finale of the last adult version.
  16. Did you catch the 1 with just Steve I also mentioned? It's closer to the end. The McDanno 1 is more towards the beginning, I think.
  17. Here's Larkin Malloy's obit from TV Line, including a Tweet about his death from Walt Willey, who played his brother, Jackson, on All My Children. http://tvline.com/2016/09/29/larkin-malloy-dead-all-my-children-travis-died/
  18. By "military guy" if you mean Rob Lowe's character, Ethan Willis, he's a regular as of this season.

  23. The guys who caused the disturbance during Ryan & Cheryl's dance in Week 1 have been charged for that. 2 misdemeanor counts each for doing what they did in the type of setting (basically a "public performance" type setting) they did it in. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/olympics/rio-2016/2016/09/27/men-charged-ryan-lochte-protest-dancing-with-the-stars/91177104/
  24. Erin's off supporting her boyfriend, NHL Player Jarret Stoll, & his family following the death, over the weekend, of Jarret's nephew. She'll be back next week; Kym Johnson (Johnson Herjavec?) is subbing for her tonight.
