Apparently CA, NY, IL, LA and NM have some sort of Coogan Law to protect child earnings. I think it started in CA. I believe each state law is slightly different.

I tried the nice fuzzy sheets. I liked them, but my cat did not. She started peeing on the bed just to let me know how much she hated them. Problem solved when I put my regular cotton sheets back on the bed. She likes to sleep under the covers, and just didn't like the fuzzy sheets. She likes the fuzzy blanket, but the sheets were a definite no-go. At least it was an easy fix to the problem.

Bed Bath and Beyond has some really nice cotton sheets. Very nice quality. Boll and Branch sheets are very nice, but very soft and kind of expensive.

I won't be at all surprised if there is more to this story. We really don't know many facts.

Just throwing this out there. The microwave would be covered by a whole house warranty, if you decided to go that way. That would cover almost everything that goes out. At my old house, my dish washer was repaired a couple of times and it also paid for the parts. They also replaced a microwave. They replaced the stove in my brother's house. They cost a bit, but the security is nice to have. You pay a monthly premium and a service charge, but they pay for repairs or replacement.

Friends and I drove to Reno for dinner tonight, but we went early to avoid traffic. It was a thrill to get out after being inside for so many days because of snow. (LOTS of snow) I will probably stay up until midnight, but not much later. Happy New Year to all my friends here, and I look forward to many more "interesting" conversations in the coming year. Everyone take care and stay safe.

I enjoyed Lucy Worsley, too. (Her programs are "must watch TV for me.) This program is much more detailed as it took place at a living museum. Ruth "lives the life" on a somewhat regular basis. She shows how to make a stuffed boar's head for dinner, among other things, in this production. Lucy gives more of the history and background, Ruth shows actual day to day life. The two compliment each other very well. Although very interesting, I'm glad I'm living now and not then.

I guess doing for a Cameo for a cat is ok. We prayed for a sick cat one Sunday in church. The young lady who owned the cat is probably about 30, but mentally about 5 or 6. Her mom said she was really upset. I don't think it worked out well for the cat, however. The young lady was showing me a picture of her new kitten a few weeks later. In my house, cats are people, too. As long as they have their automatic feeder, they're good to stay home. If Christine wants to make money and continues with Cameo, she will probably come across many strange requests.

To those who read "How to Live Like a Tudor"--Ruth Goodman is featured in "Tudor Monastery Farm at Christmas" which I just stumbled across on TV. It is on TUBI, which is a totally free tv app. She and her "family" are preparing a Tudor Christmas feast. Very interesting. She is showing how to prepare a lot of different Tudor foods.

Did Josh have a close relationship with any of his siblings? I always got the feeling that that he felt sort of superior to the others. He always seemed to have that smug attitude, and did seem to get special attention from his parents. I just wonder how much support he will get from the others. It will be interesting to see who, if any, of the others will visit because they want to, not because he is "their brother" or are told to.

I really doubt that Anna has any independence on any legal, medical or financial decisions. I don't think that is in her job description. Her "headship" takes care of everything. With Josh "away", that would make JB her headship with control over her life. From what I understand, wives are subject to their headship in all things. My guess that all these phone calls are filled with Josh telling her how unfair the judgement is and that he did not do anything wrong.

I got the "private" message, too, and I never followed her.

I have a librarian friend who took a part-time job pushing the book cart at the county jail. She said it was very scary, even with a guard with her. She said the noise and cat calls when she came onto the unit were horrible. She quit after she got ejaculate on her pant leg through the bars of a cell. As much as she believes in reading, she decided there were easier ways of earning extra money. This was county jail, not a federal prison. I don't picture Josh as being a big reader or a deep thinker. I'm guessing, based on the quality of his "education", that his reading level is not too high. The kids don't matter as much as her husband. The headship comes first in their marriage.

Or tuna with bbq sauce.

Was the kid skating while carrying a glass plate? That situation was actually shown on an episode. I think it was Joy skating in the house, and she was carrying a glass plate from the kitchen to the table. They don't care. We've been shown kids riding bikes in the house, also. They live in total chaos. Forget "don't run in the house". Anything seems to go at chez Duggar.

She looks so "normal" in this picture. She has come a long, long way with clothing and hair style.

That "church" party did not look much like a party. Just bored people sitting around. And who posts a picture of an empty pan?

That must have been the year we had enough snow to make snowmen in Stockton. That was only the second time we had snow in about 60 years. I live in western Nevada now, and we have been given a storm warning for today and tomorrow. We are predicted to get 5 inches or so tonight and tomorrow--a white Christmas! Which means I am here and my family is in California. I'm sitting by the fire with 2 cats on my lap, listening to Christmas music, so all is good. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!

I suppose, in a weird way, putting a map over the tv is not much different from normal people keeping their TV in a cabinet and only opening the doors when watching. But normal people do not lie about having a TV, or watching TV. To me, it would not be convenient to keep opening and closing doors over the TV, but it would certainly be easier than taking a map down and putting it up all the time. I get the idea that JRod puts the map up because she wants to convince others that she doesn't have a TV. It is a bad disguise, however. We know you have a TV, Jill. And we don't care.

Those throw rugs look dangerous to me. Especially at the bottom of the stairs. And the corner of the larger rug is already turning up. I wonder how many people have tripped already. That's a lot of small rugs for a small space.

When my dad was small, my grandmother put him on the table--once. The table tipped over and the whole Thanksgiving meal went on the floor. He said he always remembered how uncomfortable he was with stuffing and cranberry down his neck. I guess it is a Duggar tradition to put babies and children on tables and counters. (Did Gothard write about having to do this someplace?). I am very surprised that we have not seen a child injured.

I think Spurge already has the "golden son" attitude. To me, he seems creepy. I hope he is not as "sly" as his uncle. I, too, would sleep with one eye open. Do the Duggars still have "friends" in the police department? Or the fire department?

Like Marilyn Monroe in "Some Like it Hot". She is trying so hard to sound smart. (I love that movie.)
