Janelle Brown: Smarter Than Your Average Brown (Maybe)
CalicoKitty replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
And Janelle would think this is bad because...........? Money apparently grows on trees for her. I would be surprised if the cost would faze her at all. This probably is her plan. This family has no money management skills at all, and they are certainly not economy-minded. They drive me nuts. (Did they ever return the rental trailers they were paying rent on?) -
Some people just have a higher tolerance for horror. I have heard church choirs that are absolutely ear-bleedingly bad, and someone always makes a big production on how wonderful they are. I still suspect the lady that had tears in her eyes while talking about how wonderful the choir was actually had tears for other reasons. I'm sure this is the case when the Rods sing. Either people really can stand a lot of torture, or they really don't know the difference. Maybe they hear this quality of music on the regular. (What a sad thought.)

I think it's interesting that even at her young age, Evy has learned to cover her right hand in pictures. That's the hand that had surgery to unfuse the fingers and make them into a useable "pincer". She always looks so happy and well cared for, and is such a cutie. I'm glad she seems to be doing so well. Especially since health care seems low on the Brown list.

I'm always surprised that Jeremy is so into Nike shoes. I would think Nike's political views would give him pause. Also, I guess collecting sport shoes is a "thing" for a lot of people. I don't begrudge him a hobby, if he was working and could support it. He is just trying so hard to be relevant. Working for and supporting a worthwhile charity and showing some humility would gain him more respect.

This is so ironical. Last Sunday was the 2nd Sunday in October. The pastor at a church where I used to live walked out on his parish and left them high and dry last Sunday, taking some members with him. I doubt there was much "appreciation" on anyone's mind. And, no, I have never heard or seen the Duggars appreciate anyone that is not a "sweet friend".

RE: Sleep Number Bed. I have had them for years, and I do not find them to sleep hot. They just sleep extremely comfortable. They make a good selection with different depths of and different kinds of padding, and in a wide price range. I never intend to buy anything else. I have found my "mattress fit".

Our fires are now mainly out/contained, so the air is finally clear again. The little bit of snow we had this week was just what we needed. Now we are contending with bears who were burned out in the forests. Poor things are starving and have come down to the valley looking everywhere for food. They are destroying people's fruit trees and going through garbage cans. Reports of bears breaking into cars have been posted. I have not seen any in my area, but they are in neighborhoods nearby. People are posting pictures of them in their yards. It is really sad. I won't drive alone at night right now. We are used to deer, but not bears!

I had to keep reminding my cousin to complete his dad's headstone with his death date. He lives within 50 miles of the cemetery. I live 2300 miles away. He finally did it after about 8 years. If I hadn't said something, it would still be blank. I guess some people just don't care. I think that is disrespectful.

Actually, only one of my dad's cousins went by Milford. Everyone else used either their middle name or, like my dad, went by their initials. No one liked the name, but they kept naming babies with it. Luckily, my parents didn't follow tradition, and my brother was not a Milford. Nor is his son, or his grandsons. My grandfather's middle name is now the common name that is used, and it is a good name.

Whoever here (I think it was here) that suggested the "How to Live Like a Tudor" book--Thank you. I found it very interesting and well researched. I learned a lot (and I'm glad I live now and not then).

They did misspell something in French on a top (I don't remember the details), but I'm guessing most of the people that bought it didn't notice.

Thanks @Rootbeer. That was very interesting. History certainly is repeating itself. My grandmother's Bible was in Old German, but she was born in the 1880's, and she spoke, read and wrote Old German. One of my uncles was a Lutheran missionary in New Guinea for over 30 years and did translate part of the New Testament into Pidgin. I'm not sure if there is a complete Pidgin Bible.

Christine Brown Woolley: Nacho Sister Wife Anymore
CalicoKitty replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
I feel that Truly is more of a "buddy" than a daughter. I wonder how much "mothering" Christine does. -
It might be worth it. That pair sells for $20.00 on Poshmark. Who knows what other treasures she may have on display. At first I thought these were Temptations from QVC, since they seem to match some hat-shaped tray. What an odd thing to post as advertising for the Inn. That would not be any enticement for me. She is so strange.

At first glance this picture looks like a very cute baby and her grandma or auntie.

Joy and Austin: This One Time At Family Camp
CalicoKitty replied to frenchtoast's topic in Counting On
They can be, but they are harder to find. My market is usually out. The ones from Schwan's aren't too bad.
