Wonder if Ted is gonna propose. That sounds interesting. Aria on a wild goose chase, what new territory for her to cover.

It would be hilarious if even Aria's split personality was trying to break up Ezria. I like the reminder that she's at least peripherally aware of the problems with their relationship, even if she's a child and thus not fully equipped to unpack them.

That's the thing, why would a vampire get married (especially in this universe)? Seems a bit silly to talk about lifelong commitments in that context. I got the same feeling that it was just an example, but you know enough chatter in response would have then thinking seriously along those lines. On topic, I'm excited that maybe they might be forced to end at 7 since they'd lose some people otherwise. This could be known as a show that got wobbly in the middle but tightened it up in time for the end, or it could be a show that somehow managed to find a new basement of suck every season and never recovered. Here's hoping for Kevin Williamson to surprise us all and return.

Maybe it's April's wedding, lol. I can see them all getting dolled up for bridesmaid duty, but yeah, no marriages between the mains please. At least not yet.

S05.E14: Through a Glass, Darkly
DigitalCount replied to AmandaPanda's topic in Pretty Little Liars [V]
Obviously the motive is something weird. My theory that is totally serious and not at all tongue in cheek: One of the girls was given some critical piece of info either on purpose or by accident (like on the order of state secrets), and then brainwashed so she wouldn't remember it unless the memory was triggered by a very specific traumatic experience. Unfortunately, the person who knew which girl it was and what the trigger was died somehow, so A has been using trial and error ever since to get the information. Because let's be honest, what exactly would justify so much dogged torture otherwise? I also wonder if they're getting rid of Caleb, with the "Aria has hacking skills now" storyline. I agree that it makes no sense for her to have had the computer. Speaking of, what happened to Aria's karate skills? She didn't even try to drop A from right in front of her. Get a grip, Aria (unless you're crazy and A, in which case carry on). -
The freaking trial episode. Yikes. I just try not to listen to what's happening during the trial and pretend they're just talking about cupcakes and football, because even before I went to law school I knew it was bad. And the big problem was that they framed the result as being part of the crapsack noir world where the rich get away with everything, but this wasn't about rich vs. poor. Lily Kane was America's sweetheart, gone too soon, daughter of software giant Jake Kane. The guy who invented YouTube and swore revenge in the last season finale is just going to roll over for a lawyer apparently trying to get a high score in Legal Malpractice 2: Inadmissible Evidence? Freaking what?

S05.E14: Through a Glass, Darkly

I don't know. On the one hand it seems like it makes sense and explains the fainting spell which otherwise makes no sense, but on the other this will be the fourth character that was dead and then SURPRISE! is still alive after Ali, Toby and Darren. On a more humorous note, how about the girls lightly jogging to the porch when firecrackers started raining down? Good hustle, ladies. Emily could have some sparking embers to go with the glass in her hair. -

Are we sure that the attack on Aria actually even happened? Just saying, it wouldn't be the first time she hallucinated something. The attacker never dropped Mike's phone or gave it back, yet by the end of the episode Aria gives Mike back his phone... -

I just always found that to be one of the biggest deals that they never followed up on, and it was such a juicy clue too. I guess if that's the way they work it makes sense that they're constantly remembering info in flashbacks that they should have already known. -
Morality in Storybrooke / Social Issues: Threads Combined!

I have a problem with calling Malcolm's death a murder-suicide. In my view Pan was more dangerous than Cora, and he had no problem telling his son to his face that he'd drop the hammer on his loved ones. That makes this equal to Cora becoming the Dark One. -

Heh, I was so thrown by the awfulness of Ezraboxers that I forgot something else that was funny to me: Aria puts the money in the Salvation Army guy's bucket and he gives them an A message? Why would something like that be left up to that much chance? Of course, it was Aria who put the money in, so perhaps it wasn't chance at all, but that would require me to think about this show and that's in the past now. -

Can someone remind me what it was that Maya knew? I feel like I've asked this before and either have forgotten or didn't see the answer. EDIT: I mean, I remember that she knew her stalker, Lyndon, but that seems like an odd thing to say in code, and it doesn't seem to fit. -
I've felt that was a retcon for a while now. Yes, Elena's blood should be really potent, because Qetsiyah used the power of Amara/Katherine/Elena for some random spell she was doing, and if anything it should be more powerful--the fact that Stefan and Elena were the last doppelgangers (and actually the last ones possible, unless someone copies Qetsiyah's Immortal spell) was what enabled the Travelers to do their thing. However, prior to last season they strongly suggested that vamping a doppelganger makes them no longer useful as a spell booster. But yes, doppels make undoing spirit magic possible, so Kai may want her for that purpose.

I honestly think this thing has been well staked. I don't see Stefan as being emotionally tied to Elena like that anymore. It was a long time in coming, but I think he was a little disgusted by her decision to mindwipe herself. Beyond that, he's simply over these people. He's essentially where Damon was in early S4 from the look of things, except he actually said "screw it" and tried to peace out once his brother died. And the most significant emotional connection he has right now outside of Damon is with Caroline, and his new nemesis is Enzo (he said without laughing). I don't think the pursuit of Elena is relevant to him anymore, it's a part of his life that happened and is no longer happening, like how Matt has pretty much accepted it too. (Remember how Matt used to date Elena? Neither do I) Stefan will clearly always care about Elena, but I don't think he's felt love for her in a good long while. I wonder how much of that is Paul Wesley.

I know Tatiana Maslany is still winning that particular fight, but still. So I realized that we didn't have a thread for other things this cast does, which may become something of a big deal soon with Kat Graham's rumored future (past?) role on the horizon. Thus, here it is. Talk about Degrassi, Lost, Smallville, Everwood, Prison Break and all that good stuff coming up as well. (uh, Cult was a thing too, I guess)

I would be so glad of that, because it would give the lie to the earlier comments about Bonnie and Kol, as if morality ever had anything to do with what decisions people make on this show. The only reason why Bonnie hasn't gotten in the dirt with the rest of these blood-soaked psychopaths is because the writers simply didn't care about writing for her. And I just realized that this isn't a "cast in other roles" thread, so...lol

It's hardly unique to the Dothraki though. Lannisters "paying their debts" is pretty much the same thing with Big Bro Clegane at the helm.

Things the Show Gets Right: A Positivity Thread

The best thing was how CeCe looked so sad and lame for assuming that they even remotely cared about that nonsense. Yes, sometimes the show works. -

Haha, remember when he compared Spencer to a safety school? Can't have Aria, so we'll go with Second-Choice Spencer. Freaking Ezra needs to get hit by a bus. It was bad enough that he was hanging out with them like they're his peers, but the idea of a twenty-something man stripping down alongside a bunch of teens for the purpose of sexually arousing their teenage girlfriends was more than problematic. Not much more to say about this ridiculous nonsense other than the thought that if we even get a sniff of Ali's "twin" or if those scenes were meant to reveal Jessica as BW, I'll be super-pissed possibly to the point of quitting. I'm absolutely certain that the twin thing would be the last straw for me, but other idiotic plotgurgitations might qualify too. -

Prelude 12/21. I know because I needed to know after that. Also, I think it was savingpeople that did a really cool Core Four video to that song (before it was called the Core Four) called Destiny: Chlark vs. Lexana and I just think of how much better that would have been than the actual S6 we got. -
I don't know how Hayley got triggered, but I do remember a Gilbert-ring bearer being resurrected after being hit by a car driven by a hybrid, so it seems to be limited to things he directly controls. Essentially everything is attenuated enough in terms of death short of a witch simply stopping someone's heart with magic not to "count," if you nitpick it. Getting bitten/drained isn't the vampire killing the victim, they die from blood loss. Getting torn apart by a wolf is just succumbing to massive internal trauma and probably sepsis. I mean, John died from a fall of several stories, and the ring resurrected him because it was Damon doing it. Furthermore, Jeremy completed his hunter's mark by killing Kol and his line in a domino effect when none of the other vampires were Jeremy's direct target, but Elena needed Jeremy to be the one to strike the killing blow. It looks like if someone dies due to an event within Person A's reasonable and individual control, Person A is determined to have caused that event, whether it is killing someone to turn into a werewolf or killing someone to trigger the Gilbert-ring spell or killing a vampire to activate a mystical tattoo. I can't imagine that if an untapped werewolf and a human were responsible for turning keys on a nuclear killing device that the werewolf would turn, but I could be wrong on that. So basically if we see them do a thing on camera within the camera's field of view of the death and close enough in time to the death that we can infer it was their fault, it counts. :)

S06.E10: Christmas Through Your Eyes
DigitalCount replied to MostlyC's topic in The Vampire Diaries [V]
He wants Damon as a brother and Caroline as a lover, as well as the respect and admiration of his peers despite his murderous impulses. It actually gives context to all those side-eyes he gave Stefan and Caroline earlier in the season. He seemed kind of incongruously mad at Stefan when Caroline was crying, but it makes sense if he's got a thing for her and he knows she has feelings for Stefan. Seeing her choose the guy who treated her like crap is salt in the wound. -
With TB, it seems like it's a matter of degree. I'd liken it to the situation when Jeremy tried to commit suicide in S1 by taking pills and drinking Anna's blood, but he didn't do it right so the blood just healed him. Presumably if he'd taken more pills he'd have turned instead. So if I had to guess, I'd say someone tried to save human Enzo with vampire blood way back in the day, but he was too far gone for it to heal him. Incidentally, as far as I know we don't know what bloodline he's from. With the cancer, those are still Liz's own cells in her brain, so vampire blood shouldn't just remove them. But if they were to remove them surgically while giving her (watered down) vampire blood for her to survive the surgery itself, it should work. Worst-case scenario, Liz turns and then she can choose to live or die on her own terms.
