  1. I think she’ll get an Oscar nod.
  2. From a cliffhanger point of view I think it was a good stunt. And I did think it gave Ross and Rachel some good storylines in the lead up to the birth and I loved the episode where she gave birth as would have been a great ending for them. Agreed though that after the baby was born outside of Rachel’s sister with the baby and the nanny episode which I did enjoy nothing much came of it proving babies in these types of comedies are rarely a good idea.
  3. Above doesn’t make sense to me just mostly because they needed a cliffhanger for season 7 and the “OMG Rachel’s pregnant but who’s the daddy” storyline gave them it... well not that we didn’t believe for a minute it would be Ross. It was also a good way to tie them together. The biggest mistake they made was not reuniting them after Emma was born because after the Gavin fiasco and then Joey I just stopped liking Rachel. At that point the writers had forgotten her good/funny traits and just emphasised how selfish she could be. chandler and Monica being pregnant wouldn’t have added anything in terms of storylines or cliffhangers.
  4. I’m glad we’ve finished this section of Lena’s Pity Party - The Revenge. What makes it worse is Kara whimpering how sorry she is etc etc. None of this was malicious and I wish someone would give Lena some home truths. Really liking Andrea. Although that could be my Julie Gonzalo love seeping in. Love some Lex, Cryer rocks it.
  5. I had hoped to see DeNiro get a nod for The Irishman. I thought he was really good and just as deserving as Pesci if not moreso then Pacino.
  6. Rihanna also reunited with him Didnt she? Or am I imagining that.. it was so long ago I just remember how shocked I was as I thought he’d been pretty squeaky til that.
  7. I thought it was really good in parts but they tried to do too much in one series. I think the doppelgänger storyline could have waited until the second series.
  8. This season hasn’t come to Ireland yet but what happened with Clay/Stella. They had just gotten back together in the finale.
  9. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again Ross/Rachel break up was the best thing to happen to both characters. Especially Ross. Rachel I found unlikeable from season 9-10 moreso because I never thought it was really called out how self serving she was. Ross though always cracked me up and I felt the other characters called him out a lot too.
  10. Agreed. With the exception of the lead character who is one of the worst Mary Sue’s I’ve seen in years the show is pretty good.
  11. Lena and the greatest overreaction in history continues. The whole thing is so ridiculous. Lena is human. Supergirl not telling her was for her own protection. This is so fucking stupid.
  12. Agreed. I don’t know what it is about her exactly. Having said that I actually quite enjoyed this movie. It held my interest. There was a bit of drama with the ex coming back. They didn’t have it black and white with her boss or the ex being absolute villains with no good side. Lowndes didn’t try shoe horn in a song. Overall it was one of the better ones. I watched Christmas in the Bayou a few days before it and that was awful so this was a welcome surprise. Only thing I found distracting with Lowndes face. She’s a beautiful girl naturally but it looks like she’s possibly had a bit of work done around her jaw which I think is crazy given she’s only about 31 and stunning.
  13. Season ten especially is such a phone in. The only two who I felt continued giving it their all were Schwimmer and Cox. Aniston looks bored, Perry was barely there after season nine except to react to either monika, Ross or Joey. Kudrow and LeBlanc has some good moments but I felt like they didn’t know what to do with Phoebe and Joey for the last season.
  14. Watching Her Magical Christmas - only a few minutes in and I like it so far but Jessica Lowndes delivery always bugs me. Even back in her 90210 days. She does bitchy well but I can never buy her as the super sweet lead in these movies.
  15. I remember that episode but didn’t think it was her?
  16. Speaking of Hilarie burton, I’m currently watching Christmas on the Bayou and the kid is driving me nuts.
  17. Wow poor Melissa. She’s amazing for speaking out so openly. I know she didn’t name her partner but part of me is wondering if it’s her ex husband.
  18. Lena is having the biggest over reaction ever to Kara not telling her about Supergirl. It’s ridiculous. The William/Kara inevitable love story is lacking any subtlety. It’s atrocious and neither actor is selling it.
  19. God Joey was like a different character back then. completed our rewatch and have to say the final episode is so rushed. They wrapped up everyone’s story nicely with the exception of Ross and Rachel. It’s like they suddenly realised with two episodes to go “shit we better get moving with these two”. There was no lead up or anything to it. Suddenly they’re just in love again and all previous obstacles no longer matter. I’m glad they ended up together but I think every other season where there was a Ross and Rachel cliffhanger there was a better build up.
  20. I know.. I could have handled it if Monica had jumped in with an apology while Phoebe was struggling to organise everything but she just sat there snuggly until Phoebe more or less begged her to come back. Eugh.
  21. Just watched Phoebe’s wedding day episode and I hate hate that not only was Monika an annoying asshole but later Phoebe had to apologise/beg to her and act as though the wedding couldn’t happen without her. I know it was played for laughs but it was so annoying.
  22. Ross alone saved that storyline for me just because he was so funny. The downplaying of Ross and Rachel annoyed me though. They hadn’t dated in six years but they had had a baby and seriously considered getting back together since then. Just one of them always messed up at the last hurdle. Rachel’s lack of consideration for Ross was unreal and as already said upthread, this was just a crush for her, One that was greatly enhanced by the presence of Charlie. She didn’t have any deep feelings. Ugh it was just so annoying. I just hated her during that time.
  23. I watched A Christmas Prince and A Christmas Prince Royal Engagement back to back yesterday and I really enjoyed it. Lead was great and even though I thought the Prince was a bit of a snore I could still buy why they liked each other. I preferred the leads father in the first movie to the recasted father in the second movie but overall I really enjoyed it.
  24. Just finished season 9 and started season 10. I find Rachel so unbelievably I likeable in these episodes. She’s so rude to both Ross at the conference in Barbados despite only being there because of him. While Joey at least considers and wants to clear things with Ross after they kiss she couldn’t give a shit. “We haven’t dated in like six years” - you just had a baby, lived together and considered getting back together this year though. She just comes off as selfish and dumb throughout the whole thing which I didn’t think she was before. Her laughing at the homo erecto joke is so embarrassing and was clearly just lack of imagination from the writers in trying to tell the audience that Joey/Rachel were compatible. Also she’s such a rude bitch to Charlie it’s just annoying. I know this was a typical trait with Rachel whenever she was threatened by new girls but I think because I bought her love for Ross more I was able to blow by her treatment of Julie and to a lesser extent Emily. With Charlie though she’s just meaner and nastier. The writing during this storyline really Took a hit. I can’t understand how anyone thought it was a good idea.
