  1. Tyler Anderson competed in Top Chef: Colorado. He was one of "The Bears" along with Bruce Kalman and (eventual winner) Joe Flamm, but he was the first of the three eliminated from the competition.
  2. Telegraphing: In the flashbacks, we see that Kevin and Sophie had a long distance relationship for a few months and that Randall and Beth were anticipating a long distance relationship for a summer. Prediction: It's Kate's turn for a long distance relationship, probably for a limited time or part-time. Toby either starts out in SF for a while and then can work from home in LA or Toby works 2-3 days a week in SF and the rest of the time at home in LA. Telegraphing: Rebecca and Miguel talk about how her meds are working well and her PET scan shows no further development. (The writers want to back off on the dementia story for a bit.) Rebecca says to Beth that Kate and Kevin don't even ask for my help with their kids. Prediction: Rebecca and Miguel will care for the kids while Kate keeps her part time assistant's position and Toby temporarily works in SF. I loved Miguel's eye roll behind Nicky's back after the uncomfortable "How you doing, Nicky?" exchange. It was funny because while Nicky's often weird, getting caught Googling your ex-love is embarrassing, so that was a pretty normal reaction on Nicky's part. Quotes of the episode: Beth: Leave the boots on. (Beth and Randall are the #1 reason I'm still watching this show.) Joe, the male model: Did you want to paint me in boxer briefs or in full nude? Rebecca: The latter.
  3. I thought Buzzy did a great job with the tempo of the game, which has been my only real complaint with the other guest hosts not named Ken Jennings. Of course, Buzzy's helped by having contestants who are used to the game.
  4. I'm sorry you had a bad experience with an Italian restaurant in Charleston but as someone local to the area, I can assure you that there are a couple of truly outstanding Italian restaurants here. The absolute best Italian restaurant in Charleston, Wild Olive, is not downtown but on nearby John's Island. Their food and service is outstanding and their polenta is like nourishment from the gods. Regardless of how the other restaurant billed itself, Wild Olive *is* the best Italian restaurant in Charleston and just earlier this week was again named Best of Charleston by the local Charleston City Paper. Should you visit the city again I hope you will enjoy a meal there.
  5. There was a "Bennifer" clue! Certainly filmed before the Affleck/Lopez reunion rumors began to swirl in the past week or so. Does the Jeopardy curse count for relationships? 😄
  6. I've got to admit, I'd really like to know the circumstances under which Gabriel left Tom's employ years ago. The first elimination, from the main competition, was before the full panel of judges, so no issue there; but the next two LCK eliminations were all in Tom's hands. I know that Tom always says they judge only by the plate of food put before them, but it really does make you wonder. I had Gabriel pegged for Top 4. He was clearly one of the stronger chefs in the competition. I think my 10th grade biology teacher would like a word with SCOTUS. 😅 Back in the dark ages of HS, bio teacher challenged the class to bring in an original fruit, one that no one else in the class brought in, and be awarded extra points toward our grade for the marking period. I brought in a tomato and won the extra points. 😄 I'm glad that Sasha is still standing. I do think she may be able to make it all the way back. She seems to be every bit as talented as the chefs most of us believe will make it to the finale. Here are the 8 chefs left in the main competition: Dawn, Gabe, Byron, Sara, Maria, Shota, Jamie, Chris. I think she could legitimately beat any of them in a head-to-head quickfire, which is what LCK amounts to, and she'll only have to beat four most likely, possibly only three depending on the way the producers want to handle it.
  7. I want Sara to make mole' in a future episode and ask Gabe for permission! As for Maria/Gabriel, I don't have an issue with her calling him an asshole (albeit a lovable one) for one reason: She did it to his face.
  8. Good Jeopardy! logic. Be it Diddley or Jackson, a Bo was going to show up in that category. It wasn't even the image of Bo Diddley himself; it was the photo of his famous rectangular guitar that was the big giveaway. https://extrachill.com/2020/12/bo-diddley-twang-machine-guitar-history.html
  9. As info, over 159 million Americans voted in 2020.
  10. When I saw the photo of Bo Diddley, I thought, "How can that possibly be a $2,000 clue?" Then it turned out to be a TS. 😲
  11. I was so happy that Dawn finally got to showcase her peanut sauce in the QF! Dawn is my favorite this season so I wish she would have won but it turned out that Shota really needed that immunity, I like him very much too and would hate to have seen him elimninated. They're my top 2 picks for the finale so I need them to stick around! Jamie sure knows how to make a comeback! Jose Andres is an international hero and role model; an angel walking the earth. I follow WCK on Twitter. The work they do is such an incredible expression of "Love thy Neighbor." I loved that the EC was built around having culinary essential workers feed front line health care workers. Heroes all! I felt bad for the chefs having to work the kitchen in PPE, and then remembered that's exactly what my son, a sous chef, has been living for the past 12+ months. 😢 Chris has to be the next chef sent packing, right? It feels as if he's been circling the drain for quite some time now.
  12. That is what Zoe meant and we have seen Kevin do exactly that on several occasions, with one notable exception: Zoe herself. The fact that she didn't want children was THE deal breaker for Kevin. He knew he wanted children and although it wasn't the way he planned it, he now has exactly what he wanted. The Great British Baking Show instead of Bridgerton? Sure, he can convince himself that he's fine with that. Not having children? That's his line in the sand.
  13. Zoey has some damned nerve with, "No matter what happens, you make it what you wanted all along." What Kevin wanted all along was to have children somewhere down the line. It's the reason he broke up with you. He has a son and a daughter now. This IS what he wanted all along. It seems that next week's episode may have Kevin questioning whether he wants to spend forever with the mother of those children (I think the answer will be yes) but there's absolutely NO question that he truly did get what he wanted here, probably more than he ever has before.
  14. In-depth feature in Variety on the development and production of Shadow and Bone. https://variety.com/2021/tv/features/shadow-and-bone-how-they-made-it-1234969633/amp/?__twitter_impression=true
  15. This shouldn't come as a complete shock to anyone; although, I do think that Agent Carter had a bit more of a case for being truly connected to the MCU when James D'Arcy made an appearance as Edwin Jarvis in Avengers: Endgame. Did Disney+ Erase Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Agent Carter from MCU Canon? I'm wondering if the fact that Agent Carter viewers know that Peggy destroyed the last vial of Steve's blood could be problematic for the

  17. Adrien Brody is another addition to the cast of Succession for Season 3. https://deadline.com/2021/05/succession-adrien-brody-season-3-hbo-series-1234750317/
  18. This For Hire video from Star Wars just dropped.
  19. The first four episodes of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Season 7, feature The Bad Batch. It's a great prequel to the new series. S07:Ep. 2 is all about Echo and will answer all your questions.
  20. Alexander Skarsgard to join the cast of Succession for Season 3. https://variety.com/2021/tv/news/succession-season-3-hbo-alexander-skarsgard-1234965151/
  21. McKellen's two years younger than last night's Best Actor winner. I think it could still happen. I agree with you on Sigourney Weaver. If she didn't win her Oscar the year she was nominated for two, I don't think it's happening.
  22. It hasn't been mentioned either in this thread or in the Awards Season thread, but Riz Ahmed won the Best Male Lead prize at the Independent Spirit Awards on Thursday, beating Chadwick Boseman. (The Father was not eligible so no Hopkins in the category.) Combine that with Hopkins' win at the BAFTAs and it shows a possibility that the tide was turning in the late run-up to the Oscars. One way or another, the producers made a huge error in judgment by holding Best Actor for the final award of the night.
  23. The Trial of the Chicago 7 was completely shut out. I'm disappointed.
  24. They're giving out Best Picture BEFORE Actor and Actress??? WTF???
  25. They really needed to show clips for the short films. Now, seeing clips of the full length animated films makes it even worse. I thought there might have been a technical reason.
