  1. I watch this show at various times and today is actually the first time I've seen one of the episodes filmed post-COVID19 with the contestants spread 6 feet apart, which has created an in-game issue IMO. Team members have always been able to confer with each other on pick-ups, the words left on the board by the other team. Now, they can't confer and have to answer individually. Granted, I've only watched one game with the new layout, but it definitely hampered both of the teams I saw. I don't think either team got even one pick-up!
  2. Well, they did show us the Citgo sign! I posted an interview that Jean Smart did for The New Yorker in the media thread. Yes, they did shoot the funeral scene shortly after Richard Gilliland's death. Wow. I can't imagine.

  4. Ah, thanks for the clarification. I do remember Dale Levitski.
  5. Wow, thanks for putting all that together, @seltzer3! So Dale Talde managed to still land in the top 3 despite not plating a protein?!?! He's got some nerve coming for Dawn with that on his own Top Chef resume. Get off my screen, Dale.
  6. Quoting @seltzer3 here because we seem to be thinking similarly. I have watched every single episode of Top Chef since it first premiered and although I can't right now recall specific instances, I definitely remember past seasons with items being missing from a plate or two and a judge sharing a bit of what was on their plate with another judge. It's never been an *absolute* reason to send a cheftestant packing, *unless* there wasn't another dish that was worse. And that leads into my second point. If you look back at the Dale Talde tweets linked in the post by @Ms Blue Jay, the first tweet has Angry Dale roasting Dawn's dish, BUT his second tweet is in response to a random tweeter who says that there was "no way Jamie should have been eliminated" and Dale responds, "Wrong, dish was bad, real bad." So, while Dale was not a fan of Dawn's dish, he still thought the correct chef went home for presenting the worst dish the judges were served.
  7. This People article announcing a premiere date for Seasaon 2 is actually from a few weeks ago. Modern Love Season 2: Amazon Reveals Premiere Date as Tobias Menzies and Sophie Okonedo Sign On
  8. I had to laugh at Shota wanting to win the Quickfire just so that Gabe wouldn't win one. I loved Padma's orange asymetrical blouse during the QF. Ed Lee is the best. I'm so glad we've gotten to have him around for several episodes now. It was also great to have Nina Compton at the dinner table. I hope she sticks around for the remaining episodes. OTOH, Dale Talde can leave any time now. At this point, I'm honestly beginning to wonder if production is messing with Dawn's plating for dramatic effect.
  9. Good idea @shapeshifter. I've noted it on my calendar too!
  10. I don't think you should feel even the slightest twinge of guilt. 😇 First, it's not as if we're Emmy Awards' voters here, where someone's future career track could hinge on an Emmy win or loss. Were I an Emmy voter, I'd try my very best to watch every nominated show, although I'm sure there are Emmy voters who don't care all that much and vote for friends, co-workers or for someone they think can be beneficial to their own careers. Also there are few, if any, collective consciousness shows now compared to decades past. Back in the pre-cable (or even early cable when many households didn't have it) days, there truly were shows that everyone watched: All in the Family, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, M*A*S*H and so on. Even today's mega-hit shows don't pull in the kind of viewership numbers that those shows did on a regular basis. Everybody's watching something different. As for the Primetimers themselves, I highly doubt that most people have seen even a quarter of the shows/performances/moments that are nominated in each category. Many categories have the maximum number of 25 nominations. There's NO WAY people have seen all of them or even a majority of them. Vote for your favorites. Everyone else will! (And that's coming from a WandaVision fan.😉) _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ I've already voted in the "Greatest Show of All Time" category and can no longer see this year's nominees. Is Jeopardy! nominated? Because if it isn't, we need to fix that next year!
  11. I'm the one who made that nomination. You're all welcome. I HAD to do it. While Jeopardy! doesn't usually fit into a lot of the Primetimer Awards' categories, that one jumped out at me. First round voting ends on Friday, so for anyone who hasn't yet voted, please follow the link @dcalley posted (quoted above) and vote!
  12. In case you haven't seen it, first round voting for The Primetimer awards is happening this week. You have until Friday to vote for the Greatest Show of All Time. Even if you're not interested in voting in the other categories, just head on over to this link and vote for The West Wing! The GOAT: Greatest Show Of All Time
  13. Guess I'll have to eat my hat on that one, but I think its present-day name should have been required. As for Savannah Guthrie, I've never cared for her and was fully expecting to be annoyed by her performance, but she completely surprised me. I thought she did a very good job.
  14. WAY too many triple stumpers tonight on clues I thought were relatively easy. As a lifelong baseball fan, it broke my heart that no one knew that the old "neighborhood" play involved second base. It's sad to me that baseball clues in general on Jeopardy! have gone unanswered lately. So much for "America's Pastime." 😔 Could someone please show me a map labeling that particular body of water as the "Gulf of Persia?" I think I'll be waiting for quite a while.
  15. Yes, it does seem that Bravo's website has an exclusivity window of an unspecified amount of time over its YouTube channel and also over Comcast's On Demand, which makes little sense as Bravo is a Comcast subsidiary. 😕
  16. This was the second show in a row where a jewel was incorrectly referred to as a gem. (The Diamond Head clue.) /Pet Peeve Baseball categories are my favorites. I ran it with ease, especially with photographs of Josh Gibson and Barry Bonds, both of whom I recognized before reading the clue.
  17. Forest Whitaker and Ben Mendelsohn to reprise their Rogue One roles as Saw Gerrera and Orson Krennic in Andor. https://thedirect.com/article/star-wars-rogue-one-ben-mendelsohn-cassian-andor-disney-plus-exclusive
  18. Also regarding the contents of the care packages: Every one of them contained a protein, which I'd have to assume was a requirement requested of the families by the producers. I mean, when was the last time you sent a care package to a distant loved one that contained a few pounds of brisket? 😄 I'm also assuming that the proteins weren't shipped directly but were specifically requested by the family and then filled from the TC pantry.
  19. I honestly don't get what's inspiring all the Jamie and Maria hate. I'm not against jumping on the villain train when it's been warranted in past seasons, but I haven't seen anything among this bunch but good people excelling under difficult circumstances all season long. (I'm aware of the Gabe situation, but even in his case, we haven't seen that on-screen.) Evidently, mileage varies. 😕
  20. In all the seasons of Top Chef, I can't recall ever seeing this emotional level of homesickness. I have to think that the limitations placed on all cast and crew of the show, compounded the normal into something above and beyond. This pandemic has changed us all so deeply, in ways we may not even yet comprehend. That elimination! My nose is still runny from crying. Great group. I loved the Quickfire. I'd like to see that Black Box Challenge become a staple.
  21. Truly. That was very surprising. FJ was an instaget for me. I got Malachite just from the photo as it's my favorite gem. I have several Malachite necklaces. Another gem is Jade. Emerald, on the other hand, is a jewel. I think that was a misleading clue.
  22. I completely agree with you, but there's a pretty obvious reason. Unlike the two shows renewed, The Unicorn doesn't have an Executive Producer named Chuck Lorre. 🙄
  23. Like you, I was similarly spoiled by a headline about Dan's "twist" ending and if the character had a future in Season 6, which did make me think that Dan might die. Of course, with this show, screentime doesn't necessarily end with a character's death. Here, it seems that there will be some type of battle for Dan's afterlife.
  24. To me, there was sort of an offhand reference to Jesus Christ in the "Family Dinner" episode, when Linda asks God, "Do you need a drink? Water? Wine? Is it all the same to you?" I remember thinking, wrong member of the Holy Trinity!
