  1. Guess I'll have to eat my hat on that one, but I think its present-day name should have been required. As for Savannah Guthrie, I've never cared for her and was fully expecting to be annoyed by her performance, but she completely surprised me. I thought she did a very good job.
  2. WAY too many triple stumpers tonight on clues I thought were relatively easy. As a lifelong baseball fan, it broke my heart that no one knew that the old "neighborhood" play involved second base. It's sad to me that baseball clues in general on Jeopardy! have gone unanswered lately. So much for "America's Pastime." πŸ˜” Could someone please show me a map labeling that particular body of water as the "Gulf of Persia?" I think I'll be waiting for quite a while.
  3. Re: First round voting; Best Animated Show. I nominated Star Wars: The Bad Batch, and it was part of the original list of nominees but isn't appearing as a voting option. Is that just an omission or was it decided after the fact that not enough of the currently running series occurred within the awards' eligibility period?
  4. Yes, it does seem that Bravo's website has an exclusivity window of an unspecified amount of time over its YouTube channel and also over Comcast's On Demand, which makes little sense as Bravo is a Comcast subsidiary. πŸ˜•
  5. This was the second show in a row where a jewel was incorrectly referred to as a gem. (The Diamond Head clue.) /Pet Peeve Baseball categories are my favorites. I ran it with ease, especially with photographs of Josh Gibson and Barry Bonds, both of whom I recognized before reading the clue.
  6. Forest Whitaker and Ben Mendelsohn to reprise their Rogue One roles as Saw Gerrera and Orson Krennic in Andor. https://thedirect.com/article/star-wars-rogue-one-ben-mendelsohn-cassian-andor-disney-plus-exclusive
  7. Also regarding the contents of the care packages: Every one of them contained a protein, which I'd have to assume was a requirement requested of the families by the producers. I mean, when was the last time you sent a care package to a distant loved one that contained a few pounds of brisket? πŸ˜„ I'm also assuming that the proteins weren't shipped directly but were specifically requested by the family and then filled from the TC pantry.
  8. I honestly don't get what's inspiring all the Jamie and Maria hate. I'm not against jumping on the villain train when it's been warranted in past seasons, but I haven't seen anything among this bunch but good people excelling under difficult circumstances all season long. (I'm aware of the Gabe situation, but even in his case, we haven't seen that on-screen.) Evidently, mileage varies. πŸ˜•
  9. In all the seasons of Top Chef, I can't recall ever seeing this emotional level of homesickness. I have to think that the limitations placed on all cast and crew of the show, compounded the normal into something above and beyond. This pandemic has changed us all so deeply, in ways we may not even yet comprehend. That elimination! My nose is still runny from crying. Great group. I loved the Quickfire. I'd like to see that Black Box Challenge become a staple.
  10. Truly. That was very surprising. FJ was an instaget for me. I got Malachite just from the photo as it's my favorite gem. I have several Malachite necklaces. Another gem is Jade. Emerald, on the other hand, is a jewel. I think that was a misleading clue.
  11. I completely agree with you, but there's a pretty obvious reason. Unlike the two shows renewed, The Unicorn doesn't have an Executive Producer named Chuck Lorre. πŸ™„
  12. Like you, I was similarly spoiled by a headline about Dan's "twist" ending and if the character had a future in Season 6, which did make me think that Dan might die. Of course, with this show, screentime doesn't necessarily end with a character's death. Here, it seems that there will be some type of battle for Dan's afterlife.
  13. To me, there was sort of an offhand reference to Jesus Christ in the "Family Dinner" episode, when Linda asks God, "Do you need a drink? Water? Wine? Is it all the same to you?" I remember thinking, wrong member of the Holy Trinity!
  14. So is all special events programming off the table? If something like this had occurred at the televised Emmy Awards instead of the televised Oscars, would it be eligible? Are one-shot reunion episodes eligible, like HBO's Friends' reunion that just dropped or The West Wing's from last fall?
  15. There is precedent from a prior year's Primetimer's Awards. Bringing this over from the past winners thread:
  16. The Oscars: The producers of the show (including Steven Soderbergh) decide to present the "Best Picture" award prior to the awards for "Best Actress" and "Best Actor," anticipating that the final award of the night would be won by the late Chadwick Boseman. The award is won by Anthony Hopkins, who is not present at the ceremony. Good night, everybody!
  17. @SilverStormm Thank you for the offer, but it's fine. I still like my other choices, @kickingnamesnominated the spear ☺️ and you Mods have enough work to do with these awards already!
  18. RE: Not Just A Prop: Favorite Performance By An Inanimate Object I've already used up all three of my available nominations for that category, but some fan(s) of The Mandalorian should nominate the Darksaber, the Beskar spear and/or Boba Fett's armor. Grogu's favorite toy, the metal ball is already worthily nominated. Now that I've thought about these, I wish I could take one of mine back!
  19. He should be famous to anyone who's ever been to Epcot and watched the show at The American Adventure pavilion. Chief Joseph is one of the audioanimatronic characters! Of course, many guests use the theater as an air conditioned nap space.
  20. This may be one of the strangest entries ever in this thread but here goes: Michael Voltaggio makes a cameo appearance as himself in the newly dropped season of Netflix's Lucifer S5Ep15, "Is This Really How It's Going to End?" The scene is played for comedy, Top Chef is name dropped and a new Voltaggio restaurant gets a plug.
  21. πŸ˜… Be more specific.
  22. Kevin' interview story about his father throwing bird seed all over him in Venice was horrifying! 🀀 If the answer of "Hoffman" in a category about actors doesn't merit a BMS, I have to think that it never again will on Jeopardy!
