  1. Not sure where this belongs, but... He's baaaaack...
  2. If you recall from the season 2 episode "Contagion," the Federation no longer had any idea of how to deal with computer viruses--apparently Symantec and it's ilk no longer exist in the future, and the phrase "reboot into safe mode" (or even reboot) has withered into obscurity--so it's no wonder they can't think of any reason for overrides. (The best reason for the episode, to my mind, was Riker's line "If it should become necessary to fight, could you arrange to find me some rocks to throw at them?")
  3. He also had a far better idea what success in the music world amounts to--the newbies had dreams of superstardom and Dalton was all, "It could mean touring on a bus instead of a van." Cracked me up, because, yeah, if you hit it solid, that's about the size of it.
  4. I've heard Rick Barker talk about how hard Trent worked at engaging fans several times, in interviews and Facebook chats, so Trent clearly made a special impression, and I'd guess it's not something that comes naturally to him. (Yes, Rick has also mentioned Dalton as someone who worked at the social media game.) Sidebar: Which reminds me--Keith Urban, in a radio interview, interrupted the interviewer to point out how hard Dalton worked at his music, at figuring out how he could get every last inch out of his abilities (it was a Texas station, so that's who he was asked about, but this point he clearly wanted to make even though he wasn't asked), and Rick Barker also pointed out Dalton as someone who would immediately go to a keyboard if there was one around and start working on something.
  5. Parts of the finale were very good, and parts were a hot mess--much like the series itself. I still am highly annoyed with the way they treated this season's contestants. Seriously, if they wanted it to be a farewell-to-the-show season, they could have made it a showcase for their former contestants--there are certainly enough of them--instead of bringing in a bunch of kids, rushing them through so they got far less exposure than any earlier season, ditching the only thing that earned any of them any money (the tour), and then burying them in the finale. Not classy, AI.
  6. Dalton was on Hollywood Today Live on Friday: And he seems to be scheduled to be on Live with Kelly and Michael this coming Wednesday.
  7. I know that Jason and his sibs have been signed to a record deal and were doing a corporate gig that night, so he wasn't available anyway. But according to a response he made on Twitter, "it would have been fun but Itnwas a crowded stage. Didn't get the invite!" He WAS in the audience the night before, with his 4-and-a-half year old daughter, right behind Dalton's parents. (His daughter was a big Dalton fan and cried when he was eliminated, and Mama Rapattoni spent the break consoling her.)
  8. Yep, it was on his Instagram, and it's not nearly long enough to be a record deal, so it's very likely for a car.
  9. Apparently someone went to Fueled by Ramen's Wikipedia page and added Dalton to their list of artists--wishful thinking, perhaps? Fueled by Ramen tweeted And Dalton responded So, no. (Also, he does not seem to be very upset at all. :) ) He may not be able to sign with a label immediately--I know that part of the deal of going on AI used to be that 19E had an option on the top however many it was--definitely the Top 4 and it might have been more, and they couldn't sign with another label until they were released--there was an expiration date on the option of a number of months, but I can't remember exactly how long. I don't know for sure if it's the same now (only with Borchetta's outfit), but I have to think it's likely.
  10. Jason Castro and his siblings signed a record deal with Word a couple of weeks ago. Last night they performed at the Hotel Cafe in L.A., and some nice person put up a bunch of bootleg from there: (There are a couple more videos at their YouTube channel, here.) ETA: I know Word mostly does Christian music, but none of the songs fit that genre, they're all secular.
  11. I'm on my phone so I can't bring the link, but in an article on MJ's, Scott said that if Dalton won he was going to market him to active rock. Now I'm relieved he didn't win!
  12. I believe I said that I didn't think rock was really Dalton's box, did I not? (From this interview on Billboard.) To which...YES!
  13. Quick Periscope from right after the show: https://www.periscope.tv/w/1lPKqWoQAoAJb
  14. Benedict also popped in unannounced--in full costume, and trailed by the crew--to a local comic book store nearby the NYC location. (I'm on my phone so I can't bring the link, but it's easy to find!)
  15. Look who made Yahoo Music's AI Top 40 Performances...(#33).
  16. Everyone's favorite game: "Get back in your box!"
  17. Judging by his songwriting, he may well be going in the singer/songwriter direction. I have heard rumors that he has wanted to do some acoustic stuff, but since Mac was their singer/songwriter, Dalton had to be their rocker, and he wasn't allowed those songs. (Remember that weird comment Harry made about how Dalton should stand his ground and do things his way?) *shrug* Hopefully he'll get a deal with a label that will let him do the album he wants to do, and then we'll see. I'm very interested to see which directions he takes in coming years, I'm sure it will never be boring! ETA: Mind you, a rumor is just a rumor--but I know for a fact that the producers have done this sort of manipulation before, so I wouldn't be at all surprised.
  18. Heh, M.Darcy--I think we can safely agree that RIII was innocent, seeing as Nero Wolfe investigated the case and came to the same conclusion! (So did Josephine Tey's Inspector Grant, in The Daughter of Time.)
  19. Me, I don't think his voice is either flat or weak: Is it as powerful as, say, La'Porsha's? No. But I don't think it's weak--just young-sounding. He'll age out of that soon enough.
  20. I think it was a very odd choice of song from the judges--two current songs for the others and...Tears for Fears? (ETA: It was a pretty weird choice for La'P, too. We are meant to understand that Adele's character in that song is a crazy, creepy, passive-aggressive stalker lady who can't let go and can't stop sniping at the guy, right? So why did La'Porsha have to sing two songs in a row that put her in the position of a woman who can't let go--especially given her story? Someone badly wants Trent to win.)
  21. The Hollywood Reporter (reprinted by Billboard) is still getting Dalton:
  22. (I think it's "I am five," for the five members of the group.)
  23. Psst, Borchetta--mostly when a singer with a fan base of any magnitude is ousted, their fans stop voting.
