  1. I don't think Ray Romano was cheap at all. I think he showed that he really paid close attention to what his assistant says, even when it's just chatting about her home life.
  2. Yes, and also it showed he paid attention to what she says, even in casual conversation.
  3. She’d look lovely in a 20s/flapper inspired silhouette.
  4. I think it was more that "Breaky" is (if your mind works that way) almost "Bakey".
  5. I quite like Randy's "Hello, beautiful" greeting. Also Gok's "Hello, gorgeous"!
  6. Oh, I don’t know—Peter seemed more nervous than anything to me, which made sense since it was his first solo client.
  7. I wonder whether Australian law allows short snippets without having to license or pay for them, because if so that would explain why such short snippets all the time.
  8. That picture proves that there IS such a thing as too much kitchen storage!
  9. No,no—so long as they are both boiled and baked and don’t contain odd foreign bits and pieces (like blueberries or other things that belong in pastries or muffins), us bagel purists are satisfied, even if grumpily.
  10. There are a lot of places where putting construction debris (which would definitely include old cabinets, no matter what the state of repair) curbside is strictly illegal; anyone doing reno has to pay to have a dumpster (and for a permit for the dumpster) along with all the other permitting requirements. It’s expensive and a PITA but more unavoidable than not.
  11. But only a small subset would like THOSE colors and THAT wallpaper (I found it far too dark, myself, even though I love color), and narrowing the buyer pool is not wise—as he found out.
  12. "Accent colors" is what I said, which means pillows, art, maybe carpets or curtains, maybe sheets and other bedcoverings. Easily made, no-muss-no-fuss changes.
  13. Which means that the buyers can use any accent colors THEY like, instead of being stuck with the colors Jonathan likes. When you decorate/stage for selling, that's the smart way to go--make any colors easily changeable.
  14. Actually, I preferred the corner house. The color choices in the house next door didn't appeal to me at all, and at that price point you don't want to be doing a full-on redecoration.
  15. I live in Manhattan and I can barely believe there are places where $200,000 get's you anything bigger than a closet!
  16. Agreed--I think it's nice, and I suspect he means it (that every woman is beautiful).
  17. We just renovated our kitchen and we went with all white cabinets--it's a small apartment galley kitchen on a low floor and thus with VERY little natural light for most of the day, so we didn't want anything darker. In fact, the kitchen cabinets we just replaced were also all white and none of them every got stained--the edges yellowed because they weren't good quality, but they never stained.
  18. Canada, I believe. (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4390084/)
  19. Kleinfeld’s prices have to cover Manhattan rents. (And from what they showed of the U.K. salon, Kleinfeld’sbprices have to cover a great many more salaries as well.)
  20. Well, the Atlanta Store is a whole building. Kleinfeld’s is just a storefront, and I have read that it is a lot smaller than it looks on TV. They have their stock on tightly-packed racks with much of it on the ceilings, and if customers start moving dresses around, they’d be lost forever in the sea of white!
  21. Yes, he has put out two collections now, IIRC. He also was a bridal designer before he started working at Kleinfeld's--that's why they hired him, they wanted someone with the designer's eye helping the consultants.
  22. That was a very unsatisfying result. Fiction would never be so poorly foreshadowed!
  23. And it really wasn't the best bedroom, not at all. Also I don't think Spence and Kerrie's bedroom deserved all that slamming it got--all it needed was some color on the wall behind the headboard. And seriously, why are those penthouse masters so tiny?
  24. I hope not. All that drama and she didn't even get terribly low scores--higher than that room deserved, I would have said. I don't like the tub: It looks horribly uncomfortable, and what good is an uncomfortable soaking tub? And unless there's a layer of something between the brass and the room, the metal is going to leach all the heat from the water and you'd be sitting in rapidly cooling water in an uncomfortable tub, ugh. But if you HAVE to use a brass tub, shouldn't the fixtures be brass, so that it's not totally unconnected to the rest of the room? Also, I would have used solid black tiles behind the tub and on none of the other walls, to frame the tub without bringing the walls down on you.
