I'm not so sure that the British bakers would do all that much better if you flew them to California, dumped them in a hotel, and gave them no chance to go home and decompress between episodes, much less their own kitchens to practice in--and that's not even considering jetlag, which is worse when traveling from west to east than the other way around.

I liked it very much! One caveat: Rugelach, which Lauren made as one of her cookies in the first challenge? That's a traditional Jewish pastry, and they are yummy, but they are not cookies.

Benedict won the BWW:UK (BroadWay World: UK) award of Best Leading Actor in a New Production of a Play for Hamlet. (It seems to be a voting-by-internet award? I'm not quite certain.)

It's a look, for sure...

Actually, going to Nashville doesn't necessarily mean going country. Apparently it's a lot more cost-effective to write and record there than in New York or LA, and the facilities are as good or better, so a lot of singers from other genres are gravitating there as well.

I think the explaining Moriarty thing was for Series 4, and reporters interpreted the special as season 4, which it is not.

I listen to it! At least one of the facts generally leads to some funny weirdness. (The weirdness is a given.)

I did not care for DS9 at all--there's no boldly going on a space station. Also, I really dislike arc-based storytelling. If I want long-form fiction I don't go to episodic television for it, I read a book. I go to TV for something that wraps up neatly in an hour, or two at most! (I'm old fashioned, sue me.)

Benedict Cumberbatch Curses Politicians Over Failure to Deal with Refugee Crisis. Some of the UK papers have spotlighted the profanity, but hey, $230,000 is impressive, and desperately needed.
