MSNBC: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (Vaulted)
NewDigs replied to Jaded's topic in Political Network Talk
Susan Collins was on. And Lindsey Graham. LOL But not poor John McCain. @Padma, I too was listening for Clinton's speech and could hardly believe it when it became obvious they were just waiting for her Trump remarks! I so rarely hear her speak. Though the day after the debate they did give her more coverage. She spoke of her mother's plight as an almost homeless 14 year old who not only worked as a housekeeper but got her work done early enough to get to high school where her teacher gave her the teacher's "extra" sandwich or she would have had nothing. It was very moving, imho. They are really doing this country a disservice, and that's being kind. I think I heard Mike Murphy say that maybe the media took Trump too seriously and he really never did want to be prez. The convolutions of these so-called journalists is mind numbing.- 3.0k replies

I'm glad they've pretty much settled on calling RC by his full first name. Hearing "Bob Costa" always gave me a little tic. Huh who? I'm tempted to sign up for Twitter. I think MJ was reading the 5:00-5:30AM tweets at about 8:30. Good times!

Good grief. I hope they didn't choose that poster as their background. Awkward is right.

Here's the transcript from that Town Hall. I don't have it in me to thoroughly read it but just skimming through fairly quickly I see Joe and Mika both had lots of "Right" and "Yes" and "OK" responses. Yeah, Mika. That's really hittin' him hard. I about choked on my coffee when she inserted that, "We asked the hard questions" into the conversation. I had forgotten that was the one with the hot mic! Good catch, @NextIteration! 'Throughout the tape, Trump asks Scarborough and Brzezinski to weigh in on his campaign tactics, his poll numbers and the effectiveness of his opponents. "They're spending $75 million on negative ads against me over the last two weeks. Are they catching on at all?" Trump asks at one point. "No, doesn't look that way," Scarborough says. "What do you think?" Trump asks Brzezinski. "No," Brzezinski says. Scarborough and Brzezinski immediately drew criticism from other journalists and media figures on Twitter after the tape was published online. Steve Deace, the conservative radio host, called it "clear coordination/coaching between a national show and a campaign." One portion of the tape that received criticism on Twitter was misleading. It features Brzezinski saying, "You don't want me to do the [questions] on deportation?" to which Trump replies: "That's right. Nothing too hard, Mika." ' ^^^ From CNN.

MSNBC: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (Vaulted)
NewDigs replied to Jaded's topic in Political Network Talk
That was a thing of beauty. It's not often you get to see Chuck Todd, or anyone, laugh out loud at a surrogate. He looked like he wanted to give the guy a little tap to see if he was delirious. -

They have to quit with the surrogates. I don't know which nitwit CT just tried to pin down (Jason something?) but, the kool-aid, it is strong. Trump won the debate, Lester didn't do such a good job (Hillary got easier questions), the polls that night were a landslide for Trump, the polls now prove he won and the sky is green and the clouds are striped. Chuck was open-mouthed wide-eyed stunned but called him out on everything, but the sky remained green.- 3.0k replies

What the heck are the duties of MTV Director of Politics ? I had no idea MTV had political programming. I'm old. (and amazed Real World still lives.) lol MJ was background for me but I at first thought the studio was cold and she had to borrow a jacket. Something looked off, to me. Like a wrong size or adjustment or something. I missed the ripped jeans. Seems a bit underdressed, imho, but considering how Joe and Mika are sometime attired...

The Lonely Js Club: James, Jackson & Johannah
NewDigs replied to SpaghettiTuesdays's topic in Counting On
I had assumed that JD and the plane were earners. Now I wonder who would go up with him? Remember that bad weather near-incident? Yikes. -
Sometimes Europe/Scandinavia seems so much more, dare I say, civilized. Actual holidays. Real vacations (August). Real parental leave. Real time off for health concerns. Wonder if employers there guilt employees about stuff like that. I know they do here. Sometimes I think it would be worth hauling my major appliances from place to place for those luxuries. But could be a grass is always greener thing. Then I look at how hard people here need to work just to, hopefully, make ends meet and I'm sad. And wonder, What the heck happened? Verklempt.

Bethenny Frankel: Skinny Girl
NewDigs replied to Lisin's topic in The Real Housewives Of New York City
Maybe he did. I don't know and I don't think it's Bethy's place to tell me, and others, that he is, in her opinion, a leech. That's one of them thar loaded words that, imho, would be best left out of their very public arena. (I hope it wasn't "leech" posts that went poof. Sorry if so. Wasn't here for dustup.) -

Bethy could have taken a higher road in her complaints against Jason's spousal support. The word "leech" wasn't necessary. imho Those are the digs that make me cringe. Name-calling is so JuniorHigh. -
I was ready to hit the like button 'til you mentioned the eggplant. lol When @Jynnan tonnix mentioned the eggplant maybe not making it I thought, Whew. But what an effing haul! Wow! Lotsa' work. Well done.

Ohhh. So sorry. Hope your new place has helped to ease your tremendous discomfort.

How'd it go @emma675? I always suffer such angst when I find myself in those positions. A couple of times I had no idea how much I loved a job until that final day. You have some exciting times ahead and I know you'll make the most of them. Congrats! Now, let's not go crazy. Maybe ease @frenchtoast into recovery with those green bean thingies before we hit the tater tots. Chickenetti anyone? With Pinot, maybe? Hope things have evened out for @Sew Sumi and @Happyfatchick and @CherryMalotte. I remember when I was young, and obviously stupid, I thought that things would get easier as I got older. Well, that was then. lol Is @Arwen Evenstar gaining ground? Maybe just eyeing those dancing shoes? Pretty easy to find alcohol in Florida though many moons ago we had to drive over the Skyway bridge for beer if we found our fridges empty and outselves beer-thirsty before noon on a Sunday. Pinellas County has since rectified that situation. In the early 90s there was a gas station there that actually had a beer tap inside the convenience store. Just in case you really needed a draft beer for the rest of your drive. Crazy!! Now. All of you! Be well! dammit. ETA @Micks Picks You are missed! Wish I had a magic twinkle-stick that would fix everything! Sorry for all others I've missed. Peace to all.

Good grief. She was trying to "win" Trump's debate point for him? That was his argument last night when Hillary, again, admitted she made a mistake but Trump didn't want to let it go at that. I guess "mistake" wasn't a strong enough word for either Mika or the don.
-
That was so annoying! I think it's now being spun as, purposeful, static in his microphone. Riiight.

Re: breast pockets on women's shirts As a relatively small-breasted sports bra wearing woman I find that breast pockets add an extra privacy (?) layer. I almost always have a tissue or two in a pants pocket and usually some small change. Maybe even a chapstick and a lens-cleaning cloth. I use my side and front pant pockets. Not the rears.

Just when I think I've figured out who "Cackles" refers to it turns out I haven't. lol Who's Cackles? ETA Ha! It's Nicole? I didn't see her there earlier.

I wish some MSNBC sound people had coached Trump to not gasp through his nose. I remember this tic from a town hall they broadcast. Annoying. -
