  1. Who other than Uriel has the show established him to have murdered? Seems to me they put a pretty big emphasis on that having been the first time he murdered someone. He tortured people after they died. He didn't kill them. Also, just being pedantic here but I'm pretty sure "mass murderer" implies killed a bunch of people in one location at the same time. Multiple people in multiple places in a short span of time is a spree killer. Different individual murders on different occasions in different locations would be a serial killer. Since he was acting in self-defense, or to protect Maze, he didn't murder anyone. He killed Uriel, but he didn't murder him.
  2. The steps - that really made me laugh (well, the whole show does that) - anyway, my theory is that Real Eleanor knew right away the button was there because the house was really meant for her - so - it is sort of her dream house. She knew the style of architecture as soon as she saw the house, so she knew the details, including the hidden stairs. I don't understand the sleeping arrangements. I think Chidi said he was staying with blonde Eleanor to help teach her, so does that mean there is a guest room? And now that brunette Eleanor is there, does she get to sleep in the bed that was intended for her? (Note that all the clown pictures are back.) If not, where is she sleeping? If yes, where is blonde Eleanor sleeping? Also, the subject of laundry came up. Since no one needs to cook in The Good Place except those chefs that enjoy doing so, do people really have to do laundry if it's not one of their favorite things? (I assume there's infinite clothing available in the stores.) Couldn't Eleanor just get new stuff? Is there concern about waste there?
  3. I would be down with that. If he really used the classic Atom shrinking powers, he would be near invincible against human opponents. If you can travel inside your enemies' ear canals/arteries/brains, what chance do they have? The main impediments are getting close enough, and then having an escape plan.
  4. It's not just you. However, the presidential election only happens every four years so it looms large in people's minds. . Many sitcoms had Halloween episodes last week, and that's an event that occurs every year.
  5. The building was cool; maybe based on a writer's idea of Google headquarters? But the story was not great. The soap sharing bit was some interesting physical comedy. There's only one toilet, and there's still enough water to flush? I'm not so sure about locking a pregnant woman in the stocks. And did Carol climb to the ceiling to clip the wires on the sculpture that fell? What if it had crushed someone else? I'm also not clear as to how long generators could run that huge building and what they used for fuel.
  6. Yes, if I try to do anything else while watching, I always miss something clever.
  7. I just came to say the same as the second quote. I see what they were going for, but it didn't actually make any sense because it's not like little Kate was wearing an adult XL. Are you sure that Kate doesn't get, based on the labels, that she is at the largest end of girl's clothing and her mom is near the smallest end of misses's sizes? (I believe that a girl's XL is 16). And if it's true that a girl's XL is not much smaller than a miss's S, and Kate realizes that, how much the sadder she must be.
  8. How likely is it that all of the employees would have the same polling place? People who live a quarter mile from me vote in entirely different locations. The store might not even have been the place Matteo would be voting at, much less every single person we saw working there on Election Day.
  9. Worse is that it would make Amy a cheater.
  10. Kudos to the people whose garages are empty enough to qualify as polling places!
  11. I didn't know that the polling places had to be within walking distance. There were always organizations offering to drive voters to the poll. I've only voted in 2 northeastern states that I'm fairly sure do not use garages. If nothing else, the weather might be too nasty in November. Are you in a warm state?
  12. I could not disagree with this point of view more. I personally am still trying to come to terms with an abortion I had 21 years ago and, to me, to casually let a teenager think it's hilarious and a day in the park is beyond irresponsible. We don't all find it so easy to deal with and that should be a consideration for any young woman finding herself having to make that decision. I think Duke was there too.
  13. I didn't get my first minivan until my daughter was grown and on her own! Third child. Two car seats and a booster didn't fit well in the back seat and also no room for a play date passenger.
  14. On Life in Pieces it was a neighbor's garage which seemed even stranger. I'm used to schools and houses of worship.
  15. I guess when they were living together in Matt's parents' garage, it was no big deal to defecate in his parents' bathroom?
  16. Are private garages really used as polling places? I guess Dougie moved out, even though she won the wrestling match. I hope Matt doesn't sit right outside the bathroom door while Colleen is inside. Go wait in the living room and leave some mystery in the relationship. I did think she was experiencing appendicitis, though. No way the ER nurse would have sent her home without at least a cursory exam. Too risky.
  17. Can Gideon track everyone on the ship? If so, wouldn't she be able to tell where Mick was/if he was conscious? I feel like that wouldn't be so difficult.
  18. He was zombified, so probably killed with the other zombies in the explosion. Can Ray cure any condition and modify any serum in a matter of hours? Why does Earth still have diseases?
  19. Can Adrian Shaw do something temporarily to Red's blood so that his DNA will either match or not match Lizzie's? (Not quite sure which way at this point.) I feel like I've seen that done somewhere before. Not sure why Lizzie didn't just ask Kirk for a swab when he was in custody and have her own DNA test done under circumstances where she wouldn't suspect Red of fixing the results. I know there were times constraints, but I don't think they would have done Lizzie's dialysis before knowing she was a match. Also, did anyone believe that there was a coincidental, huge bus accident? It seems like there should have been a top secret medical site where Kirk could have been held that would not accept trauma victims. Finally, Kirk's known for years that he was ill. If he was willing to consider using Agnes as a donor, why hadn't he tried to create a donor through in vitro fertilization? Parents have done it to create donors for their sick older children. Perhaps he tried and it didn't work. She said she was his lawyer. That may even be true.
  20. I didn't get this, either. I just chalked it up to William's impending demise and how it's getting harder and harder for Randall to accept that. The teacher/student dynamic can be difficult. A good teacher may have to push a student, give accurate assessments of his ability or lack thereof. What if Randall has no talent? That would be uncomfortable for both of them. They don't have the (hopefully) typical parent/child history where the parent can be honest in his criticism without the child fearing that he is a disappointment or the parent worrying that the child will resent his telling the truth.
  21. Is it her heritage? I thought she was African, not descended from Africans brought to America to be slaves. That, of course, does not mean that she isn't subject to all the injustices facing African-Americans. I guess she really meant that experiencing American slavery exposed her to the grossest mistreatment of people of color to a much greater degree. Perhaps he's always been the smart kid derided for his lack of physical ability. He used his intelligence to remedy the latter problem. Now that edge is gone and he's back to being an insecure kid. Mick and Sara were never pigeon-holed as brains over brawn.
  22. Did anyone notice when Rebecca was reading Randall's report card, that he had separate grades for "arithmetic" and "math" along with reading, spelling, history and science? Kind of silly. Whoever designed the report card could have used "art" or "gym" instead if they needed another class.
  23. Wheat allergy is a thing. Wheat allergy with anaphylaxis, though rare, is also a thing. Gluten allergy, with or without anaphylaxis, is not a thing. There is no such thing as an allergy to gluten. Celiac disease is an autoimmune disease caused by an abnormal reaction to gluten in the small intestine. Although eating gluten when one has celiac disease can have many severe side effects, it does not result in an inability to breathe. Using an EpiPen would have no positive effect, and since it would not be counteracting an allergic reaction, could be dangerous. I'm not trying to diminish the severity of gluten intolerance/celiac disease as I am very familiar with it, but it is not as portrayed. I don't know why the writers didn't just utilise a food that does cause severe allergic reactions in some, but I guess nut allergies aren't funny?
