Dorothy told the Wizard that she would do anything to get home. While I don't think she would agree to hurt Lucas or Sylvie, if she destroys Glinda, the Wizard says he will send her home. I think it's as simple as that. I'm not sure how the Wizard immediately recognized that Dorothy was Dorothy. She was a child when she left Oz and it's not like she's the exact image of her mother, or he saw her hand tattoo.

There was a comment about meeting at a previous wedding. It's probably created for the show, but, remember that Victoria's mother is Albert's aunt, and also came over from Coburg to marry Victoria's father 22 years ago.

I'm with you about that conversation and will have to take MV17's suggestion and watch with closed captioning. I heard something about her coming from a nunnery. I'll have to rewatch with CC on. "Nunnery" = whorehouse, where she worked, possibly in the laundry, possibly not. The real Eliza Skerrett became pregnant (she met a person who was a --- it was an unusual profession/hobby that I can't recall) so couldn't take the job in Victoria's household that she had apparently earned, and trained the fake "Eliza" to do hair well enough that she passed as Eliza. I actually believe her about working in the laundry, because she seems to have good sewing skills. ETA: in exchange for being able to take the real Eliza's place, "Eliza" is giving her money/lace collars when she can to help support her and her child.

So I guess that Marcus's finger re-attachment fully took?

How would Sandra know that Jeff is gay? Only Cheyenne knows about Jeff and Mateo, and based on her characterization, it's pretty unbelievable that she hasn't cracked yet.

I'm assuming that everyone else in Natalie's family died from the infection and she was discovered and taken to a medical facility and placed in isolation. After a while, when she didn't show signs of the disease, the staff either decided that she was fine, or someone got careless and came into contact with her, developing the disease. Other people ran to the aid of this first person, became contaminated, and spread it to everyone else working there. Although, in reality, uncontaminated people should have really started backing away from those who were clearly dying. Also, Natalie didn't seem to know that any of this had happened, so maybe the first person touched her while she was asleep, and everyone else died quietly. On the other hand, somehow people in Hazmat suits knew to come into the facility to retrieve her. It doesn't really make sense, unless the contagion was released into the ventilation system and people could become sick by breathing it in.

They do completely different jobs and have very different skills. Navabi's job is more dangerous, but Aram's is more specialized and he is probably much harder to replace. What Navabi should be interested in is what Ressler is making, since they have the same job, although he clearly has seniority. Aren't they government employees with civil service pay scales anyway?

Magnusson probably owes Red's not killing him to the latter's regret over "killing" Mr. Kaplan.

Besides the short-lived Henry whom Catherine gave birth to, and her 2 still-born sons with him, Henry had an illegitimate son whom he recognized and allowed to use "FitzRoy" as surname, indicating his parentage: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_FitzRoy,_1st_Duke_of_Richmond_and_Somerset

S01.E12: Mindy St. Clair / S01.E13: Michael's Gambit
ItCouldBeWorse replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in The Good Place [V]
When we saw a flashback of Eleanor in her high school cafeteria, making it clear that she did not want to make friends with anyone, she was wearing braces (likely to make Kristin Bell look younger and more believable as a high school student). Later, we saw a flashback to when she was 14 (and played by a younger actress) and had her parents sign her emancipation papers. Somehow, this emancipated minor who was working to support herself while attending high school managed to get herself braces! -

Thanks for that. It sounds mushy and schmaltzy when I read it here, but the way Kristen Bell delivered the line, it sounded very sincere. And not at all schmaltzy. It's a reference to Plato's Allegory of the Cave, showing how much Eleanor learned from Chidi. -
I was thinking Rogue from X-Men.

Well, THAT makes a lot more sense! Thanks. I figured it was some sort of civic organization, so I searched "Jack and Jill" & "African-American" and it popped right up.

Nope, quite the opposite: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_and_Jill_of_America

Thanks! However, under Salic Law, a female could not inherit the throne of Hanover, so uncle Ernest became the King of Hanover. From Wikipedia: The British and the Hanoverian thrones separated after the death of King William IV of the United Kingdom and of Hanover, in 1837. Hanover practised Semi-Salic law, but not Britain. King William's niece, Victoria, ascended to the throne of Great Britain and Ireland, but the throne of Hanover went to William's brother Ernest, Duke of Cumberland. If Victoria's father had died without issue, or if she had taken after her cousin Charlotte and died without issue, then Hanover and Great Britain and Ireland would have remained united under Ernest.

Mike not being a lawyer makes so much sense, although he likely won't be able to hold himself back in court forever, so the show keeps working on getting him a license. How was Marissa planning to argue her case to begin with if she is only a law student? (who, by the way, I believe can argue certain cases while working in law school-approved clinics.)
-
Or depending upon whom they married, they might have had sons whose supporters, even in infancy, would be jockeying to get them on the throne.

S01.E03: Mistress-New-Mistress
ItCouldBeWorse replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Emerald City [V]
Also, her adoptive father speaks Spanish, as does she, but is she actually Latina by birth? Only asking because of the earlier discussion about minority members of the cast. -
Thankfully not from the House of Orange. Clever.

Catherine was a staunch Catholic, and Mary was heir to the Protestant throne. He had to mitigate Catherine's influence, although a lot of good that did once "Bloody Mary" was Queen.

Every poisoned, dying mom should keep their young child close enough to witness their heart stopping, seizures, etc. Though I guess if Trixie wasn't in the hospital, we'd be complaining that she must be home alone since Dan and Maze were busy.

So the reason she and Alex are no longer searching for Jeremiah is so they don't have to pay back the insurance money?
-
So she'll stop upgrading to gas lighting and resume using candles, which can be resold for easy cash.

It's an anti-bullying thing. If a student invites every child in his/her class except one and then all the kids talk about how fun the party is going to be/was, it's a way to bully and isolate the uninvited child. The uninvited child's parents can use that as evidence that the school is supporting a bullying environment and sue the school. Schools are required to get involved with events that take place outside of school if they effect things that happen in school. (It's the same reason my school can suspend students who get into fights off school grounds on the weekends or get caught drinking/using drugs outside of school.) As mentioned earlier, Randall is in a private school. These are rules that the parents have agreed to abide by (even if Rebecca and Jack seemed oblivious) when they enrolled him. I'm sure there was a book of school policies, including dress codes, etc. If parents don't like the rules, they are free to 1) work to change them; 2) take their children out of the school. Isn't that kind of the point? Kate isn't cool enough to be aware that her classmates wouldn't be thrilled with a tulle and gloves Madonna party, perhaps preferring something edgier, or at least, a chance to mingle with the boys. Kevin's friends would likely have been totally fine having a "boys only" party. In retrospect, when Kate had her "girls only" party, Kevin should have had a playdate elsewhere, or hung out at Randall's party, and then had his party after Kate's was over.
