  1. In tonight's episode, we found out that Katie's mother is named Katherine, and Katie is obviously some version of that, and likely so is Anna-Kat. If Greg and Katie hadn't had 2 daughters, I guess there wouldn't have been a third generation "Katherine", though, since the older daughter is Taylor. Maybe Katie initially resisted passing on her mother's name.
  2. You are right. Even if the property owner considered Lucifer to be a squatter, after being in residence for so long, Lucifer couldn't be removed without court action https://www.landlordology.com/how-to-get-rid-of-squatters/: Pay attention to this case, particularly if you live in the California: Two brothers, using Airbnb, rented a Palm Springs vacation condo for six weeks. Once they were in, they texted the owner that they would not be leaving after the six weeks because they legally had the right to stay. And sure enough, California does a have a law stating that people who live on a property longer than 30 days are tenants. Unfortunately, as liberal as California is, it’s not the only state with this law. The owner in this case could not kick out her squatters after the six-week period. She hired a lawyer to evict them, a time-consuming and costly endeavor that landlords typically want to avoid like the plague. To add insult to injury, many rogue tenants decide to trash the place before departing as one last sign of disrespect. But each can testify as to their own, sole guilt at the other one's trial, raising a reasonable doubt in the jury's mind as to which one committed the crime. Or, the juries could decide that they had colluded on the crime and the defense, and convict them at their separate trials. Or, one jury could find reasonable doubt, and the other could convict.
  3. They should certainly provide her with whatever guidance she needs, but it's unrealistic to think that removing all temptation at work is possible. Do her costars have to "do a Toby" and offer to not eat anything tempting in front of her? Your family is super-accommodating because they love you, but I think that you have a very unusual situation.
  4. So if J'onn eventually gets turned back to full Green Martian, can M'gann get transformed into a Green Martian? Otherwise, I don't see the two of them ever pairing off. Maybe Jeremiah has been deep undercover at Cadmus for 15 years. If so, I can't imagine what he's waiting for. If I were Supergirl, I'd tell Lena right away about her mother. Did the cages at Cadmus also prevent Supergirl from using her heat vision/cold breath/a really big gust of air against the bad guys? It seemed as though she could reach through the bars with her hands. But perhaps if she knocked everyone out, she and Mon El would just be trapped inside the cages until they died.
  5. So how long are they going to drag out the Mon El = Prince reveal?
  6. And if she isn't able to lose significant weight, then that becomes part of the story. The storyline can evolve. Wouldn't it be interesting if her contract required her not to lose a huge amount of weight and they are playing with our expectations? (Though I suppose they could always pad her if she lost too much. . . .)
  7. I don't think that Manny has the demonstrated talent for Juilliard. Perhaps he will have failed to apply to back-up schools and will be forced to take a gap year.
  8. Or you could argue that Haley's relationship with an older guy, and with Andy, both had something to do with recreating her relationship with her father. As to Alex, none of it makes sense. I don't believe that last year (when she didn't have mono) she loved being home so much that she would find any excuse to leave her college dorm. If she actually formed a healthy relationship with a boy at school, she wouldn't want to leave, and she would barely be in the show. Therefore, I believe her unhealthy romantic life is in service to the needs of the plotlines. They kept Haley in the story by having her drop out of college. Luke and Manny are both HS seniors; I suppose it is unlikely that Luke will go far away any time soon, but will Manny really stay at home, too? Although he is such a mama's boy that Alex's storyline would have made much more sense for him, that is, that he would prefer the comforts of home to life in a dorm.
  9. Lucifer claimed exactly that at the scene. They'd both have to file false statements on the record, but the show set it up with that lie as soon as the cops walked in. Given the way the show-logic works, I see no reason to expect we're supposed to assume this will come back to bite them. That was their handwaving, and until shown otherwise, I take it the show wants us to run with it. I get what you are saying, but since the wounds on the body will match the wounds on those stabbed in the yoga studio, that indicates the the stabber brought a weapon to the home of the stabbee, which contradicts her self-defense story. If the weapon were still in the body, I doubt that her story would fly. And unless Lucifer is going to claim that he witnessed the attempted rape, and the subsequent stabbing, his statement is meaningless, since he wasn't there. It just bothers me that the police would hand-wave this killing, although I get that the show doesn't want an innocent to go to jail due to being forced to kill by Azrael's blade. If the show weren't going for a relatively "light" theme (despite the death of 7 innocent victims), Mom's interference would be more meaningful if the last stabber had to serve a lengthy, undeserved prison sentence. As Mom claimed, all humans eventually die, but they don't all languish unfairly in prison.
  10. I think only 5 yoga people died. The sixth mat belonged to the instructor/partner who killed her rapist, Mr. Glory.
  11. But in order not to be charged with his murder, she will have to say that he was trying to attack her now. The fact that he raped her many years ago does not give her the right to stab him now. And, she was at his home, which looks like premeditation. Her only realistic chance to not be arrested would be to say nothing, since the weapon had miraculously disappeared. Otherwise, I think she's in big trouble.
  12. Maybe you're just watching the wrong shows? There are shows with black woman/white man couples. For example Barry/Iris (The Flash). To me it seems like black man/white woman is less common on tv even though it is more common in real life. On current shows Andre/Rhonda (Empire) are the only couple I can think of that lasted more than an episode or two. The President/Olivia Pope in Scandal; Dax Shepard/Joy Bryant's characters in Parenthood. Here's an article on the topic: https://tressiemc.com/digitalsociologies/when-white-men-love-black-women-on-tv/
  13. I think Greg and Jen said they wanted to keep it private? And then Jen winced when deciding that Greg's family should be invited? I think they are a little much for her sometimes. I think the combo of Greg and Jen are hysterical. It's all in Jen's understated, snarky delivery.
  14. Based on my experiences at that age, either: Stringent rituals in advance to ensure not running out Extreme anxiety and meltdown In other words, a problem!
  15. I wish that writers would stop used the word "hung" instead of "hanged" when referring to people. Unless the actors are misspeaking and the directors don't realize/want to reshoot. I've heard it on two different shows this week.
  16. Wasn't she in the failed baby shower episode? It was noticeable that she wasn't at Lark's birthday party. There should have been a mention as to why she wasn't there - after all, it was a last minute invitation.
  17. He's been playing old his whole career. When he was playing Furious in Boyz n the Hood he was 30. Cuba Gooding Jr. was 23. Pops, Ruby and AV would all have to be playing older for the timelines to make sense. Otherwise AA and TER would have to be playing younger and I don't see how Bow could be much younger based on medical school, Zoey's age and the current pregnancy plot. Anthony Anderson is 46, so it's a combination of Laurence Fishburne's gray hair/facial hair and great acting that makes him appear a generation older. Jenifer Lewis is 59. By the way, did anyone notice that Dre had not had his weekly haircut for a while? No barbershop gossip!
  18. The conversation at the end was Stein telling Jefferson that he was having visions of a woman he couldn't name but that he thought he loved, and Jefferson saying that Clarissa was going to be furious, or words to that effect. As I said in the speculation thread:
  19. I thought Jerry said he was out of rum and xanax. Ramen is funny, too! Hee I heard Ramen. Been there done that *sigh* But rum is funny too. hehehe I heard "ramen" which has a reputation as lonely-guy food, and is more likely to be found in a drugstore than rum, at least where I live!
  20. I predict that when Stein told his younger self to cherish Clarissa more, they wound up creating a child, and Stein is now a father!
  21. Obviously, I'm off topic with this, but what did they give kids with marks in the 70s if something in the 80s is a C? What was considered a fail? There are not enough letters between A and F for this system! This is why everyone should just use numbers. My recollection: 64 was failing. 65-66: D; 67-69: D+; 70-73: C-; 74-76: C; 77-79: C+; 80-83: B-; 84-86: B; 87-89: B+; 90-93: A-; 94-97: A; 98-100: A+ So, an 81 would be a B-.
  22. Yes, Ethan and Evan must be receiving A+++++++ on everything. (Should be Emery and Evan.) Completely not like this in the US. I'm not saying that a mediocre grade in math will mean no admission to a competitive university, but all academic subjects are part of your GPA (grade point average) and it would be very dangerous to purposely ignore a subject. A grade of "C" would be very noticeable. Perhaps they made enough on the raffle to cover the cost of the food, staff and decorations (and live turkey). I thought there would be push-back from the staff about working on Thanksgiving, even at time-and-a-half, but I guess they're too afraid of Jessica to argue.
  23. Does David Chappelle often wear clothing with his own name on it? (Monologue, Kids Talk Politics, closing.) Also, it appears that he is still a smoker - Inside SNL, the bumper, the closing.
  24. She's been an actress since childhood who's worked steadily and had some success. Enough to buy her home (and I'm guessing her mother's place is a guest house on the property?) as well as pay support to her ex. Since they live in California, I assume he's entitled to half her earnings while they were together and she's probably paying them out over time. Should have had a pre-nup.
