https://shaiharper.tumblr.com/post/180247152022 He really did wear Michael's outfit. LOL. Same textured bow tie, same stitching on the lapel This just makes me love him more.

Cool observation. Now only if we had show runners who were actually interested in telling this story. Maybe Mary didnt' answer Dean's texts so he went to make sure she was still alive. More than likely it was to check on her. Dean regualrly cares far more about people then they do about him. Jack is another prime example. I guess Dean matters when Jack wants something from him.

For me, if Sam was just saying he didn't think Jack was ready or Dean wasn't clearing it with Sam for permission, Sam's responses don't work. I would think they would be more like, "Are you sure he's ready?, or okay thanks for checking in." To make it clear that's what it was. That's not what he said. He said, "Just the two of you? Jared's tone indicated disbelief, not concern. Followed up by "We have other hunters in the area, I can send them." This strongly indicates that he thinks Dean shouldn't go. Even if he doesn't trust Jack completely, he should trust Dean's instincts, to know that he wouldn't take Jack if he wasn't ready. Sam is the screw up there. Even if the show wants to pretend he's perfect, it doesn't change the fact that Sam was wrong. Does Sam not trust Dean here to look out for jack. The fact that Sam told Dean to put other hunters on it strongly suggested that Sam felt Dean shouldn't go, and why not? Does he really expect Dean just to sit around all day and and wait for orders from "chief"or only go on hunts Sam's approves. I'm glad Dean went anyway but it still felt like Dean was asking for permission. Not to mention, Sam got pissy when Bobby didn't check in with command before going off. Power seems to be going to Sam's head. I don't buy Dean being "off." He really hasn't. He's holding it together better than Sam.

Is it just me or does he look extra gorgeous framed in neon light?

Supernatural Bitterness & Unpopular Opinions: You All Suck
ILoveReading replied to mstaken's topic in Supernatural
Or the worst offender of them all. Taxi Driver. Its the same with Sam and Dean too. When Maggie came back, no one looked in Sam's direction. So outside of homework, and briefings Sam doesn't seem to know or care about any of them. We don't see Dean interacting with them. It's almost like Sam was so desperate to be leader he tracked them all down and guilt tripped them like he did Charlie. -
There was a pic of all the writers but not Dabb.

Sorry, I never meant to impy you said that. Just that way that Sam came across in that scene. Worrying is one thing, acting like he shouldn't be there is other. WO His shocked "just hte two of you, and I can send other hunters suggest that he does't think Dean can hack it. You can' worry about your husband but I bet you dont' offer to send other hunter in his place. Yes, Dean has done reckless things in the past. But that's the past. Sam should be judging Dean on how he's acting now. Dean's actually holding it together better than Sam, because Sam is going to end up collasping at some point because the writers love poor poor pitful me, wounded baby bird Sam. I don't think Sam was made to learn any lessons in any of those seasons, so we'll agree to disagree, but with the pedestal that Dabb and co. have put Sam on, they think he' so far beyond perfection that when he actually screws up, its the fault of the other person for pointing it out. If Sam does make a massive mistake of screw up it will just be swept under the rug and the blame laid at someone elses feet. most likely Dean. Yes, I'm bitter that the show took the one thing Dean had left and have to make a big production over it when its finally about Sam.

Sam had zero issues about an untrained rookie going out and hunting on her own. This was not treated as a mistake Sam made. It was Bobby who was the dick for pointing it out. Yes, Jack is in experienced but Dean is a damn good hunter. He's better than Sam (unless the show is trying to pretend he's not). So Sam should at this point be able to trust Dean to look out of Jack and show him the ropes. Dean is a senior hunting who we've been shown is very capable of dealing with newbies. Sam knows this. It goes back to Why doeesn't Sam trust Dean? If all the hunters are so inexperinced that "Chief" has to hand hold and spoon feed them everything then someone needs to do the field training. Chief certainly has no interest. It's like leading is just orders, commands and accolades to him. What is he going to do? Just stop sleeping altogether? He has to trust those under his command to be competent without him looking over their his shoulder. Sam is micro managing every little thing. It's kind of insulting that he's doing this with Dean. Dean isn't one of his flunkies.

I give equal credit to Jensen. Any character paired with Dean instantly becomes more interesting.

If Sam had been paying attention, Dean's state of mind isn't really that bad. He was a little off kilter in ep 3. But 4, 5, and 6 he was fine. Staying his room seemed more about the extra hunters than Michael. He's not drinking excessively, or out of control. He's coming out of his room more, lately Last ep Dean did most of the heavy lifting, despite what Dean said. Unless, Sam believes his own press, (that he's doing everything on hunts) and can't see what is right in front of him, Dean's been kind of zen. As Jody, said maybe hunting is what he needs. He's even following Sam's rules. Something Sam isn't doing himself. It is coming across very much as if he does't trust Dean.

These Spoilers Suck: Bitter Speculation About SPN Spoilers
ILoveReading replied to catrox14's topic in Supernatural
Misha said at a con that that the empty comes into play, and that he is not playing the empty keeper. My guess is that Jack needs his grace to survive so Dean is going attempt to get it back and somehow go into the empty. There was a vague reference to seeing Billie again. I'm guessing Dean asks for her help. I'm also guessing Dean is going to be responsible for Lucifer getting free too. I'm also expecting Sam's "Do you think this is a good idea" and Dean saying yes to be validated as not a good idea. -

There is the spoiler in the episode 8 synopsis that two people end up altered. I have to think this is Sam and Nick. I'm guessing Nick will say yes to Michael and Sam will end up the king of hell or something. (Which would fit Dabb saying that Sam's leadership is part of a bigger story he couldnt' talk about). Then the "bigger toll" on Dean will be him having once again to put aside his traumas to deal with everyone elses. Dabb sucks. -
This is why making Sam a leader is a dangerous thing. Power goes to this head. We saw it with Ruby and later when he believed he was God's chosen. He couldn't even conceive of the notion that he might not be. We've seen shades already where he is micromanging and controlling the AU hunters every move. If we had better writers I would think they were trying to make Sam learn a lesson. But I think, they really believe Sam is coming across as some kind of standard for leaders everywhere to follow. That's why I know nothing will ever happen to Charlie. I expect her to save the day down the line somewhere and her to thank Sam for convincing her to say. I think they were trying to make Sam seem inspirational, but he came across as John. He's also a hypocrite that he expects Dean to check in and clear things with him, but not vice versa. I guess "Chief" doesn't have to answer to anyone. Do as I say, not as I do, seems to be Sam's management style. This is also why Dean should never ever confide or make himself seem vulnerable in front of Sam. Sam will use it against every time and act like he's weak. For me, its further proof Sam doesn't have respect for Dean or his hunting abilities. "Just you two?" Shut up Sam. I agree. It came across as control. I admit I kind of tuned out on the Sam/Charlie scenes. They were kind of a snooze fest. So when she talked about the tech stuff, I thought it was Sam and Dean not being born that caused everything. That they weren't there to stop the Lucifer and Michael fight? After watching that Marionette fight, I have a hard time believing that a Michael/Lucifer fight was powerful enough to zap all the electroncis. But there might have been more of an explantion that I missed. I find Sam just doesn't really connect with people. Even with the bunker hunters he doesn't seem to know anything about them other than their name. Last week, during a celebration none of them even looked in "Chief's" direction or even thanked him. It makes me wonder if Sam ever talked to them on a personal level. Does he know their stories, their strengthens, their weaknesses (something very important for leaders to know), did he guilt them into looking for Dean, even though he wasn't their fight? Do any of them want to go home? Do they have friends, families left over in apocalypse world? Not that I particularly care about any of this stuff but its just another reason why Sam comes across as playing leader rather than being one. They look like paid flunkies hired to give him authority.

I think those were the flashbacks we were promised.

I never felt like the number of episodes was the problem. The problem is Dabb. He doesnt' know how to tell a story. he just slaps a bunch of stuff together and hopes something sticks. I was hoping that the reduced order might have increased Jensen and Jared's screen time. I'd rather 13 episodes where they work full time rather than 20 where they get about 10minutes per episode.
-
I wasn't surprised because that would put a blemish on Chief's record. So I knew she wasn't killed but I knew she wouldnt' stay. Kind of hypocritical of him when he ran at every opportunity. So why the sudden 180. Is it because he know has adoring flunkies. Even Jared looks so uncomfortable with these lines.
-
Its not even mentioned. She wants to walk away because she's seen too much death and destruction. Sam guilt's her into staying by comparing to her to the Flyman.

I can finally mention what I've known since Jersey. Screw Jack driving the Impala. Just no. Dean doens't let anyone drive it -
Why the hell is Dean asking Sam for permission and running things by Sam. He's an adult. Imagine if that was reversed. Dean would be accused of controlling Sam. At least the capture was a team effort. I was right about no consistency. The monster didn't recognized Dean as Michael or care about the meat suit. Did I mention that Dean doesn't need permission from chief. Screw that. Dean checking on Bobby, and mentoring and giving advice without needing to shame people. He's a much better leader than Sam. It seems that the whole purpose of Sam and Charlie was so all wise and supreme leader Chief could guilt trip Charlie into staying. Can't have any flaws or imperfections on Chiefs record. I did like Dean's plan. I've missed that out of the box thinking. The editing and directing were terrible. All choppy and weird. At least they didn't throw Dean under the bus to pimp Jack. He made mistakes on this hunt. Dean actually was allowed to say that. Take note "Chief" Again Dean doesnt' need Sam's permission. I hate this. I hate that he has to clear everything with Sam. But Charlie can hunt alone. Roll my eyes. At least charlie doesn't listen to Chief The Sam pimping is getting over the top ridiculous. If you have to work that hard to sell something maybe something is getting lost in translation in your writing. what was the homage

I don't think we're getting Demon Dean flashbacks. Jensen has worn that shirt many times.
