  1. Agree 1000 %. I find that people use that phrase when they are trying to convince themselves that what they are doing (but which they may have a doubt about) is the correct course of action. Most frequently when taking a vacation or having a party shortly after a loved one has passed. Not saying that Glen doesn't have the complete right to meet his other family but it is a stretch to speak for his deceased wife.
  2. Along the lines of Carlin asking Layla, "Am I your best friend?"
  3. A book which I highly recommend is The End of Overeating; Taking Control of the Insatiable American Appetite by David Kessler M.D. It is an exposition on how the food companies engineer junk food to be addictive. Fun fact: The Snickers candy bar has been rated as the most palatable combination of taste/mouth feel/and texture ever developed. The food companies manipulate their product in a way similar to what the tobacco companies had been doing. In fact, they are often owned by the same consortium. I think it may be this book that also makes the link between obesity and the diet food industry... I can not imagine the damage Carlin and Evan are doing to their children by pacifying them with junk food. And it's hard to believe the amount of money they are squandering they might need it later for health care.
  4. Given that Twit is now cosplaying Babs it makes sense that if she knew that Ruby was making up words to be "cute" that she would do it as well. There have been numerous times when Twit has tried to be cute but was just obnoxious. (Fairly recent example was when Glen advised her not to touch latch on the exit door at his place of business and she went out of her way to push it with her elbow thus activating the alarm.)
  5. And I am wondering if they will claim that they can't pay due to financial circumstances.
  6. Having had two malicious narcissists in my family (one is a first cousin and one is a sister adopted from another country) they both have similarities to the Big Twit. What they have in common is that they failed at being responsible adults and since they couldn't manage their own lives they felt a measure of success by being overbearing with other members of the family. Whitney has failed at romantic relationships, keeping herself healthy, and in every endeavor she has undertaken. Instead she is trying to run Glenn's life because it gives her a feeling of power and success. BTW the cousin is also obese and currently bed-ridden and stewing in her own hatred. When her only sister goes to visit she screams at her.
  7. He irks me as well. That crucifix pose reminds me of Scott Stapp of Creed.
  8. Pet peeve: high tea is not what they think it is. What they want is afternoon tea. Martha Stewart has made the same error countless times. Afternoon tea: delicate crustless sandwiches, bite size quiche, tiny cakes and tarts served at low tables by white gloved waiters. High tea is a light supper eaten at a higher table. From my recollection as a kid in England - usually a salad, hard boiled egg and salad creme. While we're talking food. I made an oriental style orange cauliflower last night. "Breaded" with almond flour after egg wash, let it dry and used the air fryer. Sauce was fresh orange juice, mirin, tamari thickened with arrowroot with a splash of maple syrup. BF grew up eating squirrel, bear and turtle and he liked it a lot. Of course, that might mean he will eat anything that is put in front of him.
  9. I don't follow these two morons on sm however, have they ever mentioned that they even HAVE health insurance? I know they continue to seek medical attention and that the physicians haven't cut them off but perhaps they are on some sort of payment plan and making very low payments. Or, even worse, Carlin is following her father's strategy of paying for medical care.
  10. When the news first came out everyone thought the half-sibling was a son. I remember some people commenting that they wished it had been a sister, a thin, beautiful, accomplished, sister.
  11. It has been a while since I saw the episode where either Babs or Whitney referred to the mother of the half-sister by name. Although, there was no mention of a child. It might have been during the Hawaii episode where Babs wishes to not meet her during the trip were stated. Let's not forget that Babs was previously married before she married Glenn. In other words, they both had prior lives which they wanted to keep in the past.
  12. Word has it that it was when he was stationed in Japan and learned of it when he had returned home.
  13. Thanks for filling in the details.
  14. Actually, several years ago on one of the original Below Deck franchises a male deck hand posted something racist/misogynistic to his social media after the season had been taped. Production recut the footage and he was disappeared although he remained onboard. I can't remember if there was an explanation or not.
  15. Maybe to make it more difficult to provide top quality service so there will be more things for the guests to dislike? Unscripted drama ensues without need for writers.
  16. Tubi TV (which is totally free) has the first nine seasons available. Ava and pageant Dad David were in one of the first episodes of season one - when she was a baby. David carried her on stage and she was sleeping through the whole thing.
  17. I can't believe I'm saying this but I think I saw a bucket of freeze dried meals in the grocery section (not camping) at a rural Super-Walmart. It is in a town that is well known for attracting back woods type folks so there are probably a lot of preppers within driving distance. Will have to take a photo of the "survival bucket" next time I see it.
  18. I wonder if the timing for Evan to pick up his new Tesla was to show off to Travis? "Neener, neener..mine is newer than yours."
  19. June 29, 6:05 a.m. Did Mika really say (not read) but say syNchofants?
  20. Also about accents. Born in Northern N.J. and moved to England for a year with my family when in 5th grade. I did not want to go, and I was determined to not speak with a British accent. Refused to say "can't" the way the general populace did. Returned home and all my friends said they loved my British accent. Couldn't believe I had picked it up against my will - then I heard an audio tape.😀
  21. Only after buying and paying for shipping. I know, assuming they aren't repeat buyers. The boutique has very nice shipping labels, perhaps they also sprung for BSB labels to be sewn in at place of manufacture.
  22. Perhaps the people who opt for buying from the BSB rather than online mistakenly think they are "buying American".
  23. I almost think she is doing it to feel "fancy".
  24. It's "imporDant" that always gets me. I think it is only KJ who says it that way. Even if it's not, it is her saying it that makes me crazy/
