  1. Amen to that as well to all the bad table manners we have seen from these "upscale" guests on all of the franchises. And I'm not just talking about last season's guest who was banging her silverware together demanding food.
  2. Well the Duggar boys might apreciate more. (Jk, I knew what you meant.)
  3. The rainbow mug notwithstanding, Trent has shown himself to be a silent observer without interacting much with anyone. It makes me think that he has picked up on a lot about Rebecca so when they do interact he will be a little ahead of the introductory phase.
  4. Didn't Trent Crimm briefly mention a daughter in a past episode? If that is the case then I see a pairing with Rebecca to be the family that the psychic predicted. I would be satisfied with that since he has shown himself to be someone who would be a good partner for her. He knows football, has come to watch and appreciate the Richmond team and has an encyclopedic knowledge of the game.
  5. Now that this is back, I did a rewatch of the first seasons and looked into the IMDB of Brett Goldstein. Found it interesting that he was originally hired as a writer for the show, resonated with the Roy Kent character and actually auditioned for it. Another case of an actor being very successful in a role for which he had not been originally envisioned. Another is Mike Smith, (Bubbles) who was originally a sound mixer on Trailer Park Boys. He was goofing around on set and the Director noticed him and wrote the part into the script. There must be others who have become well known and successful through serendipity.
  6. That's what I was trying to remember. Thanks. I totally recognize the difference between them and the non-bride and her Mom. Randy and the consultants have shown themselves to be generally kind and sentimental with some of the clients. Especially those with whom they feel a connection due to similar life events.
  7. Maybe some of you can remember better than I, but in some cases when brides and their friends went to an appointment without intending to buy, but just for the experience, didn't Randy or one of the consultants comment on it. (They were gentle and subtle but they did mention it.)
  8. I thought of that as well. Now I am wondering if the bridal consultants who appear on the show are paid. If that were the case then it wouldn't be a waste of their time. I thought it was Kleinfelds who were paid for use of the facilities and also got free advertising. Until Bridget, Holly and Kendra negotiated for compensation for their appearances on GND they were not paid. Source: Girls Next Level podcast.
  9. I thought the three brides featured in this episode was to showcase how accommodating the consultants are. Several dresses for Jessica and she chose none of them, difficult and demanding dance mom, and, non-bride daughter choosing her Mom's gown. I thought that was the most manipulative. The Mom could have told the truth to her daughter and let her try it on before putting the Kleinfeld staff to all the trouble of pulling gowns and steaming the Mom's. Daughter immediately recognized it, what else could she have done than to try it on? I did not like this at all.
  10. Well, DUH. Are you unaware that certain southern states are trying to prohibit drag shows? Do you not see the inferences that will be drawn?
  11. Unfortunately since the shooter is transgender it will only give more reason to discriminate. BTW the shooter was fluid in how they presented themselves. Sometimes female sometimes male.
  12. I wonder if C&E have gotten a taste for cruises - as well as a taste for the free champagne at Captain's Night. I agree with those who have said that the experience was probably lost on them. Much like the social influencer depicted in the Oscar nominated movie Triangle of Sadness. The protagonist won a cruise on a luxury ship but spent the entire time taking selfies and videos to post. Full disclosure: I travel a lot by ship. Sure, I fly as well but given the difference in crowded environments as well as the ill-mannered fellow flyers who think nothing of engaging in fistfights or, threatening crew with weapons if they don't get their way - give me a ship any day. .And because I have sailed (not cruised) a lot, I thought I would share one of the old tropes about steamship travel before the advent of air conditioning. When travelling through hot climates and when bananas are available at every meal and in many desserts it means that the morgue is full and the cooler needs to be cleared. To get to the medical office on one of my favorite ships go to C-6. (Elevator C deck 6 - or seasicks.) My Godmother died in her sleep on Queen Mary 2 just off the coast of Iceland. Her life-time companion who was with her said that it was handled impeccably with great care and concern.
  13. There are a few opportunities on a ship to have free champagne. I can't help but wonder if they will be giving it a try. After all, they are no longer following a lot of Bates family fundie rules. BTW, Norovirus is usually contracted by contacting surfaces that have virus particles and transferring them to mouth or nose. All one has to do is practice good hygiene when aboard. Wash hands, don't touch handrails or elevator buttons and then eat without washing hands. When there is an outbreak people are not allowed to serve themselves on the buffet line and plates are filled by buffet staff.
  14. Carnival is the "people of Walmart at Sea".More wet T-shirt contests, fist fights at the buffet and customers who try to find things about which to be outraged so they have their automatic tips removed. Although also a mass cruise line, Celebrity is more upscale and expensive. It remains to be seen what accommodations they are in. Also, if they are sharing a cabin with friends.
  15. Unless, of course you happen to be a Duggar, Bates, or someone else of that ilk. I just can't get over Pastor Rob's mustache. It just doesn't fit his face. Probably the actor was cast as a boy-man so he had masculine characteristics but was "safe" for Mary's crush.
  16. I'm sure none of the grown children who are trying to be influencers want to appear to be stupid, uneducated, or poorly read so why don't they use spell check? Carlin made a laughable spelling mistake which I cannot remember at the moment and Jessa Duggar made a sign to show her cooking skills early in her marriage: WaLa.
  17. Good point about Joel obtaining the car with Bill's blessing. It shows Bill's personal growth from being a prepper who hoarded materials to a more self actualized guy as a result of his relationship with Frank. When he no longer had need for the things he had used to keep them safe he knew Joel could make good use of them.
  18. Nashville, I really appreciated your reply. Thank you for clearly explaining the different focus used in video game vs tv show. I am not a fan of the zombie genre nor of the video game but was curious because there had been a lot of positive comments about this episode. Most of this thread was devoted to how good the acting was and how well the love story was told in a single episode. A post on the preceding page alludes to episode three as not furthering the plot but there were no comments on it. I could see that if the entire series is basically about love and lost love this episode is an exploration of having a rich and fulfilling life within a relatively short time frame.
  19. Amazing that you thought you recognized the actor. I never would have because of the hair and beard as well as the difference in mannerisms. (I know, good acting.) My bf is a huge fan of science fiction and zombie books and movies. I am not but watched this episode because I had heard good reviews of it. I thought it was a well crafted and acted episode. The bf is not a gamer but had watched the first two episodes. Throughout the hour he was saying that he failed to see how that story arc advanced the plot. Can anyone elucidate?
  20. It wasn't actually that long ago. I have travelled quite a bit by ship and recall the days when there was ship's stationary and even a mailbox in the reading room. Of course, the letters were mailed from the next port so sometimes the traveller arrived before the letter. . Within recent memory several of the Holland America ships had libraries. BUT, if you want to experience the largest library at sea as well as floor to ceiling windows and leather chairs and couches try the Queen Mary 2.
  21. They must still be paying the same rate as when the apartment was occupied.
  22. I'm so sad for you Hana. I share similar sadness at this time of year. My husband and I said good bye to our beloved pup the day before Christmas Eve and then, a few years later he told me there was "someone else".
  23. I couldn't agree more. He seems to have bought into the shtick of being the "stud of the sea". I've posted before that his folksy aphorisms were getting on my nerves and had ceased to be funny or shocking. That said, he has no business captaining a mega yacht. He doesn't look well. His eyes are dead and he looks depressed and in discomfort. Barking "God damn it " doesn't equate with being a leader.
  24. Babs passed away last night with Glenn, Hunter, and Whitney by her side. The latter has more details on her insta but she did mention that Babs had a condition which resulted in numerous brain bleeds which also led to cerebral hemhorrages. She had another event in November.
  25. While it probably is true this has not been confirmed. The story was posted by the moderator of a subreddit, and is cited in the article. To be fair a lot of what has been posted by that moderator has been proven to be true. So, time will tell. Seeing the big fat fabulous toddler throwing a tantrum would be something to behold. We've seen how she acts when jealous. I can only imagine if the half sibling had been a girl.
