Impressed by Jiya and that she is working on her Ph.D. The comment about Whitney wasting her time seems even more justified now. Sorry for Roy. He seems like a nice guy. He mentioned that he is a stress eater as well as the fact that he is not currently dating anyone. Perhaps those two things are related. Somewhere I saw a link to a picture of his girlfriend. I thought she resembled Whitney at her lowest weight. Worried about Babs not having recuperated more. Both Glenn and Babs didn't seem to be enjoying themselves.

Toddlers & Tiaras - General Discussion
Me from ME replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Toddlers & Tiaras
I really appreciated your reply. It seemed to me that Pro-Am seemed more difficult and required a lot more coaching and practice to present well. Now it just seems they need to smile, show their dimples, and look "cute" for the routine. I can't help wondering what would happen if one of the contestants busted a few moves while competing. -
Social Media: What's Up With Her?
Me from ME replied to ClareWalks's topic in My Big Fat Fabulous Life
Did she say why? I'm with you there. I don't think I've ever had one. If I want all the fat and calories I go all the way with a Pineapple Blizzard. I am making a conscious decision and know what I am getting since I usually follow a vegan diet. My boyfriend also hates the taste of coffee - even coffee ice cream. But he is more or less dependent upon 5 Hour Energy to ameliorate his migraine headaches as well as fatigue from working the night shift. I think it is a far less healthy alternative and I can't stand the smell of the stuff. And then, there is the research that indicates that coffee is a powerful anti-oxidant and can play a role in preventing alzheimers. So black coffee is a magical elixir in my estimation. -
I guess I missed that part. Thanks for clarifying. I barely watch this show, in fact, I don't know why I watch it. I can't even consider it a guilty pleasure. But some of the things she does tend to stick in my mind. And I am so glad to be able to come here to commiserate. For example, stuck her tongue out after she whined to Glenn, " but Daaaaaad, think of the cats (or was it kitties?)." Yep, that's a great reason to lower the value of your house, put a cat door into your dahnse studio.

Has anyone noticed how, urm, pared down her troupe has become lately? When she was wearing the boot and asked them if they wanted to battle without her I saw Todd, Tal, Mattie, and maybe two other women. Counting Whit there seemed to be 6 people present.

Not only that, but I think when she was younger she embarrassed her mother by both her behavior and her appearance. She didn't feel truly cherished by either parent so distinguished herself by being "a badass". (Her words not mine.) I think that their apparent unconditional positive regard for her is because the cameras are rolling, They do occasionally slip and let their feelings about her show. They know she isn't a fully functioning adult. Any TLC money is more than she would earn otherwise and less for them to provide. -

Oh, she is so needy, so hungry. She misinterprets a smile as a flirtation. An invitation to ride a horse asa date. A coworker being nice is an infatuation on his part. She expressed her love for Todd and followed it up with a question if he loved her back. Why has she not been in counselling to clarify her feelings? -
OK, minor point, but a real annoyance. Twit Dear, keep your tongue IN YOUR MOUTH. I know you think you look cute but I am disgusted. The most egregious example is when Todd invited you to accompany him to NY city. GAH, I know you have practiced it in the mirror. In public, just NO!

OK, you asked for it :-) First, do you know or have observed coach Nikki? Is she liked/respected and just got a very bad edit? Second, did Pro-Am just fade away or, was it a decision by the pageant directors? -

S04.E11: Big Girl in the Big Apple

I think they are fashion contact lenses. Same for Whit in earlier talking heads when she was wearing the cobalt blue top. -

And not definite proof of anything but when someone has a rainbow on their t-shirt... (I might have seen this in one of the linked videos. And I wish I could move like that. Not just the steps but the overall panache.) -

Didn't she say on FB that if she travels for business she gets two seats on a plane for herself? I would consider this trip business - TLC business and they probably paid for it anyway especially since they obtained video of her talking about the seatbelt extender. Someone else said that Whitney has no boundaries. It was a minor thing but when she was driving to the dance battle she had her hand on Todd's neck in a really proprietary way. It's no wonder that she expected to snuggle with him in that shared bed. -
Whitney Thore: So She Thinks She Can Dance
Me from ME replied to Meredith Quill's topic in My Big Fat Fabulous Life
File this one under revisionist history. I have been noticing this for a while but I guess it is so obvious that no one has mentioned it. Her standard story which has been oft repeated is that she was thin until she went to college and then PCOS caused the enormous weight gain. And while there are two pictures of her at her most slender most of the other ones to not bear that out. She is not thin (not obese but not thin) in her prom gown which I assume was shortly before she went to college. She looks squeezed into that gown and spanxed from neck to knee. I maintain that she has always struggled with her weight and depression. Her eating disorders seem to have ranged from bulimia to a period of anorexia to uncontrolled overeating. And, I'm going way out on a limb here, but, hey, I'm not a psychologist but I am in my arm chair so here goes. Her appetites (food, alcohol, sex and attention) are an attempt to fill something that is missing. And having a legion of leg humpers seems to be what she thinks she needs although it won't be sustaining and when her show and speaking engagements dry up she will be in worse shape emotionally. I wish she would do a lot of things but a pet peeve of mine is that she intersperses her current photos with those taken when she was much younger. The reason it bugs is that her acolytes don't realize that and gush at how beautiful she is which only serves to feed her ego which makes her continue. -

Yeah, the camera people and editors aren't in awe of her fabulousness. (I guess if I were Whit I'd say fabulosity.) -

Speaking of her ability to dance, I am always astounded at the turn and step and (is that a step ball change) she is shown doing in the promos for the shows. It is hardly what one would consider controlled and she appears to be on the verge of stumbling/falling before she lurches off screen. -
No, but when she is dressed in a way that he finds inappropriate he could remove himself, explain that he is uncomfortable with how she is dressed and that he will return when she wears something more modest e.g. not a sheet over her naked body. He could even have asked to see her belly dancing costume and excuse himself from attending the activity. Yeah, weird as all get out that her parents go to all of her events and lavish praise on her.

Good one!!

I think Hunter was beyond being over this circus. He looked absolutely mortified in every shot. I am sure that the editors don't like her. Why else would they repeat the "senshus" clip over and over? Wait, she had to dance choreography she had barely learned in front of a huge crowd? Hypocritical much? First, she agreed to do it second, BGDC participants may have known they had signed up for a tv show but I doubt they were looking for a parade, a demo at the NFF or a dance battle.

Wild, wild speculation here. Perhaps he is dating Tal and dating Whit as a favor (or dare). Or, for the quick money.

Shay is not right for this show. It is all about HIM. He gets the "feels" if it is supposed to be all about the bride instead of, oh, say her family, why are they letting it be all about [snark font] the fabulous[/snark font] ill dressed consultant.

Say Yes To The Dress - General Discussion
Me from ME replied to Rhondinella's topic in Say Yes To The Dress
Barbie Mom with the fake, fake, fake hair...I think the camera person and editors revile her also. Note that they showed her staggering in her stripper heels as she returned from trying on her MOB/wedding dress and promised to behave. -

She only needs 8 cabins for hers to be free. And, yea, I was tempted to book independently and she what was going on but since she conveniently broke her toe and stayed on her balcony I guess I didn't miss much.
