  1. I can't decide if it was taken a few years ago, was heavily photoshopped or both. I think I can see some telltale photo editing around the chin.
  2. Terri Gross interviewed her a few days ago about her book, Hunger.
  3. I do recall the fashion show that but the grey slacks don't seem to be of the style I remember. And it is the seller who referred to the clothes as being from the Craig Conover Collection.
  4. As far as I know, and that is only from what I have learned from popular culture, swiping right is only on Tinder, which is a dating/hook up site. It is a quick way of sorting people by appearance. If person A swipes right on person B because A would like to know B a little better then, if person B feels similarly they will swipe right on person A and they then can enter into a dialogue. Now, as far as your second question, that is something only the Oracle at Delphi can answer. It seems downright Skeevy to have a sibling swipe right, And to beg for a pity swipe from your brother is just,plain.desperate.
  5. She must be EXHAUSTING to live with. Not doing or saying the exact thing that she wants invites being nagged. And not just by her but by her minions. Sorry about the double quotes. I couldn't figure out how to remove them.
  6. The Craig Conover Collection? Items that were left at the seller's studio? Can anyone clarify?
  7. Hey this is fun. Spot the differences in the two pictures. He is wearing a different shirt, she has eye glasses on her head in the second one and he has more of a beard growth in the second one. Oh yes, he has sunglasses and she has a necklace in the second. But the one nice thing is that they do look happy in both.
  8. Upon rewatching the episode in Season 1 in which Thomas invited Danni to a polo lesson at his plantation I am of the opinion that she was turned off by his adolescent behavior. She might have mentioned his age as being a factor but that's a lot simpler than explaining his behavior. He was not at all subtle about wanting her to drink too much and stay over night. The conversation on his part was so incredibly lame and his talking head about the possibility of her being "the next Mrs. Thomas Ravenal" was much too premature. He didn't seem to realize that he couldn't just select a wife to suit him. When he walked her out to her car after JD's picnic and tried to kiss her but was rebuffed both he and JD characterized it as being a high school move. If Danni found a real adult man (as opposed to Shep and T Rav) who will treat her well and show her the world I think she couldn't do better than that, regardless of his age or appearance. Shep and T Rav are both looking rough lately anyway.
  9. They should take a hint from the Bates who celebrated Valentine's Day by having the men not only cook the meal but serve the women.
  10. And then, there are the "gentleman hosts" who receive free passage in exchange for ballroom dancing with single ladies. They are not allowed to fraternize with said single travelers when off the dance floor, cannot dance with the same woman twice in a row, must attend all the ballroom dance lessons to partner with ladies without one AND are assigned to small inside cabins with 3 other gentlemen hosts. And they must be impeccably turned out when in public.
  11. I don't think 8 inside cabins will yield a comped balcony though. So, Whit needs 16 people who will be paying the higher fare in order for her to have one of the nicer cabins.
  12. What is bizarre is seeing mothers in their 40s going into hysterics at the sight of them as well as going to great lengths to meet them including wearing disguises. I was never a NKOTB fan but they really did seem to extend themselves for the fans. For example one was getting married on board and somehow arranged to have one of the New Kids attend her wedding.
  13. Well, that cruise with the Goths had easily more than 200, and after watching Rock this Boat, I have concluded that the New Kids on the Block appear to almost fill the ship with their fans. I would be tempted to book the December cruise but there is no way I would pay the extra $400 to be able to rub shoulders with the Whit. Also, I highly doubt that anyone is getting their drinks comped since there is such a huge markup on alcoholic drinks. In fact that and the casino are how the cruise lines make money and can offer such low fares. As far as that new fashion line of hers, you would have thought she might have had her hair looking a little nicer.
  14. Aw thanks. But I think I'll leave the commenting on social media to those of you who monitor it on the regs. (Which I really appreciate since it fills in so many details.) However it won't keep me from snarking on her since she provides so much material.
  15. Thanks for the clarification. Now I know I should stay away from social media, Sorry everyone.
  16. On Insty she has a reference to the new season starting in September. Oh Lordy.
  17. As a former regular viewer I tuned in yesterday since my Mom is with me and she used to be a big fan of Regis and Kathy Lee. (I once really liked Kelly and my DH and I were in the audience twice when Regis was still on the show. She was really nice and accommodating during breaks as well as after the taping. DH liked her as well and the second time sent a note with a picture I had taken of him and Kelly asking for her autograph. He received a signed 8 x 12 glossy.) I never really liked Ryan Seacrest but when I DVRed it yesterday I saw Ryan helping her into her chair and proprietarily patting her on the butt or chair area very near her butt. I rewatched a few times. Did any one else see this or notice similar behavior on his part?
  18. Is it too late to submit a category? I'd like to know who is The Biggest Narcissist (as opposed to, oh, I don't know, The Largest Narcissist).
  19. I know some maritime historians and journalists who are frequent onboard lecturers. All they get is free passage in exchange for doing a few talks during the crossing. Well, that, and invitations to the most exclusive private cocktail parties in the large suites. If anyone gets a group together there is one free cabin per block of 8 that is booked so if you have a lot of friends it's not a bad way of getting a free vacation. I seem to recall that the Duke of Windsor and Wallace did not have to pay at all since it was good advertising for the line that they were frequently on board.
  20. Following my usual rule of reserving air and car travel for getting from point to point and only when necessary, I have travelled several thousand miles on Amtrak and have the stories to prove it. It seems as if there was also something out of the ordinary on the long trips. I could write a book. Once we boarded in San Antonio, stopped in Fort Worth or a while - we got out to stretch our legs. Returned to our bedroom to see several law enforcement officers with guns drawn knocking on the room next to us. There was a drug sniffing dog and we saw the young couple who had been in the room next door marched off, under custody, and bare foot. We should have thought something was unusual when the conductor came to our room shortly after SA and gave us coupons for free drinks at the bar. That was to smoke the younger couple out but they stayed in their room. But that's not what I found interesting it was that we looked for the police who we had seen outside our room dressed believably as college students, middle aged housewives and business men around the train as we continued on to Chicago.
  21. There's only one ship I know of that does the transatlantic route and has kennels. The cats and dogs who are relocating with their families wait to board right outside the equivalent of the First Class passenger lounge. And they really aren't afraid to show their excitement. They participate in the mandatory life boat drill wearing custom made pfds and on one of the formal nights have their photographs taken by the professional on board photographer. They wear coats which are issued to them as part of their travel package and pose with their family who are also in their finery. There are a few group pictures also. There is a stipulation that the humans must visit their four legged family members for a certain number of hours a day so by the end of the crossing everyone in that community is well acquainted with each other and the group photos are full of joy. BTW I like road trips too but I don't really consider them to be vacations. I like nothing better than taking to the wilderness in my 4WD with camping equipment, food, water and maps not knowing what adventure lies ahead.
  22. Those are my absolute favorite for many reasons. Being at sea and away from intrusions of the modern world for several days at a time is something I very much enjoy. On the more formal ships with men in black tie and women in gowns and being attended to is so much like living in an English country house if only for a week. For me a real vacation does not involve an automobile or air travel so a transatlantic is my preferred means of transportation. I could go on... In December there is a crossing which features the crossword puzzle creators of the NY Times which is highly tempting to me. That is probably the only themed trip I would pay for. I have travelled on the same voyages as various well known people - not that I knew them but we just happened to have the same destinations. On one trip I remember talking to a couple from Oxford, I believe his father had been a professor and Linus Pauling was a family friend. The man described sitting at the kitchen table one day and listening to his father and Linus musing about how odd it seemed that they didn't get head colds when they drank orange juice. (Linus Pauling theorized that Vitamin C was somewhat protective against rhinovirus.) To me, that was far more interesting than seeing a well known actor at the Purser's desk at 4 am wearing only his bathrobe and slippers but that's just me.
  23. Yep, the whole package...senshus AND symmetrical.
  24. Actually it could be lipedema or lymphedema. They appear similar but different etiologies. Some people on M600PL have both. http://www.lymphedema.com/lipedema.htm
