In Memoriam: Entertainment Industry Celebrity Deaths

I know he directed some great movies. For whatever reason though, the main thing tied to Bogdanovich in my brain is that he and Dorothy Stratten were lovers. She moved into his house and told her husband Paul that she was leaving him because she was in love with Bogdanovich. -
I'm right there with all of you that this episode was incredibly hard to watch even though she was successful. About halfway through it hit me that she literally, (in the right sense of the word) looked like an infant. When she was lying flat on the bed with no clothes on, looking up at her mommy, I thought she looked exactly like a baby in a crib. Then add to it that when she cried it was just like how an infant cries: first scrunching up the face till it turns red and then after a slight delay, bursting forth with ungodly wailing. (inserted gif below to show what I mean) The mom made it quite clear that Margaret was her BABY, and wouldn't let Dr. Paradise say otherwise.

He tried as hard as he could. How typical is it that what Dr. Smith said was heard through Tammy's filter as an "ultimatum". No. it was more of a pause, waiting for her to care about herself. I do not think it means what you think it means. Tammy told the doctor that she had no signal in order to do a Zoom meeting with the therapist. WTF? Is she not on her phone, YT and the internet all day long? She didn't like that therapist, it happens, but I think she's using that to completely dismiss all therapy. She doesn't want to get better, and I actually understand that.

Valerie's Home Cooking - General Discussion

They had a re-run on yesterday with Tom . Made me sad because they were a cute couple. -
I agree about the millionaires trying to haggle. It takes the fun out of it. As for Frank, reading between the lines it sounds like he had a bad back that was very painful, which may have led to some substance abuse issues. If that's the case, then his friends and family may have had to cut the cord. Finally, Mike getting divorced and hooking up with a stripper/porn star shouldn't bother me, but it does and I can't help it.

Lol, no apology necessary! I was just afraid that I was going to see a viral tweet somewhere about how Amazon gives cans of cranberry sauce to all of their employees as a bonus 😆

Say What?: Commercials That Made Us Scratch Our Heads

Yes, I think the ding has that Pavlovian element that makes people pay attention. Also yes, you're overthinking it, however that's what we all do here!! There would be no PTV forums without overthinking things. 😀 -

I adore Dr. Emma. TLC is pissing me off though, because the "coming up next" clip at the commercial breaks are always spoilers, which takes all the fun out of it.

I wasn't planning to download this game, however the commercial nearly makes me want to do it. It doesn't hurt that it's Kathy Bates.

That was one of my posts . To clarify, I don't believe that Amazon did that across the company, it was a single warehouse that had idiots in HR. That warehouse also gave the employees a smiley-face stress ball as a means of helping with their mental health.

I usually decline the swag but I do have an exception. For many years I donated to WWF to gift these stuffed animals to my niece and nephews for the holidays. Each year they got to choose which one they wanted, and it ended up getting them very interested in the animal, and in the concept of both charity and conservation. I have a friend who workED in an Amazon warehouse. One year as a thank you at Thanksgiving, they gave everyone a can of jellied cranberry sauce in a paper bag. I kid you not. That place is even worse than the stories you hear.

I hate the Chime ads, however that woman has a beautiful voice which softens this particular one (for me). -

The spiders inside my house are my buddies. I've seen carpenter ants in their webs, so they are apparently better than my exterminator! Here’s Why You Should Never Kill A Spider (Warning- picture of spider at top of article)

It's even better. I think that's his shirt, not a new one.

Kwanzaa begins on December 26th, so there is plenty of time to offer holiday wishes.

That was my first thought as well. I know plenty of people who do anything they can not to give up a rent controlled apartment in the city. They are GOLD. Someone upthread said that at least he did better than Ryan. I have to applaud the kindness of that statement since that bar wasn't just low, it was sitting on the ground.

It's often a matter of the dining room table size. Having a kids table was actually pretty fun (until you reach a certain age) and it felt special, rather than than exclusionary. Sitting with the grown-ups was boring when I was that young. YMMV of course.

Two words: expense account.

That's a completely rational and logical suggestion, if only it would make a difference to them. I think it would probably be like explaining to a crack addict how they would not have to live on the street if instead, they got high off of their endorphins by jogging. They're addicted to the fat, salt and carbs. Unfortunately, unless they're deep fried, healthy food doesn't cut it for them. On the other hand, as a viewer I would find it totally useful and interesting!!

I don't think she really wants it. When her mother asked if she still wanted the surgery, she gave a quiet, hesitant "yes", but it seemed like she only said what she thought her mother wanted to hear. PS, while her mother is a pretty nasty woman overall, her tears and emotion about Tammy possibly dying early were genuine and heartbreaking.

They had the GBBO Christmas Masterclass on PBS this past weekend, and watching Paul and Mary bake together was positively delightful. Mary was clever and playful, while Paul was like her mischievous little brother, who got serious when it was his turn to bake. (Not quite a mother/son relationship). Up till then I really hadn't thought much about Paul and Prue, but that made it obvious how disconnected they are from one another.
