I didn't go more than one link deep in Google and found a peer reviewed retrospective study in PubMed where it's used for IBS in children. The difference is that it is CONTRAINDICATED in those under 6 years, but it can help other diseases in children >6 yrs if used with caution. The wording makes sense to doctors, it's just not language that consumers understand. This makes no sense to me, because the fair balance is intended for the general public, not doctors.

Say Yes To The Dress - General Discussion
cynicat replied to Rhondinella's topic in Say Yes To The Dress
Agree! Now that you say that, I wonder if this show is basically adults playing virtual Barbie through watching real people try on lots of different dresses? Or else it's a ridiculous thought I just need more coffee. Could be both. -

Say Yes To The Dress - General Discussion

I think that Gok has a plan in the way he chooses dresses. It could be that he wants to see how they react to specific features. Ultimately, it seems like a funnel that starts with 'anything goes' down to the perfect dress. -
Commercials That Annoy, Irritate or Outright Enrage

Maybe they mean those over18yrs who have their mommies and daddies come with them on their job interviews, and have them yell at their college professors if they get a bad grade. I'm not making this shit up. -

I really want to see a longer term follow up on the woman with the lymphedema. She and her daughter were just lovely! -

To me, the optics for whole Michael Richards fiasco are uniquely amplified because of the squeaky clean aura of the Jeopardy show. Conducting an elaborate sham hiring process when a candidate has been hand selected in advance happens every day in the business world. When it's this obvious, it erodes trust. Been there. Jeopardy has always been a show perceived as uber ethical , trustworthy and honest. This whole clusterfuck has tarnished that image. -
Dr. Pimple Popper - General Discussion

Are you in Eastern or Western NC? I lived there for many years, and I could imagine it happening from places in and around the Appalachians. That's a beautiful but weird part of the state. I felt really bad for how he had been treated. The woman with those cysts was adorable. -
Offering up a PSA here. I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic , but if you are, that's a real thing. If not, [à la Emily Littella] nevermind! When they do dental procedures, the bacteria from your teeth and gums shower the rest of your body, often going to organs like heart valves or kidneys. If your immune system is adequate that's usually no big deal, but if there's any damage, (like a knee replacement), that area could be more susceptible. This doesn't typically happen in routine procedures like cleanings. It mainly happens when they have to do something more invasive like pulling a tooth, root canal, etc. The mouth mucosa has a massive blood supply that's easily accessible to bacteria. Now returning to regular programming.

Admittedly, I can't know her degree of dementia and can only go from personal experience. My Mom has dementia and she was the best at making it look like she was fine to outsiders, but our family knew better. She was far gone before anyone, other than her doctor, believed us. FWIW, in those mid to late days, my mother was beyond paranoid and thought everyone was trying to hurt her. Sadly, someone with dementia screaming for help isn't an abnormal thing. -
Say Yes To The Dress - General Discussion

I'm getting a bit tired of the "My wedding is in 2 weeks" made up drama. Along with Randy frantically going through the racks saying, "I don't know if we can find one this time!" When it was occasional, I was OK with it, however it seems to now be very contrived. Of course they'll find a dress. -
Bringing the discussion about expiration dates on food over here. Some bottled water has an expiration date. I once had one that was expired and thought, "what the fuck does this even mean?"

Taking expiration dates comment to small talk

Or if not, then they should just shut up.

Yup. I was thinking that being totally naked on stage while playing a boy who had an sexual/religious infatuation with horses sort of checked some of those boxes... 😉

I remember that he did the show Equus on Broadway right after he was finished with Harry Potter. Once he did that, I wasn't surprised by anything he did and figured he clearly loves to take roles that completely challenge him.

Valerie's Home Cooking - General Discussion

I guess mine is an UO, because I enjoy hearing stories about her childhood and she did seem brighter when she was talking about her Mom. I'll agree that the Eddie stories are getting out of hand, particularly without the balance of knowing she's in a happy marriage now. That made it more palatable. -
Of course, even if she lost 200lbs, she'd still be morbidly obese at ~400lbs. While it would be headed in the right direction, that weight still carries many health risks. The damage may already have been done. So sad.

My PBS station had a mini-marathon of GBBO with only bread week from multiple different seasons. It was such a treat to re-watch Paul make his bread lion! I like this concept and hope it wasn't a one-time thing. (It was likely on all PBS stations but it's always hard to tell if what I'm seeing is only my station, or everywhere.)

My Feet Are Killing Me - General Discussion
cynicat replied to Meredith Quill's topic in My Feet Are Killing Me
That guy with the horns on his feet was both disgusting and rewarding. His son really loved him--you could see it. That's despite his dad tricking him into licking his foot. That was sort of hysterical and more in line of what an older sibling would do. 😁 -
Was he dancing? I am shallow enough to say I was paying more attention to his abs.

I like Valerie and try to give her the benefit of the doubt as often as I can, but this is weird. Makes me wonder if Steven Tyler brought his Mom along with him on tour. -
Should anyone ask me what this show is about and why should they watch, that is the sentence I'll use.

Say Yes To The Dress - General Discussion

Yes! The entourage can often be really distracting. I'll take a bride by herself all day long. And yes, I want to see more dresses, in particular not the same 5 dresses recycled on different brides.- 4.1k replies
