  1. Tammy is addicted to food. Amy and the family are addicted to Tammy. Not easy to quit an addiction of any kind.
  2. I may be mistaken, but didn't Dr. Now say something at the end about doubting that Paul ever wanted to have the surgery, and that family had ulterior motives? If it was to become famous on SM for being a hated poundticipant, then ghosting Dr. Now and not losing weight is a mere drop in the ocean when compared to Penny, the Assanti bros, and our newly added Lacey. Paul is a piker. **ETA- This comment is in the wrong thread since it's actually about Ryan. For some reason the two of them blend together in my mind. I think it says something (not sure what) that either no one noticed, or Paul's episode isn't worth the energy of the correction. 😆
  3. They might need to add a new category: Most Traumatizing Series
  4. Except shut up when you don't ask her anything.
  5. I can't help but recall this Dave Chapelle routine about Jussie Smollet. (Contains nasty language)
  6. Didn't Dr. Now say that his stomach was the size of 3 footballs? Holy shit, that's nearly as big as my whole torso!
  7. Because of Dr. Now, or because of Lacey? They've always subtitled him.
  8. @Crazycatlady, my apologies since that must have come out wrong. It wasn't the people I was commenting on, it was the fact that it seems like a very specialized business in a town and area of low density. FWIW, I googled Dixon, KY and the closest place that I could find for high tea was nearly 4 hours away in Indy and it looked nothing like the place they were.
  9. Good point. Who would ever open up a place serving "high tea" in Bumfuck, KY?
  10. The producer corrected her right after she gave her age as 35. She misspoke--she was really 45
  11. I'm still not 100% clear about this. Ricky didn't know she made those appointments, or he knew and she lied about why she missed them? He went to "I love you baby" to batshit cray cray in about 2.7 seconds, with his sister gleefully stoking the fire. I really like the positive episodes where the poundticipants struggle, and eventually get there, but holy crap, this was Must See TV.
  12. They are both still around, at least in grocery stores near me.
  13. IMHO, on a show like this, the judging can't help but have an element of subjectivity. It comes down to each judge's personal impression. I suppose it could be made more objective by scoring each bake on a scale of 1-10, but to me that would take the fun out of the show. Giuseppe and Chigs were so close, I was fine with either of them winning. Same thing with the semi-final.
  14. Who could forget this classic? I looked up the original and it was from the 1950's! And don't forget the addition of Jingle Cats:
  15. That would make her an Oscar level actress because there is definite anger in her statements. What I do think is producer driven is the editing. They are likely cherry picking the bad and leaving out any soft or loving scenes.
  16. Didn't she follow that comment up with something like, 'but if that happens I'll be OK with it because that will mean he's lost weight and would be healthy'?
  17. It's mortifying and embarrassing to share that I had that attitude as an early teen. Tammy is a 13 year old, but on steroids. (Supersized?).
  18. I chalked that up to the fact that she didn't gain any weight, and that she was mostly accountable instead of getting mad and pushing back
  19. Agree. This really was a tough call, and at least to me, they were all neck and neck. Jürgen was creative in different flavors, but personally I thought that sometimes they were odd. (Beets and matcha?) His real error was spending too much time on the centerpiece, which was clearly a passion, when he should have spent that time on the entremets which were meant to be the main focus. The centerpiece was secondary as Prue and Paul alluded to multiple times during the judging. Last week many were upset because Lizzie was eliminated instead of Jürgen, even though he dropped his sausage rolls and had a relatively visually boring cake with no embellishments. At these levels of competition, it's not who is worst as much as who is very slightly below all the other excellent bakers.
  20. I saw that as well, and my brain decided to fanwank that her mother wouldn't let her wear heels in the 50's because she was too young (and still growing). Yeah, it's a stretch, but it keeps me from being distracted by it.
  21. It felt great to finally watch someone follow the rules, be accountable for missteps, and ultimately succeed in getting the surgery. This show has me expecting train wrecks, which I don't love. I totally prefer watching these "boring" episodes with nice people and positive outcomes. Bianca was lovely and while I don't particularly like children, hers were just adorable. I wanted to run in and hug her son--so sweet! Go Dr. Paradise!
  22. I'm right there with you. Love the flamingos twerking.
