Wait, what? Benson was raised by a single mom who I believe taught at a university. Hardly rolling in dough.

S01.E02: ...After The Phantoms Of Your Former Self
Broderbits replied to Mr. Sparkle's topic in Interview With The Vampire
The killing of that awful tenor reminded me of Dr. Lecter dispatching the off-key flutist in Red Dragon. Musicians beware! -
At first it was an amusing kind of dumb, but now it's a boring kind of dumb with way too many characters.

Whichever one does the migraine ads - I think she's hideous. The pounds of make-up and plastic surgery/fillers/whatever just creep me out. IMHO

S01.E01: In Throes Of Increasing Wonder
Broderbits replied to Mr. Sparkle's topic in Interview With The Vampire
But then there would be no show! I was absolutely riveted, and this Lestat is so much better than the miscast Cruise in the movie. -
Probably because the patient had already killed 2 people and that triggered the force majeure clause.

S01.E06: The Princess And The Queen
Broderbits replied to Meredith Quill's topic in House Of The Dragon
He's still in love with her. The opposite of love isn't hate, it's indifference. I vote to push Queen Alicent down the stairs and kick her when she lands. -
I thoroughly enjoyed that, well written script with some humor to relieve the darkness. And a new canine friend!
-
I thought it was a pretty good episode and Zeeko looks just fine to me. Yeah, the nerve of him dealing with a bomb and hostage situation instead of answering texts from a pouty teenager! Anyway, if last season's unaired finale is going to be episode #3 maybe they are setting something up with Jubal's son, since one of his friends is supposed to be involved. Just so the episode won't seem too out of place.

S02.E05: The Unreliable Narrator
Broderbits replied to PrincessPurrsALot's topic in Kevin Can F**k Himself
I really believe the main point of this show was just to stick it to the "regular guy is King" sitcoms and expose them for the misogynistic fantasies they are. I agree that 2 seasons are sufficient, but I've enjoyed watching. -
As far as I know Paramount+ only has a limited number of episodes, if any. They've gone to Freevee. But Paramount does own ad-supported Pluto TV which has a Perry Mason channel, so one can catch an episode any time.
-
A similar thing happened to me months ago - I was watching ad-free episodes from the beginning on Paramount+; then suddenly they were only available on Freevee, with ads. I guess Amazon bought the rights from CBS.
-
Does anyone know if they are ever going to show last season's finale? It's not even available on Paramount+, just an option to add it to the Watchlist.

The way she took over the prayer was fantastic!

S02.E05: The Unreliable Narrator
Broderbits replied to PrincessPurrsALot's topic in Kevin Can F**k Himself
I think Kevin is the biggest "unreliable narrator" on the show: he's always telling the others how great he is, how everything he does is brilliant, how people think he's fantastic. When the show first started, his inner circle agreed with him; now they're beginning to see the real, non-sitcom, Kevin. I'm hoping that by the series' end he's all alone. -
At least the King acted like a king instead of an old man teetering towards dementia. Glad he canned Otto, but he'd better watch his back; that man will definitely hold a grudge. Otto is probably off selling his secrets to the highest bidder right now.
-
Remember Allison's mother said she was just like her father, who had "lofty ideas". The mother said she had tried to keep him down to earth, which I take from her demeanor to mean she treated him much the way Kevin treats Allison: by scoffing at every "lofty idea" and ridiculing every effort for improvement. By marrying Kevin, Allison unconsciously kept that familiar dynamic; it's like when children of alcoholics marry alcoholics.
-
Well, you really can't have a drunken king stumbling around the forest with a spear! Viserys is so unfocused and ineffectual it's no wonder Otto thinks himself superior. I loved the precision dragon/drone attack, excellent flying there.

I want to know more about that stolen item Kevin had stashed in the aunt's husband's storage unit. Does he have more stolen stuff there and will he be found out? Apparently Alison had a good opportunity to leave town after high school; now her aunt has shown her how to leave a marriage. What the hell is wrong with her!

My cable bill was around $120 month (that's not including internet) and I realized that was for a lot of stations I never watched (like sports, shopping, etc.), plus taxes, plus various extra "fees", plus charges to watch local networks. I cancelled cable over a year ago, spent around $20 for a digital antenna, and decided what streaming services I would get the most value from. Now my tv watching costs me about $50 month, not including Amazon Prime which I would have anyway. YMMV

S02.E01: Mrs. McRoberts Is Dead
Broderbits replied to PrincessPurrsALot's topic in Kevin Can F**k Himself
Unless all his fans write his name on the ballot, which is a possibility since Kevin never seems to lose. Alison needs to dye her hair, buy a burner phone, set fire to her car, and hop a plane to anywhere else. -
S01.E01: The Heirs of the Dragon
Broderbits replied to Meredith Quill's topic in House Of The Dragon
King Viserys might be "decent and kind", but it was pretty stupid of him to put Daemon in the perfect situation to amass his own loyal army. Everyone knew about Daemon's unbridled ambition but no one could imagine him starting a rebellion? What a crappy advisory council, and I don't trust the Hand at all. That childbirth scene was horrendous! Very grateful for modern medicine..... -
Ha! If you want "zany Lalo" just watch Tony Dalton singing and fencing in Hawkeye on Disney+. Very disorienting.....
