Fleishman Is In Trouble - General Discussion

Lizzy Caplan was outstanding. The daughter's epiphany and suddenly becoming the smartest person on the show seemed a little unearned given what a pill she was for the first half of the season, but that scene with Toby in the synagogue was lovely.- 174 replies

So does no one in Russia speak Russian anymore?

Looks like Deadline made a big oops and jumped the gun in posting a Q&A with Bruce Miller regarding Wednesday's finale. Brief, but extremely spoilery summary of the episode at the beginning of article. Not sure how long it will stay up but here's the link Major finale spoilers

The Girl From Plainville - General Discussion

Katie’s cross of Breggin has been the most entertaining part of the series thus far. -
Holy cheekbones! I know Hansu’s supposed to be the heartthrob but Isak’s where it’s at. The entire cast is uniformly excellent but I get all the feelings whenever Youn Yuh-jung’s on screen. She’s perfection. And that entire rice sequence was beautifully shot.

Grandma Shultz, Judith “BAM!” Baker and Phyllis Dr. Gardner are all pretty awesome.

So Tara and poor little rich boy Leo, both white, decide to frame three persons of color for kidnapping? And pretty much get away with it while Natalie goes to jail and loses her sister and Aadesh is forced on the run? Lame.

3 episodes in and that damn monkey is already on my last nerve. OTOH really digging 355. She totally sabotaged that other helicopter, right? And I feel as though Yorick should be slightly more concerned about finding his sister than the woman who turned down his proposal, was willingly moving to another country without him and admitted to wanting to “meet” other people.

Yeah, Renn's definitely a goner by the end of this season. Death, jail or leaves town. The show's track record with its female characters (major and recurring) is pretty sad: OG Smurf, Catherine, Lena, Nicky, Lucy, Mia, Angela, Morgan. Plus Christina Ochoa's pilot got picked up, so not looking great for Craig's baby mama.

Oh Zoya, there’s a time and a place. Although I guess I found myself siding with her more than Obie. Speaking of, I can’t for the life of me figure out what Julien sees in the guy. And I know Aki’s supposed to be a little dim but did he not figure out that Audrey accidentally outed him? Or were the lamb chops and impending threesome too distracting to bring it up? Also was it ever mentioned that his father is basically Rupert Murdoch? Rafa, nerdy teacher (still don’t know his name) and Obie all still suck to varying degrees but I actually didn’t mind Kate Keller this episode. She’s tolerable with Zoya’s dad (still don’t know his name either). Kind of loved Audrey terrifying the hospital staff with some good old fashioned Waldorf hysteria this episode. She’s strangely become my favorite character. Also continue to be amused by the random Carla Hall appearances. It’s like the show films in her kitchen and she just happens to be there lol.

Full frontal male nudity on Gossip Girl. My how times have changed. That was some very Chair-esque scheming by Julien/Max. Consequences be damned. Oh and hey Beck! Guess you made it out of Joe’s creepy bookstore basement after all. Speaking of, it’s crazy how much Eli Brown sounds like Penn Badgley. Although I find most of what Obie says to be pretty cringeworthy. I get it. You’re woke. Zoya too. She comes off as quite pretentious a lot of the time. Still enjoying Julien. And Audrey. Love that they have a genuine friendship. The minions are awful but decent comic relief. And since it bears repeating: The teachers are still the worst.

S02.E12: Zoey’s Extraordinary Session

LOL, Noah Weisberg singing that ridiculous version of "Pure Imagination" was pretty awesome given this: -
Episode MVP: Noma Dumezweni. I am both terrified of Haley "I am not funny" Fitzgerald and want to be her best friend. Can't believe Fernando let Jonathan into the apartment let alone hold/feed the baby. That was such a weird scene. And I am officially on the Sylvia and Jonathan had an affair train.

I guess it's a good thing that Alex is in rehab, because that was one HUGE bag of cocaine that Josie found! LOL

Ok seriously? Carrie has to kill Saul to prevent a war? I really hope she reorganizes his book shelf before that happens. And I guess Ben Savage is the go-to when shows need someone to play a young Mandy Patinkin. LOL. The dubbing was horrible though. Loved it when Zabel was being a smug little shit about Pakistan giving up Jalal's "location." And Saul is all "Yeah, sure. Let's go with that." Smirk.

I'm all for a season 3 of Peach, Delilah, Forty and Candace haunting Joe and Love from beyond the grave and making their lives miserable. The level of snark from those four would be epic.

She had wet herself and was too embarrassed to stand up. And FWIW there was a "urine sugar test case" on the night stand when Bob got home after his first rehearsal with Gwen.

With regards to Julie's call to the police tip line: Tom wasn't the only man on camera during that press conference... Expanding on that...

Looks like it was a money issue. I guess Scott Caan makes more money than those two despite appearing in fewer episodes? Daniel Dae Kim, Grace Park Exit ‘Hawaii Five-0’ In any case all three Asian series regulars on the show are now gone. Given the show's setting I'd hope that any new additions are diverse ones.

I liked how after Olivia's long con Athan's all "BTW, you know you're the witness right?" Good luck with that. Athan going dark because of the loss of his one true love was a bit unoriginal. And he certainly went from bad guy to sacrificing himself for his parents pretty quickly. I guess Jennifer set him straight when she was nursing back to health. I did like that the mausoleum ended up belonging to Eliza. And that she was wearing a plague mask during her first meeting with Athan. Those were nice touches. The show does a really good job of breaking up the dreary darkness of a post-apocalyptic sci-fi drama with comedy bits. The dance lesson scene was great and anytime Jennifer appears is a hoot. She's really one of the best characters on TV.

S04.E07: High Water and a Devil's Daughter

Wish we got more of Charles Michael Davis as Josh as Marcel. I did enjoy Klaus' two children bonding. The actress who plays little Hope is adorable. But yet another "truce" that'll be broken by the end of the next episode? Loved Klaus going all hybrid on smug Dominic, dude needed to be put down. Meanwhile isn't this the second time this season that Elijah's been willing to sacrifice a bunch of kids? And that was definitely a crescent birthmark on the hollow when it possessed Sofya right? She kind of sounded like an older Hope, but I'm pretty sure the birthmarks were on different shoulders. -
"Mr. Andrews! Nice haircut. Looking extremely DILFy today." Cheryl really does get the best lines. Archie's not a biological Blossom is he? Maybe just a ginger, excuse me, red herring. So Betty, Veronica, Val, Grundy and now Cheryl. I suppose Ethel and Mrs. Cooper are next to board the Archiekins Express?
