Season 5 Speculation WITH Spoilers (US)
ajsnaves replied to Rhondinella's topic in Downton Abbey [V]
I had been wondering why Bernadette Peters was not in Into the Woods, which comes out on Christmas. Now I know why. She can no longer move anything on her body except her lips, barely. -
We never played scooter ball, but we did something with those scooters when I was in elementary school. We had a whole school Olympics every spring, where we all had to compete for the honor of our class. There was something with scooters. We played with a parachute (had to get a ball in the hole in the middle. I remember something with a huge rubber ball that we had to pass back and forth over our heads. And we ate oranges. And then the whole thing ended with a song. I am sure the neighbors loved hearing a thousand 3-10 year-olds singing at the top of our lungs. Dodge ball was also played in gym, but I think we used nerf balls. But I also remember being hit by those rubber kickballs too. My least favorite thing we had to do was climb the rope. Let's see if he can get 9 year old kids to climb to the 25 foot ceiling, hoping he doesn't fall onto the 1 inch mat. But I did like swinging on the rope. I was good at that. I loved Trivial Pursuit, and eagerly buy new editions when they come out. I remember the first Genus edition. It is surprisingly hard now with all the old pop culture stuff, and out of date questions. My brother and I used to play it when we were kids. So all in all, this was a great episode for making me feel nostalgic.

What did Eugene "running" away from the walkers remind me of? The Kids in the Hall, that's what. Pretty lack luster episode until the end. I ha d to laugh at Eugene watching from the self help section though. This episode shows why I was not happy about about them splitting up again. I don't want to have to keep repeating the same day over and over again, just with a different group. I want to watch them all together.

I was thinking about why the police didn't just look into Jack's conviction themselves. Then I realized, that would have happened 35 years ago. (He said he married her at 40 after 2 years in prison, and I think they said he was 73 now.) If this happened 10 or 15 years ago, it would be easy to get information, 35 years ago, not so much. And this all seemed happen over 3 or 4 days, including a weekend. IN that time, you might be able to find out what the conviction was for, but not the details. I am a criminal defense attorney, and about 4 or 5 years ago, I handled a Felon with a gun case, and I had to review his 1982 conviction to look for anything that may relate to a pardon. The Clerk had to dig it out of storage from another building. It took a few days for them to find it and get it in, and I am in a small county. If this happened in a bigger county, it may take weeks. Old files are not necessarily digitized, and if they are, it is usually just the basics. That said, his blood is on the police departments hands. If he has any family anywhere, I would expect a civil suit.

Thank you Matt Bomer for coming in today, Wait, did something happen after he took his clothes off? I loved that Gloria didn't even bother to humor Dandy with Dora's body there. She knows she is a horrible mother. She knows she created a monster. I kinda feel sorry for her, and then she helped hide the body. If the show keeps this pace up for the rest of the season, I think I will be happy.

Well clearly we need an emergency Ron Funches appearance.

I can accept that people are stupid enough to think she is named after a terrorist group. I don't think Fellows would think that far in advance and plan on killing her off for that reason. I just think it is an unfortunate coincidence and then the rumors spread. Can we have a pool on what the next dog will be named? How about Bast, goddess of Cats? I just wanted to start crying when Robert when standing there holding Isis at the end. How far away from Downton does Lord Merton live? Would the Isobel, the new Countess of Merton, be unable to pop over to visit Violet? I mean he seemed like he was walking over to Crawley House every day like a lost schoolboy. Mary was able to pop up to London for a movie. (That was a movie right?) So they should be able to see each other semi-regularly. Speaking of visiting Violet, I loved Spratt and his war with the new maid, but I kinda hope he really does leave. And then Violet can hire Molesley,

Michonne: A Weapon with a Weapon
ajsnaves replied to Omar G.'s topic in The Walking Dead Franchise Shows
2005 Broadway revival with Michael Cerveris for me. The Johnny Depp version was what I was able to find though. But I now I want to see MIchonne and Rick digitally added. -
Michonne: A Weapon with a Weapon

Anybody else get this song in their head when Michonne picked up her katana? Or am I the only one who randomly has Sondheim musicals go through their heads? I'll go back over into the corner now. -
It's not like they can't charge the cocaine sharers later, at least the adults. Chloe would likely be in a different position as a juvenile. But I can see that not being their priority. Also, if a local drug squad wants to work with them, it is easier if they are not in custody and charged yet. But that is just the real world explanations that I would come up. I have decided that it is Fr. Paul. I just hope it is not a sex thing, but something unexpected.

Anyone else hoping that Tom would just yell out "WHY DO YOU KEEP INVITING HER?" He clearly has no interest in her, but they keep inviting her around, and he just has to keep being nice. I think Anna is going to push Tony in front of a train. Speaking of Anna, wasn't she in London when it happened?

Tina and Amy always wore jeans under the desk, and I always assumed the men did that too. It looks like they just updates the wardrobes.

Heh, I remember the day we got cable. It was April 13, 1985. It was a Saturday. The first music video we watched on MTV was Phil Collins, Take me Home. That was a big day in the life of this little 7 year old boy. The next day I got up early, as was my custom then, and watched Bugs Bunny cartoons on the Superstation, which is what we called TBS in those days. The important thing though is that I had an onion tied to my belt... I loved this episode. I loved that they acknowledged what he all knew was true, you judged a TV show entirely by the quality of its theme song, a lost art now if you ask me. I loved the wigs, and the Bangles, and was not completely distracted by the jumping around in time (Royal Wedding was in 1981, Family Ties was 82, We're Not Gonna Take it was in 84). I loved Murray sitting down for his wedding.

Middle-Aged Man appeared at least once more. I wanna say with George Wendt as Retired Man. Whenever I hear Don Pardo's voice in my head, this is the cast he is reading. Particularly the way he drew out "Joooohn Lovittssss." I oved everything about this episode, even both B-52's songs. I thought it was weird they didn't do Love Shack, but then I remembered that Love Shack was big the previous fall, but Cosmic Thing and Channel Z were getting a lot of play then. And frankly I just loved seeing Fred hop around like that. On the Nude Talk Show sketch, who was the not-Conan guy? I am sure for the next week I am going to have "Pie's never free" going through my head.

There were stories recently about people going into jails to bail people out, the jail would then seize the cash, keep it, and not release the person being bailed out. All because some drug dog sniffed cocaine on the cash. Completely ignoring the fact that all cash in this county has trace amounts of cocaine powder on it unless it just came from the printers. And was never in any contact with any other cash, in say, a cash register. What they need to do is get rid of the incentive to the departments to seize the property, the fact that the bulk of it goes to the departments. If they want to seize the cash, it has to go towards something else, like treatment programs.

I think I would actually rather see Bill's James Carville than see Stefon sans Seth. Actually I think I would rather see Carville anyway.

But staples is funnier. So even though I know it was stables now, in my mind, I will keep laughing at staples. Anyone else kinda want to hear the whole mafia who's sleeping with whom song?

Churchill makes some sense, because his party did lose the election a few months after FDR died. But he came into power shortly after the war started. Stalin was not without some logic, assuming you don't have a memory for dates. Truman though, there is no excuse for that. I was rooting for Alex. For no other reason that I liked looking at him and his beard. But he also seemed smart. I did not notice any slowness in picking clues, but I also was not paying that close attention. I too would have bet a small amount on the DD, since that was a topic I knew nothing about, and it was late in the game.
