  1. His person was shot to death right in front of him. I would call that traumatic.
  2. Once I knew the killer was the shepherd/gamekeeper I wasn't all that eager for him to be brought to justice. Even abstractly I couldn't muster much sympathy for the victim. I felt bad for the dog. And there was so much of the old ways about the village and this darkly Gothic Mellors that he and the village seemed somehow set apart from any "modern" justice. So it was rather fitting that the old witch saved him from rotting in a cell. This show always does so well in setting the mood and the atmosphere of the world we enter into through the investigations of Morse and Thursday. The village seemed closer to Pagan times in important ways and having that power station near it was just WRONG. I know Morse is destined to never have happiness with a woman but his thing with Joan is making me mutter at the screen and go good grief.
  3. Once again Cameron is way ahead of the curve with her tiny house love. Just looking at her and Joe in one of those mini tin cans gives me an acute feeling of claustrophobia.
  4. I hope some people will discover this show once it can be binged on netflix, etc.. I am very grateful to AMC for sticking with it and it deserves a wider audience.
  5. This is the first time I have ever liked Franco in anything. It was very compelling. I am in.
  6. Am I supposed to like the FBI agent? Because I sure don't. Besides finding his tactics despicable how are his investigation "techniques" ever going to lead to a case holding up in court? Those Snells are way too powerful to be believable. Now, if the actors had any charisma maybe I would enjoy watching them, but since they don't they are the worst part of the show to me.
  7. I assumed it was the mob killing those two gangsters for having failed to kill that guy who was going to testify against that mob/gang. But since the real focus of the episode was the No 10 bed hospital shenanigans they didn't go further into that.
  8. I finally recognized that's the same actor playing both characters this season of GOT. He is very good and very different in both roles.
  9. Whatever sympathy I had for Joan is fast going bye bye. Her mother is suffering torments while Joan punishes herself doing what - working as a call girl? What is so difficult about calling and reassuring your parents? They made the head nurse so unsympathetic and suspicious looking that I figured she wasn't the murderer all along. I was really worried for Bright. I thought his actor might need to leave the show to spend more quality time with Cersei Lannister.
  10. Too young. He didn't even make it to that terrible 69 that seems to claim quite a few of the musical greats. Steely Dan have such a timeless quality. I love their sound and those clever and ironic lyrics. Damn.
  11. You know, in a show about a family of ruthless criminals it's the obnoxiously stupid girlfriend of J I want gone like yesterday. She annoys the crap out of me. I think it was J who shot Baz.
  12. I feel bad for Jon. I just can't imagine him being thrilled at learning that he has been having sex with his aunt. He grew up as a Stark, in the North. While Dany comes from a totally different culture I am not convinced she will be okay with this either.
  13. I think we are supposed to see the Jon/Dany coupling as a cautionary tale ala Rhaegar/Lyanna - look how well that turned out.
  14. Littlefinger finally fell off that ladder... And Jaime at last woke up to Cersei - hallelujah!
  15. Oh Gordon. Why not let your teenage daughter make 20 k for something terrific she came up with? Just put the money into an account for her future like to help with college or something. But don't low ball your own child for crying out loud. That being said that whole scene was very funny. This cast works so well together, you can tell they are enjoying each other. Well, I am hoping Cameron and Joe are in a place where they can make it work somehow. Since this is the last season I don't want to see misery and relationship implosions. I want to remember all these characters on a positive note.
  16. I always end up getting spoiled on you tube. I am not willing to give up my favorite places online to avoid getting spoiled. Just yesterday I saw some stuff that makes me wonder whether it's legit script leaks or wild fan fiction. If these particular "script leaks" are true and not bull shit - then yikes! The thing is it's the final season and there really is no reason why certain popular characters might not get killed off by the second episode.
  17. I really don't like that Endeavour and Thursday are on the outs. Their relationship gave the show a warmth that I am now missing. So who messed with Morse's exams?
  18. http://www.denofgeek.com/uk/tv/vikings/51449/vikings-season-6-renewal-announcement-imminent-as-casting-calls-go-out They are already casting for season 6, even though there hasn't been an official renewal yet.
  19. Viserion! I hardly knew ya! I cried over his death I am not ashamed to say. That was the most beautiful costume Dany has ever worn. I refuse to believe that Sansa and Arya are that stupid - I choose to believe they are planning something.
  20. Joe and Cameron talking on the phone was my favorite part. When you have chemistry with someone you can talk like that for hours. Since these actors always were able to bring across their characters connection their thing seems quite earned to me.
  21. So that maybe some people would care that Dany had Dickon burned to death? It worked on me. Hopper has one of those faces that make me care about his characters. If it had just been his arrogant asshole father Dany killed I would have thought in the abstract - what a barbaric way to kill someone, but oh well Randall Tarly wasn't exactly filled with the milk of human kindness so .... However, Dickon was kind of naive and basically decent and his brutal death made me think of the fate Shireen suffered at the hands of Stannis. But Karma got Stannis and I am hoping Dany won't be rewarded for the ruthless things she has done to fulfill her ambitions and force everybody and their dog to bend the knee to her. I know this is a minority position but it's how I feel. Tyrion wasn't too pleased about those executions either and he has a lot times represented the view of the sort of moral outsider POV on the show and is GRRM's darling in the books.
  22. Since Jaime hasn't turned from Cersei yet - what would finally make him and be believable and not contrived? And now she seems to be pregnant - good grief! Dany can claim all day long that men choose her but the terror in those Lannister soldiers faces was not choice but just desperation and trying to avoid being Drogon's extra crispy camp fire marshmallow snacks. Davos and Bronn are my favorites, they are not at all alike but they both have a quality in short supply on this show - common sense. Because Jon is Rhaegar's as we found out this episode legitimate son, and Rhaegar was the heir to throne of the Mad King? Ergo, I guess Jon is the heir to the throne. Dickon had armor on so he was basically boiled alive in it, the metal would have stuck to his skin, which would be incredible painful. And Dany's little smile when she gave the word to Drogon, shudders.
  23. I wonder whether the ending could be bitter sweet because there might be a big time jump in the finale? Lets say that awesome Lady Mormont, now a grand mother, is telling the chronicles of Fire and Ice (written by Sam) to her grand children. And some of the characters we knew would have died in the final battle, some may have lived to old age and died. But the Iron Throne and the united Westeros these characters knew are gone. And all these characters we knew for eight seasons are legends now.
  24. I like Dickon and I know the actor from other things and if Dany really kills Dickon by burning him alive with dragon fire I'll be rooting for her death. I hope she never gets to rule and I hope somebody kills her like her nasty and insane father. I never liked her and her gigantic ego and entitlement much but this Dickon thing makes me loathe her.
  25. I just saw a depressing spoiler on youtube that Cersei is pregnant. I so hope that's a foiler. I don't see how Jaime will ever get free of her if she is.
