  1. The creator has said that he needs 2 to 3 seasons beyond season 3 to tell the whole story. They only have a 3 season renewal and unfortunately Netflix tends to cancel even successful shows after 3 seasons. There are exceptions like Stranger Things - so fingers crossed.
  2. I stubbornly maintain that the writers giving Mrs.Hall the first name "Audrey" which was the first name of Siegfried's real life wife or book Siegfrieds? is a sign. Yes indeed. I think the actress who plays Mrs. Hall is beautiful.
  3. Olaf is like the proverbial cockroach surviving anything. Meanwhile Leif, Harald and Freydis are being hunted. I enjoy the show but the writing is not exactly subtle. Godwin basically told us his fate, and Freydis told Harald his. The wild card is Freydis now. They have already filmed season 3, so we are assured that but after that Netflix may not want to go further. I want them to get to the ultimate fates of these characters and to the Conqueror.
  4. I was upset that the cow had to be killed. I know this has to be shown because the main characters are vets and it is a part of the job but I have a big problem when animals die in my fiction. I am one of those people who doesn't care how many people die violently in a John Wick movie but kill one animal and I am outraged and devastated. In all the Jurassic Park movies I never bat an eye lash when the dinosaurs eat people but there is one sequel where one dinosaurs eats a dog and I was like "oh, no!"
  5. So glad to have more episodes. I am liking these fictional people so much. I am betting the farmers son eager to enlist will be among the first wounded or fallen. Cliches are made of truth. No matter what Siegfried prefers I don't see either Tristan or James avoiding military service. There was immense pressure to fight even among men who were pacifists. And most young men would have considered this war -with good reason - as a "just" war.
  6. It's been confirmed that HOTD won't return until summer 2004. Erm. I meant 2024, still quite a while from now.
  7. Vikings Valhalla season 1 bloopers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8qKaZDuPfks Pretty people being funny.
  8. Journey to season 2... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmwgDIdpwOQ My shallow moment, what a beautiful cast.
  9. Like most of these characters Godwin is based on an actual historical person. When you know who that is you can find much to admire. The character is always trying to figure out the angles and who to ally with and who to backstab to get ahead in these volatile and dangerous times. He and Emma have one thing in common, they are always going to be the smartest people in a room. As is King Cnute. Show Edmund is kind of a rash moron who endangers the much smarter people in his orbit with his behavior, so not surprising that he gets killed. If I remember right real life Edmund didn't get murdered but died young from natural causes. Laughs. If I wanted to be friends with a character on this show I would choose the show version of Leif Erickson - competent, loyal and not a back stabber.

    Barbie (2023)

That teaser was awesome, I almost slid off my chair laughing.
  11. I am really enjoying re-watching this on Netflix. I wished they hadn't killed off Tangerine. I would have watched another movie with Lemon and him. Since this movie I have been thinking Aaron Taylor Johnson might make an interesting James Bond. Not the Pierce Brosnan type but I could see him as Bond for our times.
  12. Anybody else doubting that The Batman sequel will still be made now? Despite that movie being a critical and financial hit. Warner will find a way to destroy that too. But hey, Ezra Miller still has a job. Rolls eyes.
  13. As far as I know they are still in the cast.
  14. I enjoyed that very much. It's doing well in the ratings on Netflix. So I am hopeful for a season 2. My favorite was "Thing". Yes, I found a hand without a body charming.
  15. To me it was a sweet movie and not heavy at all. It has an ending totally in line with the romance genre.
  16. Here to recommend this Christmas movie I watched last night on Netflix, I can't recall the title but it was the no 1 movie on there yesterday. Famous author meets woman looking for her birth mom while taking care of his mother's estate. They go on a road trip and fall in love. Everything was well above average in this one. From the acting - even in minor roles - to the writing, to the production values, to the chemistry between the leads. The couple came across as real people with the kind of emotional problems real people have, a high compliment from me considering the genre. James Remar plays the hero's estranged dad. There is an adorable dog. This would have been a perfect little movie for me but for the writing faltering right towards the end by giving the heroine non sense cold feet all of a sudden. Still, even with that I enjoyed this one.
  17. Some info from collider https://collider.com/vikings-valhalla-season-2-images-bradley-james/
  18. Season 2 coming earlier than I thought: https://www.showbizjunkies.com/tv/vikings-valhalla-season-2-preview/ Bring it on!
  19. I had meant that I didn't want her to have Syphilis period, they had so much chemistry and were well matched, I wanted a happy ending for them. It still would have been a happy ending with plenty of problems. Given the dangerous country and having to face plenty of people objecting to them as a couple. I found the Syphilis to be over-kill.
  20. Am I the only one genuinely upset Eli and Cordelia couldn't have a happy ending? Generally I am more of a pragmatist and a firm believer that having chemistry and being in love is not enough to overcome big cultural differences and backgrounds long term, etc.. But these two were actually very well suited temperament wise and could have made a go of it on that farm of his. Dammit.
  21. Me neither. I don't like Armand. I admit I am looking at him through Lestat's eyes which is hardly objective. One of the shittiest things Armand does is make Lestat believe for a long time that Louis is also dead. Claudia wasn't just executed because she attempted to kill her maker - a big no-no. They also kill her because she was made at such a young age, also a big no-no. Since they changed her age for the TV show, anything goes now.
  22. Winks. I have read The Vampire Lestat since I posted this question and lets just say
  23. I am curious about that too. Since they actually changed who "kills" Lestat in the show.
  24. Lestat loves being in churches. Certain other vampires have a superstition against them and Lestat escapes into churches a number of times. He also goes to ground in them to be safe. I found this interesting article and I am putting the link in here because it seems too spoilery for the media thread. https://variety.com/2022/tv/news/interview-with-the-vampire-finale-louis-kills-lestat-armand-revealed-1235429315/ I learned a few things from the article. Don't expect some romantic reunion between Louis and Lestat in season 2. While Lestat is alive the relationship they had seems to be dead. Which is probably for the best as it was very toxic. The second season will focus on Louis, Claudia and Armand in Paris. But also use material from book 2, 3 and 6. So Sam Reid won't sit the season out. I learned something fascinating, there is a later book in which Lestat falls in love with Rowan, the witch from that upcoming AMC witches series. So maybe eventually we will get some crossover? If this show lasts long enough, it's probably too queer for AMC mainstream audiences, I fear. I will be grateful if they get a third season..
