  1. Tim McMullan has small eyes. It's apparently his trademark. His small eyes are the result of BPES syndrome, a genetic condition, causing a narrowing of the eye opening, droopy eyelids, an upward fold of the skin of the lower eyelid near the inner corner of the eye, and an increased distance between the inner corners of the eyes. This causes the eyelids to be unable to open fully, and limits vision. From IMDb.
  2. The entire "deal" with the new owners depends on the back list, the new book Magpie Murders, which they do not have a complete copy of, and her staying on as CEO. Any one of those things not happening would possibly tank the deal with the new owners. She doesn't have that much of a choice at the moment. If Alan hadn't died, if they had the full manuscript, they would be in a better position to counter the offer. Andreas knew Alan from when they taught together. It's not unlikely that they would know and use the same lawyer for their business dealings.
  3. Just coming on here to say that I've started (finally) watching "Never Have I Ever" on Netflix and Niecy plays a therapist on that show. I've seen 5 episodes so far, and she is pretty great in the role. There isn't obvious boob-flashing like on this show, so it must have been a character choice to um, feature them so prominently in The Rookie: Feds. LOL. It's too bad, because it makes her cartoonish, IMO.
  4. I am enjoying this show. I think the acting is stellar, and Reginald is wonderful! I can totally see him personality still shining through his vampiric transformation. This last episode was so tensionfilled. I knew that Maurice's mother was not going to make it, but I really felt bad for the little neighbor boy. Such a sad life. I think I must have missed the third episode, somehow. I'll have to see if I can find it to rewatch. Go Reginald! One question though, shouldn't this thread be in the Other Genres category, rather than comedies? Took me awhile to find it. Now I know!
  5. Lyle needs to unbend a bit. 🥳
  6. To me, this episode was pretty dull. I enjoyed last week's episode so much more. And when the heck is George coming back?
  7. And much of her sharing was about Moby-Dick so that was icing on the cake for me! 🐳 Love her way of referencing the book. (I've only seen the first episode, so far.)
  8. Okay, this is a great show!!!! I really enjoyed this second episode where Susan slowly goes from editor looking for missing pages to sleuth trying to solve a murder. I even liked Atticus Pund talking directly to her, even though that is not possible. All of the actors are so great!!! I'm really looking forward to the next episode. ☠️=good murder mystery
  9. Unpopular opinion here, but this episode felt so flat to me. I don't know if Diane is under the influence or what. I'm very surprised that the writers would take her character in the direction they have. Perhaps it's to show exhaustion on Diane's part of having to deal with the world and it's issues the last few years (Trump, COVID, widening divide politically between people) but it seems really out of character for her to be contemplating leaving her marriage. Anyway, none of the trial cases have felt as vivid they did in previous seasons. I'll watch to the end, but I'm not seeing the quality I have before.
  10. I don't know, I didn't have any heart flutters from that final scene. In fact, I rather hope Eliza finds a new romance. William bugged me the entire episode. I get that historically he would have been "rough" but I did NOT like any part of him this episode. I'm sure I'll keep watching, as I like Eliza and Moses. i too am very sad there is no Rupert, as I adore Andrew Gower. Let's hope the next episode is better.
  11. I like this show. I think it's cut together rather like a Guy Ritchie film, and can be kind of confusing with all the time switches, but I'm interested enough to keep watching. Tom Welling and Brendan Fraser's rapport is good. Is it cliched? Possibly, but well filmed. Production values are pretty good. I'm sticking with it.
  12. Well, I enjoyed the first episode. Besides wanting to be Susan Ryland in my next life, I enjoyed the plot twisting between the book-within-the-book plot and the "real" plot. I remember reading and enjoying the book a few years ago, but mercifully, I do not recall the conclusion, so I'm really enjoying the mystery. No one else watched? Leslie Manville was great (all the actors were). I loved the sequence of scenes showing Alan Conway trying to write. LOL.
  13. I love Todd, and Lyle can kiss my a$$. What a douche. No welcoming, no bending. Yeeesh. I get that Todd may need to be reminded he's starting at the bottom and is not yet an equal partner with Lyle, but Lyle has a big stick up his butt, which hopefully will be removed soon. When Margaret was negotiating with Lyle for whatever access Todd could have, I thought that was great. Margaret was showing Todd how to work with someone who may not be as fast as Todd is at figuring things out. LOL. I'm in. Great cast and I hope, some great storytelling.
  14. I wonder if being "sucked off" is going to be part of the storyline going forward, or if that is reserved for visiting cast members only. I like the core of ghosts on the show now, but I thought resolving something about their death could lead to being "released" from ghost life? I enjoyed this show, I liked that they showed more of Jay's point of view. The shot of him watching his wife at the front desk talk to the ghosts (and from his point of view she was talking to empty space) was pretty great. I guess Flower was high when she died, as Sam was high after Flower "hugged" her.
  15. I'm still hung up on the fact that Allison planned to have Kevin murdered in their home to make it look like a home invasion. She involved Patty in some dangerous behavior (even though Patty was already dealing drugs, but in a Robin Hood sort of way because her clients REALLY needed them and couldn't afford to get prescriptions?) and hired Nick to kill Kevin. Kevin manages to shoot Nick and not die himself, so then Allison spends the rest of her time trying not to get found out for attempted murder, coming up with more and more desparate schemes. Nick dies (convenient) , and Tammy decides (because she cares about Patty) that no one needs to know about any of it? I guess.
  16. Well, I'm still processing, but the best thing I can say about the show is that Eric Peterson was fantastic in the role. Actually, I enjoyed all the actors, I just wish the story had been stronger? Or something. I liked Allison so much more when she was not in Worcester. Felt kind of sad for Tammy, but was happy she was getting out of Worcester and maybe going to a happier relationship. I guess Worcester will be nice now, because Kevin died.
  17. I died laughing at the opening shootout, with Niecy in a cleavage revealing wedding gown. Then she went on to work the next day, even her father suggests buttoning an extra button, but no, she's gotta "own" that she has ample bosums. Of course.
  18. A couple of observations after this episode: The sitcom trope of beautiful wife with dopey husband isn't working. Annie Murphy is stunning, but as Allison she resorts to some crazy grimace or smile, and it's really off-putting. I guess it's to show just how much pressure she is under, but all it does for me is undermine whatever nonsense she's spouting about "fixing" things. These people are living on the edge, financially, yet Diane's house was nice, Neil's apartment was decent (after Patty cleaned it up), Patty's place is really nice, and even Allison's house isn't that bad. Television always gets it wrong. Either it's like the Connors situation where they just can't get out from under themselves, or it's like this show, afraid to show what true lower middle class is. Worcester cannot be loving all the digs at the city and the people who live there. It's amazing that this is the season they decided to create the Diane and Neil relationship. Too bad, I find it very compelling. And I still like that Tammy told Patty about the video, and was truthful in saying she couldn't leave it alone, so she ended things with Patty. I don't think she was hoping Patty would confess or tell her what was going on and then she could say, "Gotcha!" I feel like she was really trying to find a way to help Patty, but Patty didn't trust her enough to admit it was her in the video. I've mentioned before, Tammy is the same in both worlds, sitcom and Allison's reality. I think that's significant for some reason. We'll see.
  19. A quick death with witnesses! That's what makes me think it was an elaborate plan between the four of them. Of course, Daemon killed someone (poor servant?) to be the replacement body, and then Qarl and Laenor played their part. When Daemon broke that man's neck, initially I thought that he was killing Laenor.
  20. I enjoyed this episode up until Nyla's "It's a girl!" Now the show is just toying with us. Also hate birthing setups where the mother puts herself in danger by not having a midwife, at least, with her. I know her husband said he'd done home births before, and I understand the women of color distrust how hospitals treat them, specifically when giving birth, but it all seemed extreme to me, and Nyla strikes me as being more of a planner. She would have taken into account the chance that the midwife would get stuck in traffic. Thought for sure Rosalind was going to rear her ugly self up in the episode. Glad it was ONLY murderous neighbors.
  21. I thought he was picked on and bullied about not having a dragon. Thus the desperation to get on of his own. But maybe he was not fearful, but respectful of a dragon's power? At any rate there were two possible outcomes, so he was pretty brave to approach the dragon.
  22. Apart from the screen being dark to indicate nighttime and thus losing a lot of detail in those scenes (which has probably already been discussed on here), I liked this episode a lot. I'm not really a fan of Alicent's boys, but when Aemond conquered his fear and went after a dragon of his own, I was rooting for him. What a wonderful scene. He knew he was either going to win the dragon over, or get toasted. LOL. He did it. How joyous was that first ride, too? And humorous. And he lost an eye and will now be a badass forever. But I don't like all the plotting against Rhanyera's boys either. She was making a smart move taking on her uncle. She needs strong and ruthless support if she is going to survive. Also enjoyed Aemond and Aegon's conversation about marrying their sister.
  23. This sentence encouraged me to watch episode one, and I'm not sure I agree. It's well filmed, but the storyline with Niecy is just. so. contrived. Plus, her first day in the office and she's wearing and extremely low cut top. Cleavage for miles! Very unprofessional, even if she is living and working in L.A. Her voice grates my ears, too. I will give it another shot and watch the next episode, but I don't hold out much hope. I watch The Rookie for Captain Tightpants, and this show hasn't given me anything close to that. 😁
  24. I had a relative who was layed off the week he moved to the new job. 😱 So, not exactly the same week he was hired, but definitely the week he actually started working. It was pretty demoralizing.
  25. I'm so confused. I realize that this episode was put together after they had found out there would be no season 3, so some things had to be vocalized rather than shown to the audience, but it still felt like they were using huge amounts of exposition to carry the audience along the narrative. I felt like I had missed an episode or two. I like Tammy, only because she seems normal, compared to the rest of the cast. I could buy the idea that she cares enough about Patty that rather than turn the evidence on the video over to the investigation, she's trying to help her stay out of trouble. (Or, she could suspect Allison of being the "ring leader" and is hoping to pin something on Allison, saving Patty.) The Neil and Diane story is an interesting development, but I'm not sure why it was brought in so late in the show. The two actors are doing a very nice job with it. I thought this was the penultimate episode, but I see that there are two more. I have fears for the following people: Kevin, Neil, Tammy, Patty. Someone is going to die.
